Raphael left the War Room through a hidden servants' passage....one of dozens of secret routes through the Palace that he'd mapped over the years. His quarters were in the Palace's forgotten East Wing, in rooms that had once belonged to his brother, King Azrael, before the coup.
No one came here anymore. The Revolutionary faction had claimed this wing as "tainted by the old regime" and sealed it off. Which made it perfect for Raphael's purposes.....a base of operations hidden in plain sight, filled with resources and knowledge the current Court didn't even know existed.
