He reached the corridor thirty seconds after they came through.
Damian first, then Eve, then Damon....and Maya behind them, bag over her shoulder, eyes already scanning the space with the alert readiness of someone who had learned not to assume safety.
He took all of that in.
And then he looked at Eve.
She looked....tired. Good tired, the kind that came after something finished rather than something ongoing. There were shadows under her eyes and her shoulders were carrying the specific tension of someone who had been holding themselves upright through will for days and hadn't quite let go yet.
She looked at him.
He didn't move for one second.
Just....let himself look. Let himself have that. Three weeks of not having it and now she was twelve feet away and real and home and he needed one second to absorb that before he trusted himself to cross the distance without doing something embarrassing.
She walked to him.
He met her halfway.
