Chapter 2 - Prologue: Family's Betrayal

"Where is my son?" She asked her golden hair swaying wildly with the power she was emanating the earth was shaking as the sea rumbled out of control

"Calm down sister enough with your tantrum come in and have a seat" he said waving to the hut that had remained undamaged despite the powerful attack displayed

She reined her power in and walked into the hut while thinking 'To think he could handle my power and still protect the hut at the same time he's gotten a lot stronger' her face remained calm as she sat on the chairs he conjured from thin air "tell me what I want to know and no lies" she demanded.

His golden eyes flashed bright for a second before calming down "I know you're hurting but you really should know your place sister. He took a seat before saying the dungeon your sons entered is tied to some ancient races, I believe this was a test to see who was worthy of bearing their inheritance, a last hoorah to preserve their lineage, as for the reason he disappeared …. you are right I did engineer it, because it was needed."

Why?

"Do you remember when he was born? I can still hear his first cry-

"But that's impossible at the time of his birth it was during the time of your slumber I checked" she interrupted

"Please don't interrupt me again sister, yes I was asleep but the moment he came into the world it shook me awake and his first cry almost caused the destruction of the entire universe every old one still in slumber would have sensed this phenomenon and brought about terrible consequences if I had not restricted the special phenomenon to your home world and ever since then I have been watching him, watching your family." He said with a knowing gaze

"So, trust me when I tell you this is your son's location, he's at the tomb of Solomon" he finally told her

The tomb of Solomon but brother how can this be?

Isn't it obvious? Who else but the one who holds the gift of wisdom knowledge and understanding would you grant the authority to pass on your inheritance. His voice suddenly became stern you should hurry sister your son might be in danger."

She grabbed the location of the tomb and vanished in a burst of light, but her brothers last words stayed with her

"You should be careful sister for what you find might cause you to shatter those chains and release a disaster on the world…. though that wouldn't be so bad" he said as a wide grin appeared on his face even as mist covered his island once more and its presence vanished from the world.

{Tomb of Solomon}

She had moved at terrifying speed rushing through the portal that led to the tomb of Solomon her face cold yet hopeful even as her thought drifted toward the possibility that she might be too late.

The tomb of Solomon was a world of floating islands she rushed toward the island that had a golden sarcophagus resting in the middle of the continent, flying at incredible speed.

She came to a stop a the sight of a golden armored knight on his knees and by his side on his feet a man with white hair dressed in a golden attire, a smile appeared on her face as she was about to rush forward when her she senses picked out several details

she addressed the man with white hair with fury in her voice as she noticed his hands stained with blood " Aegon what have you done to my son?"

"What I had to" he calmly replied

why? She asked with a calmness that mirrored that of Aegon

no particular reason it's just what needed to be done Andrea" Aegon answered

there was no change in her expression as her name was revealed "I see" she said and then she charged summoning a crimson scythe and swung directly for his neck, intending to sever Aegon's head cleanly from his body but then the golden knight appeared in front of her blocking the advance of the scythe with his sword.

"You stand against me Balthazar why?" Andrea asked an unfathomable aura began to emanate from her body.

"I serve the emperor, and his will is above all" the golden knight replied

"Even the life of our son? when the Knight nodded in response, she said I see then you can die with him" and then she moved space parting for her as one moment she stood opposite him the next she had appeared right above him, her scythe descending about to cleave him into two.

But then the knight was not a novice he swung his sword upward intercepting the scythe and with a twist of his hand he parried the scythe and just as he was about to thrust his sword forward, he saw her stretch her palm forward and then a powerful gravitational force lifted him off his feet and sent him crashing into a nearby pillar.

The knight tried to stand to his feet when the gravitational force descended on him with more pressure forcing him to his knees as Andrea walked towards him her scythe raised, glowing with power she was about to remove his head from his body when she froze.

Andrea's face turned toward Aegon " You dare?" she asked her voice cold and heartbroken.

Aegon walked towards her slowly "you leave me no choice Andrea" he said as he placed his arms on her shoulder exerting force that forced her to her knees "I'm sorry"

"No you are not you have been planning this for centuries we were all pawns for your attempt to reach that rank and for that you have betrayed your family, your own son." Andrea said on her knees.

"Andrea you still don't understand but eventually you will" Aegon said

"And so will you" she said with a smile on her face

"What do you mean?" Aegon asked

"Whatever you did, it didn't work I can feel it…. he's still alive and he will come for you" she said as she started laughing maniacally

"Sleep" Aegon said and she dropped unconscious Balthazar he ordered as his golden knight carried her his voice turned cold as he said, "let him come I'll be waiting" and with a wave of his hand he created a spatial rift, and they all vanished leaving the tomb once more dead silent.

Creak.

Or so they thought.
