Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Gogmagog

37.

Today's weather: clear.

A giant meteorite fell, and the dinosaurs disappeared from the earth as I knew from history.

It seems even dinosaurs that could destroy mountains and create sonic booms couldn't do anything about a super-giant meteorite. No, if the meteorite was just a bit bigger, this planet would have been doomed, so is it obvious then?

I send a short moment of silence to the dinosaurs.

Ophis doesn't seem interested, and Chimeramon was frustrated that the dinosaurs disappeared, meaning its food source was gone.

I roughly throw a lump of meat using Dream power, and it happily accepts and eats it.

Well, let's start the day.

38.

It seems a meaningless amount of time has passed, even counting how long I've lived in this dragon's body. Although I spent most of the time in hibernation, seeing the dinosaurs go extinct and such time passing puts me in a complicated state of mind in many ways.

Now, primitive humans have appeared, seen hunting mammoths.

Is it because my previous life was human?

I feel a certain familiarity.

Except for that ferocious face.

39.

And so I entered hibernation again.

From the perspective of someone who knows the modern era, the age of primitive humans running wild is bound to be boring. Even so, it's not a barbaric era without even minimal culture and society.

Let's see again in tens of thousands of years.

40.

I woke up using an alarm clock.

Stretching as I get up, I immediately check the planet outside the Dimensional Gap. It's not quite the era I was hoping for yet, but I can see it has developed a proper society and culture, more or less.

Yes, it needs to be at least this level to be worth watching.

I can see food, culture, art, and other such aspects.

I went outside for the first time in a while.

41.

"It's a dragon!"

Ah, I forgot.

Maybe because I got too used to the dinosaur age and the primitive age, I forgot that I'm currently a dragon. Back then, I couldn't even have a proper conversation, and there were only kids swinging stone clubs, so I didn't pay much attention, but this appearance is bound to stand out.

Before the commotion gets bigger, I quickly return to the Dimensional Gap.

What should I do?

42.

What do you mean, what should I do?

Just use Polymorph or something.

Yes, I am a dragon.

And the classic move for a dragon is Polymorph.

I quit being a dragon!

I will return to being human!!!

43.

Using Polymorph with Dream power, I became a handsome man with red hair. Wow, it's an appearance that makes you exclaim. Compared to my previous life, I wonder if this is really me.

44.

While wandering the world in human form, I found out something.

It seems this world is more fantastical than I thought.

It appears there are all sorts of races: humans, of course, but also monsters, vampires, fairies, devils, angels, fallen angels, dragons, gods, and more.

How did I know?

Seeing the Greek gods next door assaulting humans as I know, or Celtic and Indian myths existing, and seeing humans fighting each other over their respective myth problems, I thought it was quite a mess.

Usually, aren't there only one or two such categories at most?

What a mixed bag this is.

45.

After traveling the world like that, I return to the Dimensional Gap, and Ophis simply asks where I've been. When I say I traveled the world, it says 'Traveled the world?' with a question mark above its head.

When I say I enjoyed it, occasionally going on gastronomic tours, it says it wants to go too.

Ah, interested in gastronomy?

"But you can't go in that form."

Ophis's dragon form is huge. No, is 'long' the right word?

If we just consider length, it's probably longer than my dragon form. And of course, such an appearance stands out, making it difficult to go on a proper gastronomic tour.

At my words, Ophis nodded.

"I will also change to human form."

Saying that, Ophis's gigantic dragon form shrank and gradually began to transform into a human shape.

Thus, dainty arms and legs, long hair, and weirdly only the ears are pointy?

And so Ophis became a black-haired young girl.

Wait, Ophis's age is similar to mine, so is this a legal loli?

Anyway, it's resolved, so Ophis and I set off on a gastronomic tour.

46.

Just as this world has all sorts of different races, special powers like magical power, magic, and ki also exist. Among them, there are people who hone their magical power to become mages who use magic.

And the place where only such mages gather is Atlantis.

We hid our forms and looked around the place where numerous genius mages gathered.

"Keeeeeeeeeeeeeh!"

"I can do more! I can do more!"

"It says we need to do three more days!"

....Hmm, the sight of the engineering students being ground down was a bit scary.

47.

Atlantis began a huge advertising campaign.

It seems they have created the strongest, most fearsome, and most terrible weapon.

The weapon's name is Gogmagog.

At first glance, it looks like an ordinary golem, but perhaps thanks to the engineers grinding their souls into it, it was much more powerful and useful than a typical golem.

48.

But Atlantis's prestige did not last long.

As they thought, Gogmagog was completed as an excellent weapon, but such engineering works always have more problems after completion than before.

Having excellent power was good, but the problems were not one or two, starting with productivity and the risk of rampage, and in the end, Gogmagog went out of control and Atlantis collapsed.

"Impossible!!! The technological power passed down by the gods....!!!"

One engineer screamed as if he couldn't believe the current situation.

Ah, so it was technological power received from a god.

But whether the god's interest is good or bad, does it only bring ruin to humans?

Just look at Greek mythology.

Ah, it's not yet the time when that messed-up mythology has spread widely.

49.

And so Atlantis sank into the sea due to Gogmagog's rampage.

Huh, this sounds familiar?

Is it an illusion?

50.

Gogmagog, developed by Atlantis.

But due to all sorts of problems and other issues, most Gogmagog units were eventually disposed of.

Well, that's fine, but why are they disposing of it in the Dimensional Gap?

Is this a garbage dump? Is it a place where you can legally dump things?

Grumbling like that, I collected the Gogmagog discarded in the Dimensional Gap.

Wow, ancient mecha acquired!

Well, you guys threw it away, so we'll make good use of it.

51.

I picked it up, but it's a bit of a headache.

Since it was disposed of, there are many difficulties in using it properly. I thought about how to use it, but I'm not good with machines, so this is a bit...

Thinking that, I shoved Dream power into it, as if to say 'let it be.'

Then, the 10M Gogmagog suddenly grew, and its body parts began to change in an instant.

As I exclaimed 'Whoa!' in admiration, Ophis next to me said 'Me too.' and fed its snake into another Gogmagog.

Then the Gogmagog with Ophis's snake inside also changed in size and form.

I thought deeply for a moment and muttered.

"From now on, your name is Mazinger."

Ophis's robot became Getter Robo.

52.

"Me toooooo!!!"

At Chimeramon's tantrum, I had no choice but to pick up another Gogmagog.

And Chimeramon's mecha became GaoGaiGar.
