Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Witch, Vermouth

Kaiser's villa.

Kaiser's gaze lingered on the Miyano sisters for a moment before shifting to his own status panel.

[Kaiser Lucifuge]

[Race: Progenitor Devil]

[Level: LV51]

[Authority: Progenitor Devil Transformation]

[Servants: Grayfia, Shiho Miyano, Akemi Miyano]

[Skills: Devil Contract, Devil Summoning, Infinite Demonic Power, Heart of Magic, Demonic Marksman, Devil's Pistol]

The panel hadn't changed dramatically—just the addition of Akemi as a servant.

And two new skills: Demonic Marksman and Devil's Pistol.

As for Demonic Marksman...

Hum!

A flash of light in Kaiser's hand materialized a sleek, pitch-black pistol.

In an instant, comprehensive knowledge of firearms flooded his mind.

Convenient indeed.

Kaiser nodded in satisfaction, then examined the weapon more closely.

With a thought, the Devil's Pistol shifted form, transforming into a rugged revolver.

So that's what the shape change means.

He stroked his chin thoughtfully.

[Infinite Demonic Power][Heart of Magic][Devil's Pistol]

These three together... they could be terrifying.

Imagine a devil with unlimited firepower.

"But my level hasn't budged."

Kaiser could feel the slight increase in strength.

Yet for someone already at Demon King class, adding a single Low-Class servant offered only marginal gains.

It seemed that after his initial leap, further growth wouldn't come easily.

He shook his head, turning his attention to Akemi, who was deeply engrossed in practicing magic.

"Sis, watch out—you're about to flash something."

Shiho noticed Kaiser's stare and realized her sister's inner layer had slipped from her intense focus. She quickly warned her.

"Ah!"

Akemi stiffened.

She'd completely forgotten.

Flushing, she hurried to pull her outer garment back on, fumbling in her haste.

Shiho shot Kaiser a glare, then sighed.

At this rate...

It really would end with both sisters in his bed.

Once Akemi had straightened her clothes, Kaiser let out a small, regretful breath before asking, "By the way, do you know where the Black Organization's headquarters is?"

"Master, you're going after them?"

Akemi's eyes lit up.

She harbored nothing but hatred for that group.

If revenge was on the table, even magic lost its appeal.

"Exactly. They're an eyesore."

Kaiser nodded. "And it wouldn't hurt to relieve them of some wealth while we're at it."

He had Shiho's generous wallet, but he couldn't rely on that forever.

A devil short on cash?

Akemi's mind briefly short-circuited.

"So... do you know or not?"

She shook her head. "No."

"..."

Then why the excitement?

Akemi continued, "But Vermouth would definitely know."

"She's in this country. I can try luring her out."

"That works."

A glint passed through Kaiser's eyes.

He wondered if Vermouth qualified as a servant candidate.

Nearby, Shiho—busy jotting down magic tips for her sister—caught the shift in Kaiser's expression. Her pen paused.

Then she sighed and resumed writing, pressing harder until the table creaked.

Meanwhile, Akemi pulled out her phone and began typing.

[Akemi Miyano: I need to meet you. Is that possible?]

[Vermouth: A low-level member like you doesn't have clearance to see me.]

[Akemi Miyano: It's about Shiho.]

[Vermouth: Come to this address...]

After securing the meeting, Akemi exhaled in relief. "Master, Vermouth agreed."

"But it's in another city—we probably won't make it in time."

"Don't measure devils by human standards."

Kaiser smiled, channeling his demonic power.

A magic circle flared briefly.

In an instant, all three vanished from the villa.

...

Night fell like ink.

The moon hung high and clear.

Staring at the distant docks, Shiho's expression grew complicated.

Just days ago, she never would have imagined voluntarily approaching that witch.

Instinctively, she glanced at Kaiser beside her.

All of this...

Was because of this man.

Gradually, her gaze softened into quiet adoration.

Yes.

As long as he was with her, nothing in the world could frighten her anymore.

At the same time...

Farther ahead, a figure appeared before Akemi.

A blonde woman in sleek black leather.

She carried an air of refined elegance, but her eyes were razor-sharp.

Tall and curvaceous—a rare mature beauty.

Several men in black stood rigidly behind her.

"Vermouth, do you really need bodyguards just to meet a low-level member like me?"

Akemi smiled faintly at the escorts.

"Can't be too careful."

Vermouth shrugged, her tone neutral. "Enough small talk. That person is very interested in your sister."

"They desperately want to know if she's alive or dead."

"Shiho is alive, of course."

Akemi replied calmly. "But I'm not here to deliver that news."

"I'm here to end the organization."

"???"

Vermouth's face filled with question marks as she stared at Akemi in disbelief.

She didn't seem drunk.

Why spout such nonsense?

Did this woman have a death wish?

Tap, tap, tap.

At that moment, crisp footsteps echoed from the shadows.

Vermouth turned instinctively.

A young man and woman emerged slowly from the darkness.

"Master, are we sure this Vermouth is the real one?"

"Yes. No disguise. Our caution was unnecessary."

Kaiser nodded.

To avoid Vermouth sending a disguised subordinate—or not showing at all—he'd held back initially, not wanting to spook her prematurely.
