Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 No need for villa and money

Samuel looked around, the soft light shining on his tall and straight body, leaving a shadow.

"Which room is she in?" he asked in a low voice.

"The second living room on the left on the second floor." Mrs. Sophia turned around, retreating into the darkness where the wall lamp could not be seen.

"Aunt Sophia, go to bed first." After speaking, his thin lips pursed tightly.

Samuel walked step by step upstairs. This villa was also very unfamiliar to him, because he had never cared about anything other than paying the land rent.

After getting married, he rarely came here, except when his grandmother urged him.

Turn the doorknob, and the room was empty, gloomy, and cold.

Was it like this before when he came here?

Samuel opened the window, and a gust of wind blew into his face. The early autumn wind should have been cool, but at this moment, it made people shiver.

But the view here was extremely good; you could see the flowers in the garden, and every movement of the guards.

If Samuel thought carefully, he would remember that every time he came here, the lights in this room were always on, and Natalie was always dressed neatly to welcome him.

But he couldn't think that much.

In the quiet room, every breath was amplified, and the changes in emotions couldn't be hidden.

Samuel tightened his grip on the doorknob and closed the door.

"Master, all your belongings are in the master bedroom." Aunt Sophia had been standing outside the door the whole time, not returning to the bedroom.

Samuel's eyes were fierce, and his whole body was in a state of defense and fighting. This had been a habit for many years. Fortunately, he stopped in time.

He slowly withdrew his expression, coughed a few times, and looked indifferent. He was about to say that he wouldn't stay here tonight, when he suddenly remembered that this villa had been given to Natalie as a divorce condition.

The reason he kept the things in the villa was to show his grandmother a play, and she never seemed uncooperative.

"Ah."

Samuel walked towards the master bedroom, and Aunt Sophia quietly followed behind.

The master bedroom was decorated very warmly, the bedding and living utensils were all available, his clothes were neatly arranged in the closet, and everything seemed to be the same.

In fact, this world was upside down; there was nothing related to Natalie here, it seemed that she had never appeared in this villa, except for the huge wedding photo hanging on the wall.

Samuel stared at the photo on the wall, where the two were respectfully treating each other like honored guests. She smiled, her eyebrows curved, and he felt very strange in his heart.

This was her villa, yet she took all her belongings away, leaving only this photo.

"Aunt Sophia, when will she come back?" Samuel asked softly.

Aunt Sophia thought of Natalie's resolute appearance as she left the villa, and sighed sadly: "Master, she won't come back."

"She won't come back? Isn't this place already hers?"

"She doesn't want this villa." Aunt Sophia lowered her head, her hands clenched.

"She doesn't want it?" Samuel didn't believe it. When she signed the divorce papers, she had clearly negotiated with him, afraid that she would get less.

Aunt Sophia clenched her hands, annoyed, and said, "Not only does she not want this villa, but she doesn't even want the 2 billion you gave her."

The atmosphere suddenly froze.

Aunt Sophia regretted her words, promising to keep it a secret from Natalie.

The image of Natalie appearing at the Nebula nightclub appeared in Samuel's mind; his eyes darkened. "What's going on?"

No home, no money.

Although Aunt Sophia was afraid of Samuel, she still stayed by Natalie's side day and night, knowing that she was kind, not wanting her to be misunderstood.

"Master, this is the charity relief fund you promised her. Have you forgotten?"

Samuel frowned, thinking for a moment, Which charity fund? How could he not know?

But when Aunt Sophia said that, he really remembered it.

During the New Year, he had a party to celebrate and drank a lot, but he couldn't go back to his old house; his grandmother had sent someone to watch him, so he came here. At that time, he seemed to have promised to give Natalie a charity fund, but after waking up, he didn't remember anything.

But why didn't she say it clearly?

"Aunt Sophia, it's late, you go and rest first." Samuel sat down in the chair and ordered.

"Yes." Aunt Sophia finished saying what should and shouldn't be said, then turned and left.

Samuel sat in this deserted room for a long time, finally dialing the phone.

"Oliver." He whispered, "Check where the 2 billion went? Oh, by the way, let's see whose name this villa is in."

"Yes." Oliver turned on the computer.

Soon, Samuel received a new message.

2 billion, no more, no less, all donated to the Irish Charity Fund under Samuel's name, mainly used to help children with congenital heart disease overcome this disease.

Another message was the real estate book of the villa. The name on it was still Samuel, and Natalie had never transferred the name.

Samuel stared silently for a long time, his deep eyes reflecting the lines on the screen.

He finally understood that what Natalie said at the Nebula nightclub, "It seems like you really forgot," meant he had forgotten something.

How many things about her did he not know?

Samuel gripped the phone tightly, his fingertips turning slightly white.

"Oliver, book a ticket to New York tomorrow morning."

"Yes."

---

After the autumn equinox, the first rain of autumn had fallen on New York, and it rained continuously. Walking on the ancient street with an oil-paper umbrella, it felt like being lost in the dim alleys south of the river.

"Natalie, look at me."

With a "click" sound, Zoe ran to Natalie with the camera, jealously saying: "Natalie, your figure is so beautiful. If I were a man, I would definitely be immersed in a beautiful dream."

The fresh and graceful dress further accentuated her perfect figure. The hand-embroidered, classic, clear phoenix eyes were both charming and sexy.

Natalie smiled slightly, she brushed the drizzle off her skirt, and raised her eyebrows slightly: "Zoe, I think you are very lewd, regardless of gender. The last time I saw my brother changing clothes, you did the same thing. Your expression, you should..."

Zoe quickly interrupted her, speaking loudly to hide the panic in her heart. She patted her chest and said: "I, Zoe, am greedy and lewd, but I am an upright person."

Natalie: "..."

She hadn't seen her for several years; her best friend had become a playwright.

Natalie raised her hand to break her serious expression, and sighed softly: "Hurry up and film, I still have things to do after filming."

Zoe was almost seen through by her, and immediately ran away down the stairs.

"I know you are obsessed with work when you come back, but the land for tourism development in the north of the city has not been discussed yet?" Zoe said while taking pictures.

Today, Natalie was taking promotional photos for a high-end custom-made dress studio owned by Zoe. Her demeanor and posture were perfect; she didn't bother to pay attention to her, just slightly raised her eyes to look.

A "click" sounded again.

"That's right, the eyes in this photo are really attractive, both noble and cold, and..." Zoe showed her emotions.

"Take a quick photo." Natalie interrupted mercilessly.

However, Zoe didn't continue taking photos; she looked away with an unsightly and wary expression.

"Natalie, there's a man here, let him in," Zoe said, strangely.

Natalie was about to move aside, but when she looked to the side, she saw a familiar face.

"Natalie, long time no see," Samuel said softly.
