Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: I will save you

My name is Ta Yen Thuong, I'm twenty-three years old, and I'm just an ordinary salaried worker like everyone else in this city.

My life isn't anything special; I go to work in the morning and come home in the evening, repeating itself so regularly that sometimes I even forget what I'm living for.

If there's anything that makes me feel like I'm still "breathing," it's probably novels.

Especially ABO novels.

I like worlds with their own order, with Alphas, Betas, Omegas, destiny, pheromones, something called "instinct," but all covered with a very human emotional veneer.

They make me feel… at least the pain in books has a reason.

Recently, I've been reading a very popular novel online.

It tells the story of a beautiful, romantic love, praised by countless people.

But I can't focus on the two main characters.

What held me back was the villain.

He made countless mistakes, was rejected by the world, and cursed by everyone.

Yet, every time I read about his ending, a suffocating feeling welled up inside me.

I didn't think he deserved to die.

I just felt… he never had a choice.

"If only someone had stood by him," I thought countless times.

That night, I read until very late.

The lights in the room had gone out at some point, but my phone screen was still dimly lit. I only remember that I was about to put the phone down when my eyelids grew heavy.

My consciousness gradually faded into darkness.

When I opened my eyes again, what I saw was no longer the familiar ceiling.

The air was unfamiliar.

The scent was different too.

I jumped up, confused and panicked, instinctively looking around. This room was completely unlike my old rented room... it was bigger, cleaner, everything felt eerily unfamiliar.

"Where am I...?"

My voice was hoarse with panic.

At that moment, a cold voice echoed in my head, seemingly from nowhere.

...The system is activating.

I jumped, my mind blank.

The voice continued, and at the same time, a hazy light appeared before me:

"Hello, host. I am the auxiliary system, Little Meow Meow. You can call me Meow Meow."

I was almost speechless, just standing there staring at the bright light hovering in the air, a little dazed...

I thought to myself, "Could it be that I... transmigrated?"

Meow Meow spoke calmly, as if what I was experiencing was just a minor error in the process. It explained that due to a system error, I had been mistakenly transported to this world.

"If the host wishes," it said, "you can leave at any time."

That statement left me silent for a long time.

Leave?

I looked at the unfamiliar room, at my hands that were no longer entirely my own. In my mind, the image of that villain, "Han Yuqi," suddenly appeared vividly.

I took a deep breath, then slowly said:

"Let me stay."

Miao Miao seemed surprised for a split second, then quickly reverted to its robotic tone:

"Confirmed. Have a pleasant experience, host."

Immediately afterward, the sound disappeared.

The room fell silent again.

I stood up and walked to the mirror.

The person in the mirror stunned me.

That face… was mine, but younger, with slightly softer features.

My name is Ta Yen Thuong, exactly like mine.

As memories gradually flooded my mind, this person was an orphan. Thanks to an unexpected land clearance, he received a large compensation, enough to live comfortably without too much worry.

A life I never had.

What surprised me most was...

I am now a teacher.

And the place where I work... is the school of Han Yu Qi.

The villain I once pitied in the book.

The person I thought, if I had the chance, I would definitely stand by him.

I looked at myself in the mirror, my heart slowly calming down.

Perhaps...

this wasn't just a simple mistake.

Since it's come to this,

then this time I won't let him meet that end again.
