Evie woke up groggily. She looked around but found no one. She sat up, stretching, trying to recall how she got to bed the previous night. She then remembered Reign carrying her from their walk, which made her smile. He is at least trying now, she thought. Although she was still afraid of forgiving him for what happened previously, she decided now that she was pregnant to let bygones be bygones. She would not let him back into her heart, but she would try to act cordial with him, at least maybe for the sake of their baby. "You are not even here, but you are solving fights," she said, touching her stomach with a smile.
The baby and the pregnancy were softening her heart. If it was before, her doors would still be closed, but now here she was, even holding a mini party in her garden. Although it was scary to carry a pregnancy in this era, she still felt happy about it. She was taking her medications well and following the physician's orders.
