Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: The Real Big Trouble

As soon as Grandmaster's words fell.

The rustling sound came from the surrounding bushes again.

It sounded like some kind of reptile was moving quickly.

A faint, foul, fishy smell also began to permeate the air.

Tang San's nose twitched, and he immediately blurted out: "Something poisonous!"

As he spoke, Tang San took out a fire starter from his waist and threw it towards the source of the sound.

The fire starter ignited as soon as it caught the wind, instantly illuminating that area.

Seeing the figure in the firelight, Grandmaster exclaimed in shock:

"It's actually a Datura Snake? Why would this kind of spirit beast appear here?"

Hiss hiss—

The Datura Snake seemed angered by the fire starter. Its head slowly rose, its cold eyes fixed intently on Luo Sanpao.

Its dark purple tongue flickered in and out.

Then, its body coiled and sprang, shooting straight towards Luo Sanpao.

"Fart like thunder, shake the heavens and split the earth, Luo Sanpao!"

Grandmaster didn't hesitate for a moment, releasing his spirit skill.

Luo Sanpao also sensed the danger.

As its belly bulged.

Boom—

A yellow light shield erupted, directly enveloping the Datura Snake.

Although the Datura Snake was very fast, Luo Sanpao's attack was area-of-effect.

Therefore, the Datura Snake's entire body was instantly sent flying.

Its nearly four-meter-long serpentine body was exposed in the firelight.

Seeing this, Grandmaster's pupils contracted sharply. Without even bothering to explain, he immediately shouted:

"Little San, run!"

"Fart like mist, hypnotic slumber Luo Sanpao!"

Boom—

Yellow smoke spread again, but this time the spirit skill's effect was control.

Tang San didn't know how strong the Datura Snake was, but he could tell from Grandmaster's expression that this spirit beast was beyond their ability to handle.

So the moment Grandmaster finished speaking, he swiftly retreated.

Meanwhile, the Datura Snake, after suffering two attacks from Luo Sanpao, was still completely unscathed.

It was thoroughly enraged.

Its body twisted rapidly, launching itself towards Grandmaster.

Grandmaster immediately ordered:

"Sanpao, stop it!"

Luo Sanpao received the command and immediately rolled forward, charging at the Datura Snake.

However, the difference in strength between the two was too great.

The Datura Snake turned in mid-air, dodging Luo Sanpao, and even managed to bite it hard on the body.

Luo Sanpao let out a miserable cry and fell to the ground.

Grandmaster's face paled as he withdrew Luo Sanpao.

His heart was filled with despair.

The ferocious Datura Snake was closing the distance between them bit by bit, and it seemed about to catch up.

In such a critical moment, there was only one person who wasn't panicked at all, even yawning comfortably.

"Sigh, Grandmaster, oh Grandmaster. Look at you. Without the strength, you dare to take Tang San alone to hunt spirit beasts. You disdain the ten-year ones, can't beat the hundred-year ones, and in the end, Tang San has to solve this trouble himself."

"If Tang San weren't a transmigrator with cheats, there'd be nothing more for you later."

Zhou Fan watched the scene on the screen in front of him, casually fiddling with the Misfortune Talisman.

He didn't need to watch to know the outcome of the subsequent plot.

Just as the Datura Snake was about to catch up with them, Tang San made his move. Using his previous life's peerless techniques, he killed the Datura Snake after a close call.

And Tang San smoothly absorbed his first spirit ring.

During the absorption process, Zhou Fan could clearly feel soul power continuously flowing into his body.

His body also underwent some changes as the spirit ring was absorbed.

The originally turquoise-blue tender leaves now had a deeper color.

Zhou Fan didn't feel much about this. Aside from turning human, any other changes were the same to him.

After absorbing the spirit ring, Tang San felt the increase in soul power within him and was inwardly pleased.

He instinctively looked for Grandmaster.

But when he saw Grandmaster lying weakly on the ground, his face black and purple, his expression changed dramatically.

"Not good! Teacher's been poisoned!"

Tang San crouched down to check Grandmaster's condition.

Fortunately, the poison hadn't spread throughout his body, which relieved him.

However, as he prepared to treat Grandmaster, he hesitated.

"My trump cards have been discovered by the teacher. Should I kill him to silence him?"

For Tang San, his secrets absolutely could not be known by others.

And just now, in order to kill the Datura Snake, he had already revealed many techniques that didn't belong to this world.

Grandmaster was now at the end of his rope.

Even if he did nothing, Grandmaster wouldn't live long once the poison spread.

But after thinking for a moment, he still chose to save Grandmaster.

"He is my teacher, after all. And the teacher has treated me well. I can't be an ungrateful person."

With that, he took out a small knife and cut Grandmaster's arm.

While Tang San was focused on detoxifying the poison.

A spirit beast, nearly ten meters long and resembling a Datura Snake, seemed drawn by some force, slowly moving towards their direction.

Time passed minute by minute.

A sliver of dawn gradually rose on the horizon.

After a night of treatment, the black-purple color on Grandmaster's face finally faded, though he still looked somewhat pale.

He slowly opened his eyes. When he saw Tang San, he said in surprise:

"Little San! I'm not dead?"

"Yes, Teacher, you're alive and well."

Tang San nodded in reply.

Grandmaster looked at the bandaged wound on his hand, then at the darkened soil on the ground, his expression slightly surprised:

"Was it you who saved me?"

"I learned how to deal with snake venom from my father before. It just happened to come in handy this time."

Tang San nodded, explaining with an excuse.

Grandmaster didn't doubt this.

Moreover, what concerned him most now was Tang San's spirit ring.

"Little San, you succeeded, right? Let me see quickly."

Upon hearing this, Tang San focused his mind.

A yellow ring immediately rose from beneath his feet.

A faint white light appeared on the surface of the skin of his right hand.

Immediately after, deep blue Blue Silver Grass surged from his palm.

Seeing this, Grandmaster instinctively took two steps back, deliberately increasing the distance.

Before Grandmaster could speak, Tang San activated his first spirit skill.

Ten strands of Blue Silver Grass instantly erupted from the grass, swiftly entangling a large tree.

Then Tang San grabbed the other end of the Blue Silver Grass and pulled hard.

The Blue Silver Grass instantly pulled taut, but showed no signs of breaking.

The more Grandmaster looked, the brighter the light in his eyes became.

"It worked! It worked! My theory worked!"

Seeing this, Tang San was also very happy inside.

Having a teacher with near-invincible theoretical knowledge was crucial for him.

He was very glad he hadn't killed Grandmaster.

However, just as the two were preparing to pack up and return to the academy.

The rustling sound, along with the sound of branches snapping, came from around them again.

This time, the foul, fishy smell became even stronger.

A thin layer of poisonous mist could vaguely be seen in the air.

Grandmaster, who had just recovered, smelled the odor in the air, and his face instantly turned ugly.

"Little San, something's coming again! This one might be even more troublesome than the Datura Snake."

Tang San had also sensed it. His brow furrowed heavily, and his left hand inconspicuously gripped his right hand.

The rustling sounds around them grew louder and louder, as if right beside their ears.

Then, they saw the bushes not far away being split apart by some creature.

It was moving towards them at an extremely fast speed.

The next moment.

A long, black shadow suddenly shot out, its gaping maw opening wide, its sharp fangs glinting coldly.

Seeing the black shadow, Tang San's pupils contracted sharply.

"This is…"
