Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: Time to Go Home

Time hadn't exactly flown by in this world that felt both strange and familiar, where they'd encountered all sorts of people.

By the time they'd spent about twenty hours here…

Vya had already flown the three of them across most of the world.

"Overall, the human geography of this world isn't too different from our own," Einstein remarked, standing on the observation deck as she flipped through the data on her recorder.

"No, there's the most important point of all—this world has no Honkai," Mobius added, leaning against the railing as the sea breeze tousled her long green hair.

Over the past stretch of time, they'd visited some out-of-the-way corners too, and if even those places showed no signs of a Honkai outbreak…

"…Then it means this world simply has no Honkai at all."

Now they had returned to the coastal city where they'd started, the ocean winds brushing past them.

Their parallel-world "counterparts" seemed to have all gone back as well.

Mobius gazed out at the sea.

"What a lucky world this is."

"Mhm, and equally lucky is that in this world, we still found each other too~"

Elysia said with a smile.

Einstein, meanwhile, was pondering other matters.

Their own world was being gradually eroded by Honkai, while this parallel one enjoyed pure peace.

It felt deeply unfair.

"Alright, let's go back."

After glimpsing such beauty, returning to face tragedy—now that would truly be joy turning to sorrow…

But if you were strong enough, you could just pretend those words didn't exist.

Passing back through that gate, the familiar scene, the familiar sense of fragmentation.

Except perhaps for slight differences in those miniature frozen moments…

The Abyss, the deepest part of the laboratory.

The area had been sealed off.

Before leaving, Einstein had casually sent out an experiment notification.

No one was permitted near here for now.

"Ah, we're finally back. Seeing so many people pay me no mind really doesn't feel too great, you know~"

Mobius and Einstein were momentarily speechless; they knew exactly how much fun Elysia had actually been having.

"We're back~!"

Vya seemed to cheer up as well.

That point Mobius noted quite clearly.

Vya hadn't seemed very engaged in the other world.

Even when seeing their parallel-world selves…

Her gaze had been as if looking at strangers…

Vya was well aware of the reason—the light of that world felt far too unfamiliar.

It reminded her suddenly of when she had run away from home back then.

Even with her sisters by her side, she still felt a little… unhappy.

"So, can we go visit that world again?"

"It's unlikely. If we enter now, it would probably be a completely different world."

"But I still want to see how the other versions of us are doing~"

"..."

Einstein sighed. "I'll record the quantum fluctuation frequency from that period. If we enter again at the same frequency, it's likely the same world."

But the probability was exceedingly low—like taking a drop of water from the ocean, tossing it back, and trying to find that exact drop again.

Einstein had just calculated carefully; the time flow difference wasn't significant, meaning both worlds moved forward in the same direction.

And so, the matter was set aside for the time being.

This incident wasn't made public, much like the Honkai disasters themselves.

'That world is so beautiful, which means we must work hard to write our own story too-'
