When a quiet teenage boy with obsidian black hair streaked with crimson and silver transfers to Forks High School, he draws attention without trying. His black purple eyes, dark as polished stone, seem to notice things no one else does especially the Cullens.

Unlike Bella Swan, he doesn’t fall blindly into the mystery.

And unlike the vampires, he is not immortal yet something about him unsettles them all.

As rain falls endlessly over Forks, the balance between humans, vampires, and werewolves begins to shift. The boy is not a savior, not a monster, and not a chosen one just a human standing at the edge of truths that should never be known.
