Chapter 1 - preordained

Her black long sleeved shirt fit immaculately into her torso betraying her perfectly curvaceous figure. Her trousers were black as well, aligning with her shoes to form the perfect uniform.

Her hair was dark and short, Her upturned eyes even darker. They both contrasted her smooth white skin.

She had unparalleled beauty, even a person with the poorest of vision could see that much.

Her name was Naomi Nazuna, she'd just turned 18 two months ago .

She began scanning the perimeter, surrounding her were withered brown trees and a severely scorched ground .

She'd been allowed here because she possessed the sixth limb,a deformation within the brain that allowed it to send neuron signals to objects and natural phenomena leaving a human capable of controlling them as an extra limb.

She'd made it far enough into the forest, and decided there was no one to be found here.

Her current objective was supposed to be to be finding trespassers but not a single soul had shown itself throughout her journey .

"Just as I thought the aryans didn't come here. it's safe to say no one's trespassing, at least for now"

Thus she decided to go on a little detour .

She began looking for a room, one that looked big enough to fit atleast a hundred people, a space that served as a time capsule. she'd heard of rooms like this but had never actually seen one .

She'd been informed of its existence nearby before her descent into the forest. The only information she had on it was its close resemblance to a box.

The sun's light gave away its location hundreds of meters away, she spotted it after her detour in no time.

It looked like a box of metal, silver colored with a plain rectangular door serving as the entrance.

Within it was a single person. he rested his head on a table while sitting on a wooden chair

He was asleep.

Suddenly his upper body swiftly jerked backward , Was I asleep ? He blinked repeatedly. "how long has it been?"

I've spent enough time here ,it wouldn't be safe to stay longer. Using his right arm to rub across his eyes he rose from the chair .

Right now he couldn't see . He'd previously slammed the entrance shut. He'd also turned off the screen that served as his main source of illumination.

"The door is in this direction if I recall"

He picked his bag up and headed towards the entrance but stumbled across a piece of metal on the floor.

"Maybe switching the lights off was a bad idea".

He began moving again but halted just as quickly, the sharp sound of steel scraping against itself had reached his hearing .

Without rolling the door it was impossible for any amount of sound made outside to even remotely penetrate the room but yet the noise had somehow reached him .

"Someone's here".

This was the second time in exactly 13 months an individual had made it to this place .

The rectangular steel gate that served as the only entrance to the room was being rolled open. The piercing sounds of steel scraping over each other steadily filled the entire room.

"Probably a wandering civilian", he guessed internally. "But on the off chance it's one of the Aryans I'd most likely have to eliminate them before things escalate ".

He reached inside the bag sprawled on the ground pulling out a mask and a red balloon with a chain connecting the latter to a tiny metal ball.

He put the mask on and immediately threw the metal ball in the direction of the entrance. the balloon popped within the darkness, the sound reverberating throughout the room.

Now then let's see ....

His thoughts were cut short, the figure behind the door was already visible, the gate had been rolled open, the sun's light irradiated the room completely , he jerked his head away immediately in order to avoid its brightness .

He'd been holed up in the dark for three hours, immediate exposure to the sun's light wasn't exactly a welcome development for his eyes.

"Oh? there's someone here?" The voice of the figure standing at the entrance reached him forcing him to look towards the entrance once again.

"That arm band ! the NEW ORDER!"

"You're hiding your face?. I'm surprised, I didn't think you people were cowards".

"You people? she's mistaken me for one of the Aryans!".

Her lips twisted into a smile, she opened her left hand revealing a grey matchbox. She lit a match and threw it in his direction .

Not even half way through the match's flame suddenly became huge enough to engulf a grown man !

The flame suddenly compressed itself into a single point. he dived to his Left and a split second later the condensed fire shot across the room towards the his previous position , a spear of light flashed across missing it's target only narrowly.

"What the.... a sixth limb?

"He dodged? Lucky bastard!"

The heat from the the previous attack began condensing in an attempt to repeat itself."This should finish him"

And then it happened, she felt her surroundings begin to spin , dizziness overtook her mind, she fell to the floor and Slowly began losing consciousness her vision getting blurrier by the second.

"Finally, I was beginning to wonder what was taking so long"

"What did you..."

The balloon he'd popped earlier just seconds before her entrance contained an anaesthetic that took effect almost instantly

It was a proactive measure that ensured his survival as long as he resisted fatal harm .

Upon closer inspection he'd realized something "She young, probably the same age as me ".

He carefully dragged her towards the wall, positioned her upright and returned to his vacant seating position .

He was in awe. He'd read so much about people like her, individuals capable of manifesting superhuman phenomenon. He couldn't have imagined seeing one today,he didn't even think people like that were still alive!

" Seeing the real thing is way more impressive, how many people like this still exist? If they could afford to send her doesn't that mean the military has others that are equal or even more powerful ? amazing. Was she manipulating flames? they could even use her as some sort of bomb ,did they force her to join because of that?"

He took one look at the entrance and returned his gaze to the unconscious body inside the room.

"I'm gonna have a lot of explaining to do when she wakes up".

" wait. if she delays her return won't they send someone to look for her? this is bad! how was I supposed to know it was the military? Shit, now I really do need her to wake up " .
