Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Tang Wutong

Finally, everyone's gaze turned to Lin Xiuran.

Lin Xiuran thought for a moment and replied, "It should be the wife of Spirit Ice Douluo, Dragon Butterfly Douluo Tang Wutong."

But everyone else's expressions turned strange. Xie Xie asked doubtfully, "I remember Dragon Butterfly Douluo wasn't Spirit Ice Douluo's wife."

  Tang Wulin nodded in agreement.

"Ah?" Now it was Lin Xiuran's turn to be puzzled. He couldn't possibly be wrong; they were the male and female protagonists of Peerless Tang Sect, how could he be wrong?

Wu Changkong calmly explained, "The one you fought was indeed Dragon Butterfly Douluo, but she wasn't Spirit Ice Douluo's wife."

Lin Xiuran fell silent. It seemed this Douluo was different from the one he knew. Was it because of him, the butterfly?

That shouldn't be the case; he came from this era, how could he affect the past?

Wu Changkong assumed Lin Xiuran had misremembered and continued, "You don't need to be discouraged at all. Those who defeated you were all legendary figures. And if you can improve in the Hall of Heroes, you might even have the chance to face the trials of the original Shrek Seven Devils in the future."

  "I'll join!"

Tang Wulin was the first to respond; there was no doubt about it. Tang San's arrangement had taken effect.

Xie Xie hesitated for a moment before saying, "I'll join too."

Wu Changkong said, "Don't rush into a decision. You can go back and ask your family."

Xie Xie shook his head and said, "No need. I don't want to miss this opportunity. Teacher Wu, I'll join. I also believe I can convince my family."

At this moment, the two naturally turned their gaze to Gu Yue. Having been together for so long, they naturally wanted her to join as well.

However, Gu Yue shook her head: "I'm sorry, Teacher Wu, I won't join."

Tang Wulin couldn't help but ask, "Why?"

"I already have an organization I want to join, I can't join the Tang Sect." Gu Yue was calm. The Spirit Pagoda would be a crucial part of her plan, so she had to join.

Although the others felt it was a pity, there was nothing they could do; it was a personal choice, and they couldn't control others.

At this moment, everyone's gaze naturally turned to Lin Xiuran, who was the only one who hadn't made a choice yet.

In fact, Lin Xiuran wanted to join, but before he could speak, Wu Changkong interrupted him.

"You don't need to join the Tang Sect."

Lin Xiuran was puzzled, as were the others; why would Wu Changkong object?

Wu Changkong shook his head and sighed, "I won't harm you. If you really join, you'll definitely regret it in the future."

Lin Xiuran didn't doubt it much, simply nodding, "Okay, Teacher Wu, I'll listen to you."

He had no reason to doubt Wu Changkong; the other party had been incredibly kind to him these past few days. Not only had she taken care of him in the hospital for several days, but she had also brought him into Class Zero.

Gu Yue, standing to the side, looked at Lin Xiuran with a slightly brightened gaze, a thoughtful expression on her face.

"Alright. That concludes today's test. Afterwards, you'll need to fill out a series of forms, and then you'll be members of the Tang Sect's outer sect. I'll tell you everything about the Tang Sect later, including its rules, benefits, and obligations."

Then there was basically nothing else to do; they took the bus back as usual. Having finished their final exams, the next day was their holiday, so they had to stay at the academy for another day.

Late at night, Lin Xiuran was still thinking about where to go for the holiday. He really had nowhere to go except the academy.

But it didn't really matter; he just wanted to become stronger, and cultivating in the dormitory was the same.

Just as he was pondering this, a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.

  "The door's unlocked, come in."

As the door opened, the girl's figure appeared, with black hair and black eyes, and a cool and aloof demeanor; it was Gu Yue.

  "Hello, Lin Xiuran."

Lin Xiuran was somewhat surprised by her arrival, but still responded, "Hello, is there something you need?"

Gu Yue nodded slightly, then said, "I have something to tell you."

"Sit down first, no rush." Lin Xiuran was quite polite, bringing out a chair for her to sit down.

Gu Yue sat down, glanced around Lin Xiuran's room, and then explained, "I wanted to invite you to join the Spirit Pagoda organization."

"Spirit Pagoda?" Lin Xiuran was slightly taken aback; he hadn't expected her to invite him.

But Wu Changkong had told him today that besides the Tang Sect, he could consider the Spirit Pagoda. After all, joining a powerful organization was good for future development.

"We can discuss it." Lin Xiuran nodded. Although many Spirit Pagoda members suffered later on, joining this currently wealthiest organization wouldn't be a loss. At least there would be certain benefits.

Seeing Lin Xiuran's willingness, Gu Yue smiled slightly. She was still very curious about Lin Xiuran and naturally hoped he would join her so she could learn more about him.

She then began to tell him some details.

Meanwhile, within Lin Xiuran's spiritual sea, a young girl was leisurely leaning against a piece of empty space, looking at the scene outside, her brows slightly furrowed.

"This guy, he met the Silver Dragon King so quickly, is it fate?"

The girl shook her head, swaying her fair legs and playing with her long, pinkish-blue hair draped over her shoulders.

  "Fate..."

Suddenly, a voice rang in Tang Wutong's ears, causing her pupils to widen abruptly, and she hurriedly looked back.

Silver hair, purple eyes, aloof and peerless—she recognized this person!

"Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King!!? What are you doing here?"

She rubbed her eyes, seemingly unable to believe it, looking at the person outside, then shook her head in disbelief.

"That's not right, the person outside is definitely the Silver Dragon King."

Gu Yuena chuckled, looking at the girl's incredulous expression. "Since you still retain a divine consciousness in this world…"

"Of course, I'm worried about him." Tang Wutong said almost instinctively, forgetting the problem she was facing.

Tang Wutong scrutinized Gu Yuena for a moment, then asked, "You're also a divine consciousness? Why is it so severely shattered?"

Gu Yuena didn't answer, only staring calmly at Gu Yue outside.

Although Tang Wutong didn't know what was going on, she still asked, "You've regained your memories? But the one outside doesn't seem to have."

"If he hadn't sealed my memories, how could I have ended up like this?"

Gu Yuena said coldly, her eyes filled with a chilling coldness.

Tang Wutong wasn't angry at the other person mentioning her father; instead, she showed a sympathetic expression: "There's nothing I can do. If I hadn't been forcibly kept under surveillance, you wouldn't have ended up like this."

Gu Yuena glanced at her indifferently, then said, "You paid a heavy price, didn't you, with this divine sense?"

Tang Wutong gave a bitter smile, then her eyes shone with a glimmer of hope as she said, "But I think it was all worth it." (

This chapter is likely a bit angsty, but not much. Don't worry, the ending will be good.)
