Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Pirate Crew Name: Blood Spear PiratesCaptain: "Blood Spear" LugartBounty: 69,000,000 Berries(Reduced escalation due to retreat from the Grand Line and avoidance of further high-level conflict)Age: 42Origin: Former royal guard of a warring nation in the West Blue

Psychological Profile:Obsessed with "aesthetic slaughter." He deliberately controls the flow of blood during battle, allowing his victims to bleed slowly to death. After suffering a crushing defeat in the Grand Line, he developed a deep loathing for the so-called "game of the strong," choosing instead to vent his hatred by tormenting the weak.

"Gern, this is everything we have on the Blood Spear Pirates."

Branch Chief Asahi slid a thick manila folder across the desk, rubbing his hands together as he did so, his face stretched into an ingratiating smile.

"I had to pull some strings with an old contact in the South Blue to get this level of detail."

"Much appreciated."Gern accepted the file and flipped it open.

"Lugart may be from the West Blue originally," Asahi continued, leaning closer. The smell of cheap cologne and stale cigar smoke washed over him."But he went south and served as a royal guard for one of those warmongering kingdoms. Eventually, greed got the better of him—he slaughtered his own employers and fled, forming a pirate crew."

Asahi tapped a red seal stamped on the document."See this? That's a 'High-Risk Threat' designation from the South Blue branch."

Gern skimmed the pages quickly, his eyes lingering on phrases like Grand Line and 69 million bounty.

"He raided seven merchant fleets and wiped out two Marine outposts," Asahi continued. "Extremely brutal methods."

"So he ran back to the West Blue to play tyrant?" Gern closed the file with a soft exhale.

Asahi's expression darkened. He leaned forward, his chair creaking beneath his weight.

"Gern… this one's different. He's nothing like the twenty-million-berry trash you've dealt with before. Anyone who survives the first half of the Grand Line and still walks away—his real strength is far beyond his bounty."

Gern tapped the table lightly, the rhythm steady and calm.

He knew that much already. After all, even Luffy's bounty after defeating Arlong had only been thirty million.

Bounties weren't perfect indicators—but they were never meaningless either.

"Don't worry, Branch Chief," Gern said as he stood. Sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting broken shadows across his face. "I value my life."

"Good! Very good!" Asahi quickly stood as well, bumping his belly against the desk in his haste. "Because what awaits you at Marine Headquarters… those are real monsters."

Before their conversation could continue, hurried footsteps echoed down the hall.

The office door burst open.

"Report!" the adjutant shouted, breathless, clutching a document."Branch Chief! Ashen Harbor in the West Blue is under attack by the Blood Spear Pirates! The local militia is requesting immediate support!"

Asahi froze.

"So soon?" His face stiffened. "Weren't they supposed to still be in the South Blue?"

"They changed course," the adjutant replied.

Bang!

Asahi slammed his fist onto the desk.

"Those damn animals! They barely crawl back from the Grand Line and immediately start tearing up my territory?!"

Beside him, Gern's gaze sharpened as he looked down at the file in his hands.

"Orders, sir?" the adjutant asked urgently.

Asahi drew a breath, about to speak—

—but Gern was already walking toward the door.

"Hey—Gern?" Asahi called out in shock. "What are you doing?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Gern replied without turning back."I'm heading to Ashen Harbor."

"Wait!" Asahi rushed after him."Didn't I just say they're far stronger than the pirates you've faced before?! And didn't you just say you valued your life—?!"

Gern stopped.

Then, slowly, he turned his head.

"I do," he said calmly."But what I meant… is that they should value theirs when they meet me."

A chill ran down Asahi's spine.

Gern's smile was thin—sharp enough to cut.

Turning away, he reached the door, pausing only briefly.

"Oh—and thanks for the intel."

Asahi waved frantically. "Of course! Of course! Our 133rd Branch is counting on you—!"

The door shut before he could finish.

In the corridor, Gern broke into a run.

I have to get there fast.

"Lieutenant Gern!" Marines snapped to attention as he passed.

"Prepare a strike team immediately. Ready the ship."

"Ashen Harbor is under attack. We depart in ten minutes."

"Yes, sir!"

He returned to his quarters, grabbed the black blade Eight Desolations, and secured it across his back.

His eyes hardened.

"Blood Spear Pirates…"

Ten minutes later, a warship departed the 133rd Branch at full speed, cutting across the waves toward Ashen Harbor.

Gern stood at the bow, sea wind whipping against his face, gaze locked on the distant horizon.

This was only one step in his plan.

The real battles lay ahead—Marine Headquarters, the monsters of the New World, and the dormant power of Haki still waiting to awaken.

"Soon…" he murmured, a faint tremor gathering in his palm before fading away.

"Lieutenant, estimated arrival in two hours!" a marine reported.

Gern nodded."Alert everyone. Prepare for combat."

"This enemy shows no mercy. Neither will we."

"Yes, sir!"

Gern's eyes narrowed as he whispered the name:

"Blood Spear… Lugart."

A cold smile crept onto his lips.

"Your head will be my ticket to the Marine Headquarters."
