Water droplets sprayed across the floor as three-year-old Randal was running away from his father fully naked.
"Randal! Come back here!"
Randal ran away from George with glee on his face, using the corners of each area in the house to escape.
He went under his father's legs and ran toward the house's study.
George fell on his knees breathing for air unable to keep up with the young energy of Randal.
"Tha-that boy is really fast for his age." He fell flat on his face, giving up on the chase.
In the study, Randal stood in front of a bookshelf with several books placed in it, each with a different colour and name or symbol on it.
"Finally I am here… Alone with you beauties"
His eyes sparkled as he stretched his hands up on the shelf to grab a brown book with a wand symbol on it.
The flexible body he was gifted with made him able to climb on the shelf with ease even though he didn't have the height for it.
"Here you are, World of Magic" he whispered as he opened the pages.
Unable to understand everything he was looking through, he could only grasp a few words and the pictures in the book.
"Ouuuu this world is really different from my former one, this world… 'Reven'. The magical beasts are really different from the animals in my previous world.
The most fascinating thing about this place is mana core and how magic works but the only thing about this book is that it doesn't go in depth about the system of its operation.
It just says to gain the first stage of magic is closing your mind, clearing it and imagining a spark within oneself."
Randal sat still and closed his eyes, the white mana core within him started to shine. He followed the instructions and began to imagine a spark.
'Spark… Spark!' he said to himself.
The white mana core started to change colour a little, the white core started to have a bluish green colour around tiny sides of the core.
The magic which Randal had attempted and failed at many years since birth began to finally take fruition.
Magic was common in Reven, but accessing it could be a difficult process but Randal was finally making a breakthrough.
The white core was slowly fading away and a teal core was taking place shining around him.
'What is this feeling? I was thinking of a spark, but now I feel warm. Did it work?' he thought.
As he was about to open his eyes Elena carried him up and pressed her cheek against his.
"Randal! Did you just do what I think you did?"
She said with glee in her voice, George came in with clothes in his hand.
"What did he do?" Curiosity crept in his voice.
Elena grabbed the clothes from his hands, dressed him up and answered.
"He gained mana all on his own! Our little genius."
She couldn't resist as she kissed Randal's face all over and hugged him close to her chest.
George saw a book wide open and picked it up, he read the opened page and finally caught a grasp of what his son achieved.
"Hmm, so you can interpret some of the basic words in this book." A bright smile popped up on his face.
"Unlocking one's mana is something most people do but mostly until they are 5-7 but you… At age 3 you have already accomplished this feat."
George walked up to him and gently patted him. "I'm proud of you!"
Those words hit Randal straight in his heart. The boy who in his previous life was not able to see eye to eye with his father.
Always seen as a disappointment by the father who raised him and never once got the love or care his other siblings received from him.
For the first time, he is receiving the warmth of a loving father.
Uncontrollably his hands stretched out to him wanting the calm that came with his father's arms.
"Awwn, he wants his father. There you go."
Elena handed him to George who spun him around in the air.
"George! Don't do that! He is still a baby."
Elena's words didn't pierce through as Randal was laughing joyfully at the love his father showed him.
Elena knocked George on the head and took Randal from him, "George, you can't be doing that, ugh. Randal time to rest in your cradle."
George laughed it off as he placed the book back into its place neatly. Elena dropped Randal gently and sang him a song.
The song was sweet and melodic, but what was going through his mind was something more, being able to unlock mana within himself.
'So I was able to gain this strength, my major aim was solely to gain what it felt like… In my past life I could not gain strength nor even do anything I dreamed of.
I don't know what this world has but I want to be able to experience it and if gaining magic is the way then I will do it.'
Randal's body gave out from the strenuous mana process and he fell asleep.
A few weeks later Randal was brought in a carriage by his parents to a beautiful mansion. Randal's eyes widened at the mere sight of the house.
He wondered why his parents brought him here. Since Randal was born his parents never took him out, only let him see the outside through the window.
They lived in a house far away from other people but today they brought him to a new place with a huge, beautiful white gate.
The gate opened up for them and Elena entered with Randal in her hands.
They were greeted by a woman with a maid holding a female baby.
The woman hugged Elena and said "Welcome Sister and this must be the apple of your eye Randal."
"Yes, and as per our agreement, you will take care of him, right?"
Randal's eyes widened and he thought to himself "Wait what!"
