Chapter 1 - Reincarted As The Arcane Dragon King

(Cover image)

[Against The Gods]

(Blue Pole Star: 3rd Person Pov)

Deep within the forests of the Floating Cloud City laid a muscular young man with long, dark blue-colored hair. He carries a sharp gaze; his eyes have black circles around them. He is dark-skinned, and on his body he bears light blue markings. His attire consists only of a high collared, black cloak, sharp red claws around his neck, a sash around his waist, a gold arm ring tightened around both his left and right upper arm, and baggy pants.

"Ugh. Fuck, my head feels like it's about to burst. It feels like someone's drilling my skull with a jackhammer."

The young man paused as unfamiliar memories flooded his brain.

"These memories…. Are Acnologia's memories?"

The young man leapt up from the ground he laid down on, his eyes sharpened as he took in his surroundings.

"Is this…. Earth land?"

The sky was dark, the forest was silent, so he sniffed the air and shook his head.

"This isn't the world of Fairy Tail. The energy this world uses is nothing like the magical energy this body is familiar with."

The young man clenched and unclenched his fists feeling the overwhelming power he had. The memories that flooded his mind was those of the original owners. From before he became a Dragon Slayer, a man who was a peaceful doctor in a small village all the way to the bloodthirsty Dragon King who's name was feared by all.

"Strangely enough these memories feel less like my own, and more like watching it from a screen like an anime. I'll take a guess and say it's to prevent me from going insane and becoming as bloodthirsty as the original Arcane Dragon? And if that's not strange enough."

Acnologia raised his palm in front of himself, and the space in front of him fractured like glass about to shatter. Spatial Manipulation…. This is the Acnologia after he had devoured the Space Between Time. But he had two arms instead of one, and his mind and body weren't separated like it was for Acnologia the first time he devoured the Space Between Time.

"Well. I'm certainly not going to complain. New world, and as the Dragon King. I wonder where I am?"

As he walked through the dense forest, he thought to himself.

'How strange. Despite not knowing what happened to me that brought me into this world, I'm surprisingly uncaring. I can't really remember much of my past life except for certain bits of information. Maybe they will return naturally one day?'

Acnologia shook his head as he continued his journey. He frowned as he noticed every single animal he saw was hiding from him.

"Well, I guess it's just their instincts warning them to not approach me unless they want to die."

As Acnologia continued his walk his ears picked up the sound of laboured breathing and the sounds of multiple footsteps, as well as the scent of blood so he turned around and rushed to where he heard the sound, vanishing from where he once stood.

If it was a local of this world, he'd have a much easier time knowing where he was, and hopefully he knows the character too.

—(Scene Break)—

Xia Qingyue had snuck into the woods at night for a light stroll. She had just been scouted by one of the Frozen Cloud Seven Fairies of the Frozen Cloud Asgard her now formal master Chu Yueli. She had imparted onto her the Frozen Cloud Arts, a technique that gave her the ice attribute.

She had already broken into the Elementary Profound Realm just days after her master taught her the technique.

She had decided to go for a late night walk in the forests to clear her mind, as she was certain she could handle herself, and in the worst case, she would run. After all, she didn't plan to go deep into the forests at all, just a few hundred meters from the entrance of the forest if only to enjoy a little fresh air from all the affairs of being the disciple of a major sect, and the daughter of a noble clan.

(Rustle) (whoosh)

The wind blew into the forest, ruffling the trees, and helping her calm her mind. She took slow and deep breaths filling her lungs with the clean air before she slowly exhaled. The sounds of the stream flowing was thoroughly relaxing for herself, she could feel her fatigue and the stress she felt slowly easing her mind and body.

"*Sigh*. That should be enough for today, I need to go back and continue cultivating. In four years, master will come to take me to the Frozen Cloud Asgard Sect. After I fulfill my marriage to my father with Xiao Che, I shall bid farewell to this home of mine."

However, just as Xia Qing Yue was preparing to leave she frowned, a troubled expression on her young face as she scanned the forest around her.

"I'm surrounded. By beasts that are at the very least are in the early and mid stages of the Elementary Realm, but some are also half step into the nascent profound realm. Forget it, all I have to do create an opening to run away. At the very least, that much I can do."

The young girls gaze turned icy cold as she activated her cultivation technique, the surrounding temperatures dropping rapidly and slowly a pack of wild wolves made their presence known. Their fangs were bared before the girl as they growled, their bodies tense and ready to pounce.

Xia Qing Yue raised her arms to her sides and in an instant she let out a blast of cold energy that either froze the wild beasts, or made them whimper from the coldness of the attack. She didn't hesitate, she rushed past the pack before her.

(BLERGH)

Xia Qing Yue coughed up blood as she found herself buried agaisnt a boulder. If she wasn't already in the Elementary Realm, she would have no doubt died on impact.

'W-What happened?'

She clearly recalled creating an opening for herself as she rushed to the forests exit, just a few hundred meters ahead of where she was earlier and yet the next thing she knew, she was buried against a boulder as she slowly got onto her feet with great difficulty and there she saw through blurry vision who she assumed to be the pack leader.

'The Half Step of Nascent Realm!? How did the city fail to notice this beasts existence?'

The wolf looked like any other wolf, with the exception of the sliver of intelligence one could see in it's eyes.

Xia Qing Yue coughed up another mouthful of blood as she huffed.

'Damn it! I can't escape like this, how am I supposed to fight a beast at the peak of Nascent realm already about to breakthrough while I'm at only the elementary realm.'

Seeing the wolf's pack leader slowly encroaching to where she was with the rest of the pack, Xia Qing Yue gritted her teeth and ran deeper into the forest. She would try and outmanoeuvre the pack, or pray a miracle happens and someone saves her before she ends up as dinner for these wild beasts.

She did everything she could think of, freezing the ground around her, moving in completely random patterns yet all of her efforts still failed her as the wolves she would have normally been able to handle albeit with great difficulty, now posed a great threat to her because of her injuries. Let alone the pack leader.

Xia Qing Yue, bleeding, and exhausted eventually collapsed against a tree. Having no energy to fight back and save herself as she was surrounded by the pack of wolves. Just as the pack leader was preparing to dig it's fangs into her throat in an instant the body exploded in a sudden burst of gore.

(BANG!) (SPLAT!)

Where once stood a glorious beast soon to breakthrough into a higher realm, in it's place was a single man with dark skin, dark blue hair and tribal markings all over his body. That was all Xia Qing Yue caught before her body fell unconscious from the injuries she sustained.

—(Break!)—

Acnologia as he was headed in the direction of the noise and smell he noticed, his face held a maniacal grin stretched so wide it looked like it came directly from a Cheshire Cat. Why? Simple, the thrill of power coursing through his body. He felt invincible, he was drunk on the feeling of moving at speeds in his previous life was only re-createble through modern technology due to the constraints of biology.

But now? Now he was free of the limitations of human biology, now having the body of a Dragon, he couldn't wait to grow all the more stronger. To feel the thrill of Deaths gaze fall upon him as he fights in a battle to the death. Soon enough, Acnologia spotted the injured person, and a pack of wolves he leapt directly onto the pack leader causing it to explode in a gory mess, but Acnologia couldn't care one bit. He was excited to fight but when his gaze turned into the other wolf packs they all whimpered and scattered like their lives depended on it causing Acnologia to frown, a bitter and sour expression on his face. He sighed and turned his head to the bleeding girl.

"Now who the hell is she?"

Acnologia muttered as he stared at the injured girl before sighing as he raised his right palm, a soothing green light appeared, slowly healing her wounds. This was the magic Acnologia used when he was still a human doctor in his village. It wasn't anything special, but it should be enough to help the girl recover and close her wounds.

"Where is she even from?"

Acnologia muttered, pondering for a bit before shrugging as he logged her over his shoulder and began walking to find shelter. After all, it was dark right now, and he still needed this girl to help him learn just which world he's been reincarnated into.

He knew without a doubt it's a Xianxia world, especially with how Chinese the girl over his shoulder looked like, and the way she dressed. But just which Xianxia world did he end up in he doesn't know. After all, he never really fully read Xianxia stories, just a few like Apotheosis, Tales Of Demons And God's, and Hero? I quit a long time ago.

And even then he never read them all the way to their novels, just a few hundred chapters of the drawn storyline before he abandoned them and never got to finishing any of it because he was too lazy. Acnologia soon found a cave, where he went inside, and in it was a bear that tried to make itself look as small as possible.

"Oh? Look's like I've found my dinner for tonight."

The bear became even more terrified but it was for naught as Acnologia swiftly slit it's throat to get the blood all drained out. After all, he knew how to drain, skin, and butcher meat that came from Acnologia's experience

when he lived in the village as a normal human doctor.

"Man. Was my past life so boring and bland all my experiences are just me taking from Acnologia? How depressing."

Acnologia sighed as he began to skin the bear, and butcher it's meat. He then went out and gathered a bunch of dry twigs and rocks where he made a circle on the ground with the rocks, then dump the dry twigs into the stone circle before a small candle like flame manifested on his palm that he threw onto the dried twigs causing them to crackle and burn. Acnologia skewered the meat on a few of the sticks he brought and roasted it over the fire. As the meat was cooking, Acnologia thought to himself.

'It seems like what I'm using isn't magical energy anymore but likely Qi. Life energy I believe it's what it's called in the world of Xianxia. It feels almost like an endless well of energy exists inside of my body. I wonder what my cultivation rank would be in this strange world in the body of the Dragon King Of Apocalypse. Acnologia roasted the bear meat for a few more minutes before taking a bite of the cooked meat.

"As expected. Without spices, just cooking the meat isn't going to solve the taste issue. Tastes pretty bland, but better than nothing I guess."

Just as Acnologia finished his first skewer, Xia Qing Yue groaned as she slowly woke up. Her body felt pain all over, but she felt her wounds had already closed up. When her vision finally cleared, she instantly went on high alert as she noticed she was inside a cave not anywhere near Floating Cloud City.

"Welcome back to the land of the living."

Acnologia spoke dryly

"!?"

Xia Qing Yue leapt back before flinching as her pain flared itself. Her gaze fell on the man sitting on the ground in front of her. Dark Skin, Dark Blue hair, and tribal markings all over his body and face. No doubt about it, this was the same man who had saved her before she passed out. But what was that strange language he used? Xia Qing Yue cautiously questioned.

"Excuse me senior. May I ask who you are?"

A man capable of turning a Half Step Nascent Rank beast into a bloody paste isn't someone she could realistically hope to defeat, so her only option now was to understand his intentions and find her way home. However, the man just frowned looking confused about what she just said.

—(Break!)—

Acnologia listened to the young girl speak, he frowned looking confused.

'Huh? You're telling me I can't speak Chinese? What bullshit is this!? If you're going to throw my ass in a Xianxia world, at least let me understand the language!'

Acnologia cursed as he scratched his head for a few seconds before remembering that some of his past life's memories could help him out so he closed his eyes trying to recall anything useful before he got something. The character for "name" in the Chinese alphabet.

"名字"

Acnologia wrote on the ground before pointing to it. He only remembers a few letters had searched up online in his past life when he was bored just to sound smart, but now he was pretty much lost to what anyone may say.

'Does he not know how to speak the local language? That's impossible right? He seems like he's been alive for quite some time, and without a doubt his cultivation must be incredibly high if he's able to do what he just did.'

Xia Qing Yue thought incredulously as she carefully approached where Acnologia sat seeing the word he had written on the ground her lips pursed.

It was readable…. Barely so, but still understandable nonetheless. "Name" it said. This had to be some sort of joke. How would he have even been able to do any cultivation if he doesn't even know the language Cultivators use, or how to properly write anything?

"Name. Are you asking me for my name?"

Acnologia just looked at the young girl silently.

"Ah…. So he really is illiterate. This is quite a problem."

Xia Qing Yue looked into Acnologia's eyes as she spoke.

"Xia Qing Yue."

Acnologia seemed as though he finally understood as he answered in kind.

"Acnologia"

"Acnologia? I don't think I've heard such a name before."

Xia Qing Yue felt a headache was on it's way because her saviour is illiterate, and without a functional way to communicate, how was she supposed to guess what his intentions were.

"This is going to be a very long and troublesome night."

Xia Qing Yue sighed to herself.

{An: My first ever fanfiction! Just a little bit of information, this is an opmc story. He will be the absolute strongest, and ofc Harem. I have an issue with uploading the cover image though. So I'll post it at the top and find a way to get the damn cover on. Smut is something I want to try and write, but it's embarrassing so don't expect it anytime soon since I've never written smut before. Please feel free to share your feedback. I'm doing this to improve my writing skills and because I had this idea and thought fuck it why not)
