Chapter 52 - The Arrival of Yuki Tsukumo

"Hello to everyone watching the screen. I'm Gojo Satoru, a Special Grade jujutsu sorcerer from the jujutsu world."

"Hmm… to be honest, even for me, exorcising cursed spirits while livestreaming like this is a first. It's a pretty novel experience—feels a bit unfamiliar."

With the cursed puppet activated, Gojo walked deeper into the abandoned complex while casually chatting with the viewers through the livestream.

"As you can see, this abandoned construction site is a large cursed-spirit hotspot. Conservatively speaking, there are over a hundred cursed spirits gathered inside. Hotspots of this scale were actually quite rare before curses were made public. My task today is to exorcise all the cursed spirits in here."

"Huh? What does the title 'Special Grade jujutsu sorcerer' mean? Well, Special Grade refers to those at the very top of the jujutsu hierarchy. Only an extremely small number of exceptionally powerful sorcerers can earn that title after passing evaluations. The normal sorcerer ranks go from Grade 4 up to Grade 1."

"How many Special Grades are there? At present, there are five Special Grade jujutsu sorcerers in the jujutsu world. The official list of Special Grade and Grade 1 sorcerers will be released later by the authorities."

"How do jujutsu sorcerers fight? That's a bit complicated to explain. Simply put, ordinary sorcerers rely on standard combat techniques, while those with innate techniques use their cursed techniques on top of that."

It had to be said—Gojo was surprisingly talented at livestreaming. With his unique conversational style, he quickly struck up a rapport with the audience.

And amid the idle chatter, Gojo had already ventured deep into the abandoned complex. The cursed energy in the surroundings began to churn restlessly.

"I'll stop chatting for now. Time to focus on dealing with the curses."

For Gojo, who possessed the Six Eyes, every cursed spirit hiding within the complex had already been laid bare the moment he stepped inside.

A wisp of red cursed energy gathered at his fingertip, condensing into a single point. Under Gojo's control, the crimson energy suddenly shot toward a corner.

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red!"

BOOM!!!

A massive repulsive force erupted instantly, tearing apart the cursed spirit hiding in that corner. The residual power blasted a ten-meter-wide hole straight through the wall of the building.

"Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue!"

The attack wasn't over yet. Gojo circulated his cursed energy again, and a blue sphere—Blue—manifested in his hand, unleashing an enormous pulling force.

"Ahhhhh!!!"

In an instant, countless cursed spirits screamed as they were dragged out from all directions, crushed together under Blue's overwhelming attraction.

"This is what cursed spirits are like. There are quite a lot of them, but most are actually very weak from a jujutsu sorcerer's perspective. Truly powerful curses are the exception, not the rule."

Looking at the mass of cursed spirits compressed into a lump, Gojo disdainfully tossed it aside, allowing the remains to dissipate naturally.

"Of course, the curses here aren't exactly weak. According to intelligence, there's a Grade 1 cursed spirit lurking in this complex. Just like with sorcerers, a Grade 1 cursed spirit is the strongest tier below Special Grade."

"But to me, it doesn't make much difference. Let's see… is the Grade 1 hiding over here?"

Locking his gaze onto a particular direction, red cursed energy gathered at Gojo's fingertip once more—this time on a much larger scale than before.

"Since this is my first time showing off in front of the public, I'll be a bit more straightforward."

A Red the size of a basketball erupted forth, launched with a single hand. The terrifying cursed energy even caused the livestream footage to distort unnaturally.

RUMBLE—!!!

The horrifying repulsive force obliterated everything in its path. The ground itself shook violently.

Amid the thunderous crash of collapsing structures, when the dust finally settled, what appeared before the livestream audience was an abandoned complex reduced entirely to rubble.

"Oops. Used a bit too much force."

Gojo laughed sheepishly.

"Alright, there are no longer any cursed energy reactions in this area. Mission accomplished."

...

The first-ever livestream of a jujutsu sorcerer addressing the public came to an end. After completing the mission, Gojo returned to Tokyo Jujutsu High.

With this public demonstration of a sorcerer's strength, the public's fear of curses was further reduced. In the eyes of most jujutsu sorcerers, the situation finally seemed to be back under control.

And under these circumstances, another half month passed.

"Boss, two taiyaki, please."

"Coming right up."

Standing at a street-side snack stall, An Xora took the food handed to him by the vendor. Looking at the streets around him—still noticeably quieter than before, even during peak hours—he couldn't help but comment casually.

"There are way fewer people on the streets than there used to be."

"After all, when people know there might be danger outside, they prefer staying at home," Seele replied softly beside him.

"But with everyone in the jujutsu world working so hard, things should gradually recover after some time, right?"

Although the surge in negative emotions across Japan had led to a dramatic increase in both the quantity and quality of cursed spirits, the jujutsu sorcerers weren't pushovers—especially now that the jujutsu world, under Makima's covert control, was no longer as腐朽 as before, but instead operating at full capacity.

It had to be said: after curses and sorcerers were made public, the changes to the jujutsu world were enormous—it was almost becoming unrecognizable to An Xora.

"Let's head back."

Taking Seele's slender hand, An Xora walked with her back to the villa.

But just as they arrived, they saw several figures standing outside the gate, seemingly in conversation.

Most of them were familiar to An Xora—on one side stood Makima along with her guards, Miwa Kasumi and Nishimiya Momo. On the other side was a tall, mature-looking woman with blonde hair.

"That's… Yuki Tsukumo?"

Seeing the blonde woman talking with Makima, An Xora quickly recognized her.

One of the original three Special Grade jujutsu sorcerers—and the only female among them—the Special Grade sorcerer who wielded the technique of imaginary mass manipulation: Yuki Tsukumo.

An Xora wasn't surprised that Yuki Tsukumo had returned to Japan at this point. With such massive upheavals in the jujutsu world, even someone as elusive as Yuki Tsukumo would have to come back and see what was going on.

What surprised him was that she had shown up at the gate of his and Seele's villa.

Was she here specifically to see Seele?

An Xora had a fairly clear understanding of his own situation. Since he almost never took action, most outsiders viewed him as nothing more than the "accessory" of Seele—the youngest Special Grade sorcerer in the jujutsu world, whose strength now subtly placed her at the very top among Special Grades.

Under such circumstances, it was absolutely impossible that Yuki Tsukumo had come to see him.
