Chapter 16 - I Told You to Guide Lin Fei, Not to Sit Behind Him and Hug Him!

"Huh? Did something just rush past from the side?"

"Really? Why didn't I see anything?"

"Was I mistaken?"

A pedestrian by the roadside rubbed his shiny bald head, wondering if he'd been working too much overtime lately and was starting to hallucinate.

Just now, there had only been a gust of wind.

Riding the Phantom-Scale Flash steed, Lin Fei made a few turns and veered onto a small road leading toward the suburbs.

This was something he'd memorized earlier while glancing at the map.

After all, he had only just transmigrated and wasn't familiar with Juxia City's roads yet.

Besides remembering the general direction to Supergod Academy, his goal was to find a route with fewer people—one he could enter as quickly as possible.

After all, speeding on public roads wasn't exactly advisable.

"Am I going a bit too fast?"

"I've completely lost Weiwei already… should I slow down a bit and wait for her?"

The surroundings flew backward in his vision. Lin Fei glanced over his shoulder at the empty suburban road behind him.

Earlier, when Su Xiaoli was riding with him, Lin Fei had deliberately restrained his speed.

This time, though, he wanted to test how fast the Phantom-Scale Flash steed really was.

So when he heard Weiwei's countdown, he slightly increased the speed.

And then…

He completely shook Weiwei off.

Just as Lin Fei was thinking of slowing down, Weiwei's voice suddenly came from ahead.

"Who are you waiting for?"

"Huh?"

Lin Fei raised his head and met Weiwei's gaze as she turned back.

"Huh? Weiwei, when did you get in front of me?"

His expression showed surprise, but he quickly figured it out.

"Don't tell me you used wormhole teleportation to send yourself ahead of me?"

"Ahem…"

Weiwei turned her head away and coughed lightly, a bit guilty.

"You were first."

"I was first? Oh~ you mean the Phantom-Scale Flash steed's speed," Lin Fei said.

Because his speed far exceeded that of Weiwei's motorcycle, he caught up to her in the blink of an eye.

He then slowed down, maintaining the same speed as her.

Lin Fei frowned briefly, then suddenly understood.

"So what kind of tech modification did you use? A normal motorcycle couldn't possibly reach that speed."

"This?" Weiwei said. "Of course it's factory stock."

"Impossible!"

Weiwei didn't believe him at all.

"It's true."

"You… you're really not lying to me?"

Seeing that Lin Fei didn't look like he was faking it, Weiwei hesitated.

"Of course not. But my Phantom-Scale Flash steed is one of a kind—there isn't a second one like it in the entire universe."

"I see…"

She'd originally wanted to ask where he'd gotten it, hoping to get one herself.

Hearing this, she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.

After that, she waved her hand in frustration.

"Forget it, forget it. No more racing."

The motorcycle slowed down accordingly.

If the difference were small—or even close—she could've kept racing.

She had great confidence in her riding skills.

But her bike and the Phantom-Scale Flash steed weren't even on the same level.

It was like racing a professional driver as an ordinary person—what was the point?

She was stubborn by nature, but not stubborn enough to chase after someone just to get humiliated.

If they continued, Lin Fei would disappear from her sight again in the blink of an eye.

She wouldn't even be able to see his taillights.

At worst, she'd have to use micro-wormhole teleportation repeatedly—jumping several times to track Lin Fei's trail and then teleporting ahead of him again.

But that would be pointless, wouldn't it?

If that were the case, she might as well teleport directly to Supergod Academy and be done with it.

"Then, Weiwei… how about you sit behind me, and I'll take you there?" Lin Fei suggested.

In truth, this still wasn't the Phantom-Scale Flash steed's limit.

But there was no rush, so there was no need.

Lin Fei braked and came to a stop.

"Sit… sit behind you?"

Seeing this, Weiwei stopped as well.

Realizing what he meant, she froze for a moment.

"I see you seem pretty curious about how the Phantom-Scale Flash steed feels," Lin Fei said.

"I—I wasn't!"

Caught out, Weiwei's face flushed slightly. She subconsciously retorted, but her tone lacked conviction.

Besides, hadn't Lin Fei just carried Su Xiaoli earlier?

Now he was offering to take her too…

Wasn't that a bit inappropriate?

"Huh? You don't want to?"

Lin Fei seemed to spot the key point, raising an eyebrow with a teasing glint in his eyes.

"Or is it that you're embarrassed, Weiwei?"

"What? Embarrassed? What would I have to be embarrassed about?!"

Weiwei immediately got off her motorcycle and walked straight over to Lin Fei.

Her long legs, clad in leather pants, lifted as she swung herself onto the Phantom-Scale Flash steed, sitting down behind him.

The two were suddenly very close.

Only then did Weiwei realize she might've acted on impulse.

Still… maybe it was because she had a good impression of Lin Fei—she really did want to experience the Phantom-Scale Flash steed.

And besides, there was nothing between her and Lin Fei anyway.

She even knew that Lin Fei and Su Xiaoli had only met earlier that evening.

Thinking it through like that, Weiwei felt at ease and sat steadily behind Lin Fei.

With a wave of her hand, space rippled—and her motorcycle vanished as it was transferred away.

"This time will be even faster. Hold on tight, Weiwei—don't get flung off," Lin Fei said.

"Even faster?"

Weiwei's eyes lit up.

"Of course."

As he spoke, Lin Fei activated the Phantom-Scale Flash steed.

The fire-scale crystal "eyes" at the front of the vehicle flashed with brilliant light.

Vroom—!

A pillar of flame burst from the exhaust pipe beside the rear wheel.

The entire vehicle shot forward like a beam of light.

At a speed far greater than before, it blasted out of the suburban road, leaping into the air and descending toward the forest below.

In midair, Weiwei felt the violent airflow scraping across her face, and the ground below rapidly enlarging.

Her eyes widened.

Not from fear—

But from excitement.

Boom!

After landing, the Phantom-Scale Flash steed shuddered slightly twice, but there was no damage at all.

Weiwei only felt a mild jolt—nothing like the impact she'd expected from falling through the air.

Above the night sky, stars glittered.

A crescent moon cast silvery light.

Lin Fei rode the Phantom-Scale Flash steed, carrying Weiwei as they weaved through the dense forest.

At some point, Weiwei's hands had already wrapped around Lin Fei's waist.

"Hey… there's no road here, is there?" she asked.

"There was no road in the world to begin with. Walk it enough times, and a road appears," Lin Fei replied.

"Stop trying to act cool. Are you sure this direction is right? There's a lake ahead!"

"Relax. Trust Brother Fei—I won't get it wrong."

"..."

Supergod Academy.

Located far from the city, deep in a sparsely populated suburban area.

At the entrance, Duka'ao and several men in black were waiting for Lin Fei's arrival.

Not long after—

The sound of an engine echoed from the distance.

They saw Lin Fei speeding in, with Weiwei riding behind him.

When Duka'ao saw Weiwei sitting behind Lin Fei on the Phantom-Scale Flash steed, his smile instantly froze.

I told you to guide Lin Fei—

not to sit behind him and hug him!
