Chapter 65 - Discussing the Aftermath — Taking Down the Hokage

"Execute them! Execute them!"

"Set things right!"

"Uchiha forever!"

In front of the Hokage Tower, the roar shook the sky!

The Uchiha's cries rapidly ignited the fury of the other ninja clans.

"Parasites! Scum!"

"No wonder Konoha's been rotting!"

"Bah! We were blind back then!"

Rotten leaves and foul-smelling eggs rained down on Danzō's body.

The members of Root stood stiff as clay statues—any slight movement, and ANBU immediately pinned them down.

When the wall falls, everyone pushes.

And these three brothers had already been trampled deep into the mud.

The Third Hokage's face was ashen.

He knew it—his old comrades were finished. Completely finished.

After half an hour, the clamor finally subsided.

Jin looked down at Danzō beneath his foot.

[Defeated Shimura Danzō. Attempting to copy trait.]

[Current copyable traits: Sharingan Collector (Black), Bridge-Sealer (Black)…]

[Copy successful. Congratulations, host has obtained Excellent Trait: Wood Release Cells · Incomplete (Blue) — Increases physical vitality and balances mental energy, but due to immature replication techniques, usage consumes lifespan.]

Jackpot!

Jin's lips curled upward.

The "Pot Shadow" really didn't disappoint!

This "defective product" was exactly the nourishment he needed!

To replenish vitality—

or rather, to reduce the consumption of Wood Release cell traits.

He had already invested quite a few other traits into his original Wood Release Cells.

The results had been minimal.

Barely any effect at all.

This one, however, counted as his third Wood Release–related trait.

"Stack Wood Release Cells!"

[Stack successful. Congratulations, host has obtained Excellent Trait: Wood Release Cells (Purple) — You can autonomously control the rate of cellular division and recover from injuries.]

It evolved!

The Wood Release Cells evolved!

This meant he now had a controllable, on–off function for cellular regeneration.

Under normal circumstances, it wouldn't matter much.

Of course…

With the Golden Light Body in hand, getting injured in the future would be rare anyway.

Good news put people in high spirits. Jin's small hand unconsciously slid into his hair.

"Damn… something feels off."

At the same time, Fugaku, who had been watching, hurried over and coughed lightly.

"Ahem… Jin, what should we do next—"

As he spoke, his gaze swept toward the Third Hokage, killing intent flickering.

He had hesitated before, yes—but now that things had come this far, there was no turning back.

Shff.

Just as his words fell, the peace-loving Second Elder rushed over as well.

A kunai clenched tightly in his hand, his eyes resolute.

He didn't say anything, but his stance said it all:

You say the word—we charge.

Even if it was the Third Hokage, they'd kill him if necessary!

Clack. Clack.

Sensing danger, the ANBU immediately shifted formation, moving to protect the Third Hokage and the others.

The atmosphere once again grew taut and explosive.

But…

Whenever those elite ANBU glanced at the small figure of Jin, their eyes flickered and quickly looked away.

It was obvious.

Whether it was that godlike domain earlier, or the crimson chakra hands behind him—

all of it gave them an illusion of utter invincibility.

They didn't even dare leak killing intent.

Instead, their gazes fell upon Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Hoping—

that this undefeated old man could once again lead them to the "correct" path.

Hiruzen: …

Why are you all looking at me?!

He wanted to shout that.

But he couldn't.

Enma's sudden retreat had already planted deep misgivings in the so-called "Professor of the Ninja World."

This Uchiha brat… he couldn't see through him at all.

So even after two of his old friends had been crushed to death, he merely kept a grim face and stayed silent.

At last, he spoke with difficulty, his voice hoarse:

"Danzō and the others… it was my failure to supervise…"

"This time, the Uchiha clan… has my thanks…"

As he finished speaking, the old man's back slowly bent.

Even his gaze seemed to grow murkier.

"Just 'thanks'?" Jin murmured, looking at the old man who wasn't much taller than himself.

His eyes brimmed with mockery.

"Surely, Hokage-sama hasn't forgotten our slogan just now?"

Thud.

As expected—no escape.

At those words, the Third Hokage's face darkened even further.

So dark that the color was hidden among his wrinkles.

"Third Hokage…"

Seeing this, the heads of the Ino–Shika–Chō clans hurried over.

Jin's pressure was terrifying, yes—but as staunch allies of Sarutobi Hiruzen, their fates were tightly bound to his.

If the Third Hokage truly fell, they wouldn't fare much better either.

"Third Hokage…"

"Hokage-sama!"

One by one, more clan heads stepped forward.

If it had only been Danzō and Utatane Koharu—mere high-ranking officials—

they would have respected them, but not staked their entire clans.

But Sarutobi Hiruzen was different.

He had been Hokage for decades.

His roots ran deep throughout Konoha.

Especially in a ninja world that relied heavily on bloodlines, this was even more pronounced.

The tangled web of interests was so complex that even the Fire Daimyō was, to some extent, a puppet.

If the Uchiha truly moved against the Hokage now, it would likely end in mutual annihilation.

Of the more than twenty clans who had come earlier, only about half still remained in front of the Hokage Tower.

At the forefront—

the Hyūga clan.

"Ahem…"

Seeing the situation turning delicate, Hyūga Hiashi cleared his throat and said softly,

"Jin, if the Uchiha have any demands, feel free to state them."

"I believe that for the sake of Konoha's peace, Hokage-sama will agree—as long as it's not too excessive."

His voice wasn't loud, but the moment it fell, many eyes lit up.

And the Third Hokage's face grew even darker.

Feel free to state them?

Will definitely agree?

Hyūga Hiashi, whose side are you on?!

Hiruzen cursed inwardly.

He knew that if he refuted this, it would surely anger the major clans…

But if he didn't—

Boom!

Suddenly, a violent blast of compressed air surged forward!

Fortunately, the Third Hokage's reflexes were still sharp despite his age.

With a quick movement, he sidestepped instantly.

He reacted in time—but a clan head behind him did not.

All he could do was stare in stunned disbelief.

Then—

Bang!

Pshhk!

The Empty Palm struck.

A mouthful of blood sprayed out.

"Hiss…"

He sucked in a breath of cold air as pain tore through his organs.

His resentful gaze shifted between Jin and the Third Hokage, unsure whom to blame.

Blame Jin for being ruthless?

Blame the Third Hokage for being too fast?

In the end, he reached a conclusion:

Weakness is the original sin.

It was his own fault—for reacting too slowly.

After dodging, Sarutobi Hiruzen immediately snapped back to his senses.

Staring at Jin, he barked,

"Uchiha Arata! Attacking the Hokage—what do you think you're doing?!"

"What am I doing?"

Jin grinned, his small mouth stretching into a bright smile.

"Doing you."
