Chapter 41: The All-Encompassing Nen

However, for Ronin, Ninjutsu posed no difficulty. He didn't need to worry about Elemental Affinities. As long as he wished it, he could perform any Jutsu with a defined rank simply by forming the seals and releasing Chakra.

Even Taijutsu techniques like the Eight Inner Gates required no intricate study of meridian points. He could use them as naturally as eating or drinking, just by molding Chakra.

The only limitation was "Rank." If he tried to open a Gate beyond his current capacity, the "level cap" would prevent it.

There were, however, abilities Ronin couldn't use: Kekkei Genkai (Bloodline Limits) and certain forbidden or unique Jutsu.

Another unavailable ability was the fan-favorite Summoning Jutsu.

Without a signed contract, even if he performed the technique, nothing would appear.

Naturally, since nothing would appear, the Jutsu simply wouldn't activate.

Unless Ronin found a suitable beast and signed a blood contract with it. He planned to find an opportunity to test this with a local beast; maybe he could actually make Summoning work.

Furthermore, he began to think outside the box.

If he considered the relationship between Chakra and Nen, and applied the concept of "Vow and Limitation" (Condition and Pledge), could he decode his own ability?

The thought made Ronin's eyes light up.

Chakra itself might be a variation of Nen.

Following this logic, things started to make sense.

The "Level Restrictions," the need to find and absorb Scarlet Eyes, and the increasing number of eyes required for evolution—these were undoubtedly Limitations.

Under these strict Conditions, the conversion of Nen into Chakra, the enhanced power and versatility of Ninjutsu, and the ocular powers gained from evolution were the benefits of the Vow.

In essence, from the moment Ronin awakened the Scarlet Eyes, he possessed a Specialist Nen ability.

It was just a simpler, more efficient Specialist ability tailored specifically for him.

He could call it "The Ninja" or "The Sharingan," since everything started with those eyes.

He intended to use these special eyes to uncover the secrets hidden within this Hunter world!

Thinking deeper, Nen wasn't just life energy; it also encompassed mental energy.

Whether it was Gon training his mind in Zetsu or Netero's gratitude punches, mental cultivation was key.

Gon broke Wing's "promise" restriction and later Knuckle's "Hakoware" curse. The first time, calming his mind stabilized his aura. The second time, sheer determination drastically increased his aura capacity. This was proof!

Proof that Nen and mental energy were intrinsically linked.

When mental energy was strong enough, that strength reflected in one's Nen.

Applying this to himself, Ronin understood why his strength increased so rapidly.

When he transmigrated, he likely absorbed the dissipating soul of his predecessor. That absorption supplemented his mental energy, giving him spiritual power far beyond ordinary people.

This explained why he retained the predecessor's memories, yet childhood events were blurry, while recent memories—especially of the massacre—were crystal clear.

Perhaps his predecessor had made a Vow on the brink of death.

Trading his soul for a new soul capable of bringing change.

The price of the Vow might have been the permanent dissipation of his soul, denying him reincarnation—if such a thing existed.

Having rationalized this, Ronin felt he understood Nen, Vows, and Limitations much better.

Nen was all-encompassing. For him, Chakra was simply a specialized energy for fueling Ninjutsu and the Sharingan.

Both Nen users and Ninjas had weaknesses.

Top-tier Nen users like Netero, Meruem, and the Royal Guards were balanced monsters—high attack, high defense, high speed.

But Ninjas, even Kage-level ones, were often glass cannons.

Their destructive power was terrifying, but their durability—compared to an Enhancer—was worrying. They relied on evasion and tricks to survive.

Take Ronin's fight with Uvogin. When he opened the Eight Gates and used the Primary Lotus, the damage to his own body was arguably greater than the damage to Uvogin.

This was the gap in physical constitution.

When Ronin converted to Chakra Mode, his defense dropped significantly compared to his Nen Mode.

Even in the Intermediate State, there was a reduction. His tankiest state remained his pure Nen form.

Perhaps perfecting the Lightning Release Chakra Mode would improve this.

The Lightning Armor was a B-Rank Jutsu, but it drained Chakra rapidly. Ronin hadn't fully mastered the extreme speed it granted, which was why he didn't use it against Uvogin.

Even with the Sharingan, adapting to that speed required massive practice.

The Raikage was truly a freak of nature.

If he could master the Lightning Armor, fighting Uvogin would have been easier. He might have even overpowered him head-on!

Next time. If Uvogin could still fight, Ronin would crush him in his strongest area—frontal combat!

As for his Hatsu (Special Attack), Ronin planned to create an ability that could generate more Chakra.

This would maximize both his Nen state and Chakra Mode.

Ideally, he wanted to become a "Tailless Tailed Beast" like Kisame Hoshigaki.

Or better yet, create a Tailed Beast inside himself.

But how?

Becoming a Jinchuriki carried risks. Turning himself into a massive chakra battery seemed more practical.

Greedily choosing everything wasn't a good idea.

Nen capacity—"Memory Space"—was limited. Following a specialized path like Netero was the best way to utilize his Enhancement affinity.

It was a pity he wasn't a Conjurer.

If he were, he wouldn't mind conjuring a Samehada (Shark Skin sword) to fill his Chakra needs.

But being a Conjurer would weaken his Taijutsu.

Thoughts collided in his mind. Ronin felt he needed time to think and experiment to find the optimal path for increasing his aura capacity.

He looked out the window. Vast wheat fields flashed by.

Mordin City was close.
