The crowd erupted in protest as the two boys were quickly dragged away.
"Burn him to the stake."
"How could this be??"
The presence of a yellow path already caused outrage but now two white paths. A forbidden path as well.
"Hfff, these fools never shut up," the bishop's eyes rolled as he activated a skill.
{Goddess' Domain}
The masses silenced as they felt the pressure of the goddess fall upon them.
"Now I shall reveal the status' of these twin's" As the bishop gestured to the twins he noticed that Kael's hair turned from brown to black. The opposite of Elion.
"Not all forbidden paths are executed. Just remember who does the executing." The bishop tried to reassure the tiny child. But Kael's tears didn't stop.
He pulled out two palm-sized stone tablets with inscriptions on them.
"Here, channel your energy into there and place them on the alter.
The twins followed his instructions and the bishop looked upon the pilon.
'Why goddess? In your foresight, what do you see?'
The bishop returned to the task at hand.
"Bare witness upon the revelations of the Goddess. Elion walks the path of....
A hero."
The crowd murmured. Even with the Goddess' domain the chatter could not be silenced.
A new demon king was born.
Peace was over.
And war was coming.
"As for the forbidden path. Kael walks the path of...
The hero's shadow."
Confusion spread around the crowd. No one knew what the path was. No hero's shadow was in the records.
"Don't fret. The hero's shadow is the dark side of the hero. Bound to him. Through a bond of servitude. And servitude to the hero is noble. Kael will live. For this is the will of the goddess."
And just like that the ceremony came to an end. Victor and the twins were escorted into the private prayer chambers where they were briefed what would happen next by one of the high priests.
They were going to set off on a journey to the Dragon Spire Academy.
They were escorted back to the cottage where they packed, said there goodbyes and left.
Elion slept in the carriage.
He always dreamed of fighting monsters. Just like dad. Only now he was not only going to fight them. But save the world. He was excited.
But Kael was a bit different.
He couldn't sleep. I lifetime of servitude? What did that mean? It didn't matter. Kael was going to go on adventures with Elion. He was going to explore this world with his twin brother.
That wasn't servitude. That sounded like freedom.
He pulled out his status card, the small stone tablets the priest had given them. His status lit up.

The academy was situated on the top of the Revaris Plateau. The Plateau was mostly forest with cabins and towers littered throughout. The main road was lined with houses and shops welcoming the students to the academy.
Due to the secrecy, no one knew that the hero was arriving today. That's why it was surprising when a small crowd formed around the carriage. Trying to get a glimpse of what was inside.
"It's a boy with black hair..."
The crowd groaned. Every carriage they checked and not a single blonde was found.
The crowd dissipated allowing the twins to get through.
To the main gate.
The Academy sat next to the cliff of the plateau. Even overhanging at times. The walls were tall yet sturdy, dividing the outside world from the in. Separating the people by class.
The gates were tall golden arches that reached for the skies. The gaps in the bars allowed anyone to see the lavish gardens which mixed flowers, koi ponds, hedges trees and pavilions together in a manner that was visually pleasing.
But they were the mere decoration on both sides of the path as they rolled toward the castle known as Dragon Spire Academy. The castle walls formed a semi circle against the cliff of the plateau. And was divided into rings as you went toward the epicenter of the castle. But they didn't stop there.
Sky islands attached with chains floated right next to the cliff. Some were empty. While some had towers or cabins built on them. But one Stood out from the rest.
It was giant and attached by a bridge instead of a chain. It wasn't an island as much as it was just a floating tower.
And that was where the Twin's were going. To the head master's tower.
