Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Scout Mission

"What email did Grandpa from Morning Light City send?"

Ender wondered, waiting for Hollu to continue.

"The appearance of the Night Bird this time was not accidental. According to the news my father received from Morning Light City, it wasn't just our Family that was attacked by a Planetary Level Demon Beast; all the tribes on the edge of the inner grassland were attacked.

"The Demon Beast's target was clear: they all prioritized attacking Human Race children, and immediately fled with the bodies once they succeeded.

"And it's not just Morning Light City; similar news has been coming from the other five major cities."

After hearing Hollu's words, Ender finally understood why the Night Bird was so insistent on attacking Little Eighteen and Nineteen.

"Due to this planned attack by Planetary Level Demon Beasts, four Planetary Level cultivators died in battle on our Morning Light City side alone, and several tribes were wiped out, with over a thousand casualties."

The deaths of four Planetary Level cultivators silenced everyone.

This number was somewhat beyond everyone's imagination; it was equivalent to the losses from one or two beast tides.

"Furthermore, a beast tide is coming!

"From the recent Planetary Level Demon Beast attack, it seems the scale of this beast tide is not small. My father and third uncle have already rushed back from Morning Light City.

"Before they return, we need to spread the news of the beast tide so that tribes without Planetary Level cultivators stationed there know that the beast tide is approaching.

"During the Scout before the Planetary Level beast tide, if necessary, we must assist other tribes in migrating to the shelters."

Hollu finished explaining the content of the email.

"Assisting other tribes in migration? We've never done that before," Gabriel said in a deep voice.

Hollu replied, "Father said that because of the Planetary Level Demon Beast attacks, the Morning Light City Council believes this beast tide is unusual. To prevent the shelters from being breached by the beast tide, each shelter will have two Stellar Rank powerhouses stationed there.

"Moreover, they believe that powerful tribes need to bear more responsibility and should protect the migration of weaker tribes as much as possible to preserve their vital forces."

Gabriel nodded slightly, "Understood. Are we leaving now?"

"Before Father returns, the Family needs at least three Planetary Level cultivators stationed here. Sixth Uncle, you are a Spiritual Mentor, so you need to stay with the Family."

Hollu said, then turned to Derrick and asked, "Seventh brother, what about you?"

"Me?"

Derrick looked at his eldest brother, then called out to Ender, "Eleven."

Ender was puzzled, not knowing why his father called him.

"You go on this Scout too."

"Ah? Don't you need to be a Planetary Level cultivator?"

Ender was a bit surprised. Could an Apprentice-level cultivator like him handle such an important task as a Scout?

"With the strength you showed today, you are capable enough to handle the Scout in the direction of Morning Light City. There are many Apprentice-level Demon Beasts in this direction, and the possibility of encountering a Planetary Level Demon Beast is almost zero.

"You heard it; this beast tide is unusual. The more people, the more strength. The longer those weak tribes stay on the grassland, the more dangerous it becomes."

Derrick reached out and patted Ender's shoulder, "You can save many people."

After hearing his father's last sentence, Ender was convinced.

He took a deep breath, stood up, and said, "I'll go back, get my spare equipment, and then leave."

"Wait!"

Derrick stopped Ender. He took off the communicator on his left wrist and threw it to Ender, instructing:

"Take this communicator. If you encounter a Planetary Level Demon Beast, call for help immediately. Also, it can be used as a map and compass.

"It's best to gather more tribes and bring them back together; it's both convenient and safe."

Ender replied, "Okay, Father."

"Also, don't tell your mother about you going on Scout for now, so she doesn't worry. You can get food and water from the dining tent later."

"Mm."

Ender nodded; he also didn't want his mother to worry.

Derrick waved his hand, "Go."

After Ender left, Gabriel spoke, "Seventh Brother, are you okay with letting Eleven go on Scout mission?"

Derrick said helplessly, "There's no other way. This kid has been slacking off in recent years. If I don't put some pressure on him, he won't work hard to improve himself.

"Let him see the cruelty of the grassland, and he will understand the importance of strength. Moreover, he was able to fight a Planetary Level third-tier Night Bird for such a long time. As long as he doesn't encounter a Demon Beast above Planetary Level fifth-tier, he can escape."

Both Hollu and Gabriel agreed with Derrick's assessment of his son's slackness.

Ender's talent is very high; they all acknowledged this. They believed he would be the fifth person in the Family to become a Stellar Rank cultivator.

But in their opinion, Ender had been somewhat lax in recent years!

Aside from Cultivating the Controller's Basic Twenty-Eight Forms, he rarely Cultivated Gene Energy Cultivation methods, and he didn't even eat the purple-orange fruit given to him.

Purple-orange fruit wasn't rare, but it was still a resource that could slowly enhance Physique, yet he just let Little Eighteen eat it as a snack.

This led to Little Eighteen, who was only a little over four years old, already approaching the physical quality of Apprentice-level third-tier, while her twin brother Little Nineteen had just reached Apprentice-level first-tier.

They guessed that Eleven didn't want to leave the Family, possibly because he didn't want to be far from his Family and go to the unfamiliar environment of Morning Light Academy.

"He really does need some pressure."

Hollu and Gabriel nodded in agreement. A little pressure might make Eleven change.

"Alright, I'm going to the dining tent to prepare food and water for Eleven."

Derrick stood up and left.

Hollu looked at his seventh brother's departing back and thought to himself, "Alas, I didn't expect Eleven's personality to have problems too. It's like the Family is cursed…"

...

At home, his mother Wendy was sewing leather boots.

Seeing Ender return, she put down her work and quickly went to Ender's side.

"Eleven, I heard you encountered a Planetary Level Demon Beast. You're not hurt, are you?"

Wendy said, pulling Ender and examining his whole body, afraid he was injured.

"I'm fine, don't worry," Ender replied with a smile.

Seeing that Ender was unharmed, Wendy was relieved, "It's good that you're fine!"

Then she cupped Ender's face with both hands and said gently, "Eleven is amazing! You saved Little Eighteen and Nineteen, you're a good older brother."

"Mother, I'm not a child anymore…"

"Yes, yes, yes! Eleven is already an adult with a name."

"Mother, I have something to do and need to go out. I'll be leaving now."

Listening to the obviously perfunctory words, Ender knew that reasoning wouldn't work, so he could only break free from his mother's hands.

Taking the spare bone spike from his room, he left the house and headed straight for the dining tent.

At the dining tent, Derrick sat at a dining table. On the table was a small animal skin bag, and beside it, a water bag.

"The food and water in here aren't much, but their effect is many times stronger than ordinary food and water. Their main purpose is to replenish stamina when traveling. Don't use them casually.

"You can get ordinary food and water from other tribes. When you're escorting, these things will also be provided by those tribes.

"Also, your strength is far greater than the powerhouses of those weaker tribes. The enemies worth your effort are the leaders of Demon Beast groups. Your primary goal should be to dismantle the Demon Beast groups."

Derrick pushed the items on the table towards Ender while explaining the tasks and key points of the Scout.

Tying the animal skin bag and water bag in front of him, Ender listened to his father's words and firmly kept them in mind.

Seeing that Ender was ready, Derrick gently waved his hand, "Go."

"Mm."

Ender nodded, left the dining tent, and manipulated the bone shield to fly into the sky, heading towards Morning Light City.

Afterward, Derrick looked into the sky, staring blankly at Ender's receding back.
