Chapter 83 - Chapter 83

  Chapter 83 Stop Fighting!

In mid-air, Finney floated using his levitation technique. Before he could even make a move, Hulk, not far away, roared furiously and charged towards the firing soldiers.

Finney ignored Hulk's actions; while Hulk was strong, his intelligence was clearly a weakness.

Scanning the area, Finney quickly spotted Ross. Among the large group of soldiers, he was the most well-dressed, and accompanied by a woman—presumably his daughter, Banner's girlfriend.

  Finney immediately flew towards Ross.

Ross, who had been watching Finney and Hulk's actions, instantly realized something was wrong and immediately pulled his daughter back to the car.

  "Fall down!"

Finney wouldn't let him have his way. He intensified his thoughts with the 'Golden Great Evolution Technique' and gave a command, causing Ross to fall flat on his face.

  "Dad!"

The woman beside him cried out and immediately helped Ross up.

The surrounding soldiers tried to shoot at Finney, but he blasted them away with a single, silently chanted 'Explosion Magic'.

Reaching Ross's side, Finney landed, grabbed Ross, and before he could even ask a question, the woman beside him grabbed his cloak, crying pitifully,

  "Let go of my dad!"

  "Betty, run!"

  "Dad!"

Finney was stunned by the scene. Why was this sudden display of father-daughter affection? Why did he suddenly seem like the bad guy when he was the victim?

  "Shut up!"

Finney shouted angrily. He had come mainly to deal with Hulk and Abomination, and hadn't intended to have much contact with Ross.

If Ross hadn't been so reckless, Finney wouldn't have bothered with him.

"Please, let go of my dad."

Women rarely remain calm when panicked, but Betty was an exception. Ignoring Finney's anger, she clung to his leg, crying and begging for mercy.

Finney hadn't actually intended to kill Ross outright. After all, Ross was a military general. He had only wanted to teach Ross a lesson so he wouldn't dare provoke him again.

But Betty's actions now made him feel awkward. Truly, trouble was everywhere.

  "Get out of the way!"

Finney glared coldly at Betty. Although the crimson eyes on her visor terrified Betty, she clung tightly to her cloak, her eyes filled with pleading.

  "Faint..."

Just as Finney was about to use the 'Golden Great Evolution Technique' to knock Betty unconscious, a tremor suddenly came from beneath his feet, and he seemed to hear something.

Finney's expression changed instantly. Without turning his head, he grabbed Betty and, carrying Ross, quickly ascended into the air.

The next second, the Mad Hulk charged to where he had been standing, looked up at him in the air, and roared angrily, "Roar!"

  "Bruce!"

Betty in Finney's arms began to cry again, though the tears seemed never to stop.

Ross's expression changed as he looked at the squad Hulk had charged at; it was now a scene of utter devastation, with almost nothing intact.

Hulk glanced at Betty, his gaze seemingly shifting slightly, but then he roared at Finney again, his eyes bloodshot and his expression furious.

At the same time, his legs bent, as if gathering strength.

  "Damn it!"

Finney seemed to understand something, cursing under his breath in anger. If he wasn't mistaken, his actions with Betty had definitely led Hulk to misunderstand him, making him see him as an enemy.

Seeing Hulk preparing to jump, Finney dared not wait. With two burdens beside him, he couldn't fly fast, so he quickly landed and threw Betty out first.

After all, this thing acted like a power amplifier for Hulk, only making him angrier and stronger.

As for Ross, Finney didn't want to let him off so easily. If he threw him down, Ross would definitely run away, and might even harbor resentment. So Finney wanted him to experience what it felt like to have his life in someone else's hands.

After Finney put Betty down, Hulk's anger indeed subsided considerably, and his expression seemed more relaxed.

However, given Hulk's current intelligence, he didn't understand much. He seemed to have identified Finney as an enemy, with a relentless determination to eliminate him, and continued to chase after Finney in the air, wanting to fight.

With only one person on his side, Finney's situation became much easier. Using his skillful aerial maneuvers, he held Ross's clothes in one hand while dodging Hulk's leaping hammers and trash throws in mid-air. He

then unleashed a silent 'Explosion' spell, occasionally using Ross as a shield to scare him; for a while, the back-and-forth was quite amusing.

Finney found it entertaining, while Ross was nearly having a heart attack. Even on the battlefield, he had never felt so thrilled.

Watching the trees, car doors, weapons, and other objects whizzing past, Ross genuinely regretted attacking Finney.

Because of his presence, the surrounding soldiers dared not attack, cautiously standing guard and waiting for a chance to rescue him.

After all, Ross was a battle-hardened general; his rise to this position wasn't entirely due to connections.

Roughly calculating the distance to the ground, Ross decided to try to save himself.

As Hulk's attacks continued to miss Finney, his rage grew, and his strength increased, resulting in increasingly violent and powerful throws.

Finney had to be careful, as being hit by a single blow could be dangerous.

At this moment, Betty, constantly worried about her father and boyfriend's safety, couldn't hold back any longer. Taking advantage of the soldiers' distraction, she broke free from her guards and rushed into the battlefield, shouting with open arms,

  "Stop fighting!"

When Betty rushed towards him, Hulk almost mistook her for an enemy and nearly threw the car wheel he had just picked up. Fortunately, after recognizing her, he stopped himself.

  "Roar!"

Hulk, now green and holding a spare tire, roared at Betty, seemingly trying to get her to leave.

Finney also stopped attacking. After all, he and Hulk weren't enemies; his target was Abomination. Thinking of Abomination, Finney quickly looked around.

The surrounding soldiers were all on guard, guns drawn, and he couldn't tell which one was Abomination.

Unbeknownst to Finney, the future Abomination, the current human Bronsky, had been severely injured by Hulk's slap long before Finney arrived. He had been taken away by other soldiers for rescue during his fight with Hulk.

  "Now!"

As Finney surveyed his surroundings, Ross finally found his opportunity. He swiftly drew a tactical knife hidden in his boot, twisted, and slashed his clothes, falling from the air.

Because Finney was in mid-air, Betty's initial goal in rushing forward was to stop Hulk, and she was only confident she could stop him.

However, due to exhaustion, she only reached halfway before stopping, her position somewhat below Finney.

Even so, Ross's fall shouldn't have hit Betty at all.

Unfortunately, while Hulk was incredibly strong, he wasn't very quick-witted in situations. Therefore, when he saw Ross falling, he mistakenly thought Finney was trying to use Ross to hit Betty.

He roared angrily and rushed towards Betty, pulling her into his arms while simultaneously slapping Ross away with his left hand, sending him flying and giving him a taste of what Bronsky had felt not long ago.

Finney stared blankly in mid-air, momentarily stunned, but he knew things were getting complicated.

Actually, while writing this, the scene at the Forbidden City kept replaying in my mind, and I inexplicably thought about what would happen if the protagonist and Hulk had a dance-off...
