Chapter 104 'Possessed by Evil' - Another Evolution.
Will Captain America continue to study hard after waking up? Finnie doesn't know, but he knows he needs to work hard in the coming days.
He's still short of experience points for his sixth draw. Even though Hulk gives a lot of experience each time, he can't be careless, especially since he wants to do his seventh draw before the Avengers truly debut.
By evening, Finnie arrived at Kamar-Taj. Because of Hulk, he hadn't been there for three days, which is unusual for him.
As soon as he appeared, he was surrounded by a group of mages who showered him with concern.
It wasn't that Finnie was particularly cared for or respected; it was mainly because of the fried chicken rolls. Three days had made these mages incredibly hungry.
This situation also reminded Finnie that he couldn't guarantee he'd come to Kamar-Taj every day.
The next day, Finnie bought several large refrigerated freezers and then used a portal to reach Kamar-Taj.
At a rate of three per second, they started filling the freezers with 'Violet Chicken Wraps,' taking several hours to fill them completely. This way, even if he wasn't there, the mages of Kamar-Taj would still have something to eat.
Although the taste might be a bit less appealing, it was better than nothing.
The mages of Kamar-Taj unanimously praised Finnie's actions, as this solved their problem of only being able to eat in the morning.
It was clear that Finnie had almost become an essential part of Kamar-Taj.
Leaving aside his influence on the world, his influence on Kamar-Taj was already beginning to show. If Kamar-Taj were to lose him one day, who knew how many mages would develop anorexia or something.
After two peaceful days, Finnie went to find Banner again, but he felt there was something strange in Banner's gaze.
"What's wrong? Is there something wrong with what I'm wearing?"
Finnie looked down at himself. A gray-white short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans—he had washed up that morning, and there was nothing different from usual.
"What did you and Hulk do together during those three days?"
Banner had repeatedly checked his memory during those days, and the trash in the house also indicated that he wasn't the one with the problem. But he still couldn't believe that Hulk had this side to him.
His impression of Hulk was that of a brutal, insane monster, but this Hulk in his memory was like a child, which was hard for him to accept.
"What did we do?"
Finnie looked at Banner with a puzzled expression and casually replied, "Eat, sleep, fight!"
"You took him to eat hamburgers and drink cola?"
Banner looked at Finnie with a strange expression. He still didn't understand how Finnie could get along so well with Hulk, and so happily at that.
"Yes, what's wrong?"
Finnie thought Hulk had eaten too much and it had affected Banner, since he hadn't seen Hulk go to the bathroom for almost three days. He couldn't help but ask with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?"
"No!"
Banner shook his head, unsure how to explain this. Finnie's presence had shown him another side of Hulk.
"Is all this really going to work?"
Banner wasn't easily fooled, nor was he a contrarian like Nick Fury. He was simply a well-educated and good-natured doctor.
He believed in the hope Finnie gave him, but also doubted whether it would truly be effective. He was more like a normal, ordinary person seeking relief.
"We'll try anyway."
Finnie didn't give a definite answer. He could see that Banner didn't want to back out, but rather felt lost and insecure about the future. Perhaps he was already prepared to accept living with the Hulk.
Later, in a deserted area, Banner summoned the Hulk. When it reappeared, the Hulk had become much more accustomed to it, no longer roaring loudly. Upon seeing Finnie, it happily ran over, like a little shadow.
"Come on, let's fight! This time, the loser gets something good to eat!"
Finnie cunningly wanted to weaken the Hulk. A hint of hesitation crossed Hulk's face, but unfortunately, his determination to win outweighed his desire for food. He replied, "Hulk, win!"
"The winner gets nothing!"
Was Finnie the kind of person who cared about his reputation? He might have been a little more considerate in front of strangers, but the closer the people were to him, the more his true nature would show.
If he truly valued his image, he wouldn't have forced the sorcerers to concede and gain experience using his 'Flying Technique' at Kamar-Taj.
Although the Ancient One had warned him not to lose control for power, shamelessly wanting to win meant nothing to Finnie.
Even when bullying a simple child like Hulk.
"See that?"
Finnie summoned a 'Violet Chicken Wrap' and waved it in front of Hulk, saying with a tempting expression, "Whoever loses can eat as much as they want!"
"Hulk, win!"
Hulk's eyes followed the 'Violet Chicken Wrap', but he still uttered a declaration of victory, even saying with a hint of grievance, "Mage, you're bad!"
Ha!
Finnie sneered inwardly. More than bad, he wanted to show Hulk how cruel the adult world could be.
"The winner of the fight isn't allowed to watch TV."
Upon hearing this, Hulk was enraged. He glared at Finnie and angrily turned away, saying, "Hulk doesn't fight mages!"
"Huh!?"
Finnie was stunned, seemingly having gone too far, and quickly tried to salvage the situation, saying, "Okay, okay, then forget it."
Hulk then turned back, glaring angrily at Finnie, saying, "Mage, you cheated, you don't deserve to win!"
Now it was Finnie's turn to be angry. He rolled up his sleeves, abandoning any underhanded tactics, and directly challenged, "Come on, come on, I'll see today why I don't deserve to win!"
As it turned out, Finnie indeed couldn't win. As long as he couldn't defeat Hulk immediately, Hulk was like an unkillable cockroach, growing stronger with each battle.
However, thankfully, in his words, at least he hadn't lost.
The battle ended, leaving the surrounding area in a mess. Their fight was more ferocious than a demolition crew. Needless to say, Finnie's 'explosion magic' was powerful, but every punch and kick from Hulk was also incredibly lethal.
Seeing Hulk, who was sullen after another beating, Finnie was also worried. Hulk's dedication to fighting was exceptionally strong; even food couldn't sway him, making it difficult for him to win normally.
Finnie didn't actually stop Hulk from eating, taking him out for a feast.
But this time, Banner didn't let Hulk out as much as before. Just as they finished eating and were about to watch TV, Banner recovered.
For the next period, Finnie tried to maintain a fight with Hulk every three days.
Besides gaining a massive amount of experience, he also caused 'Possessed' to evolve again.
During their fights, it wasn't just him improving; Hulk's progress was also rapid, so he couldn't always dodge Hulk's attacks and occasionally took a few punches.
The power of each punch was terrifying.
Under these circumstances, 'Possessed' evolved, developing an ability to absorb physical attacks, which Finnie called 'Physical Resistance,' somewhat similar to Captain America's shield.
Since then, when Hulk's fists landed on Finnie, while not exactly like a tickle, they were far less terrifying than before, giving Finnie hope of defeating Hulk head-on.
Regarding the sixth skill, I'm suddenly having some doubts, so I won't let you guess yet; I'll think it over before I say anything...
