Chapter 60 - Chapter 60

A week later.

"Sack, what do you want for breakfast?" Amanda asked in a warm, cheerful tone.

She was wearing a white sweater and a green miniskirt, and at that moment she put on a yellow apron with sunflower images.

"I love everything you make, surprise me." Sack wrapped his arms around Amanda's small waist.

The two looked at each other and then kissed. Finally, she nodded happily and got ready to cook breakfast.

They had spent a week together, had sex, gone on dates, talked, and enjoyed each other's company.

...

Ding!

That day, at 3 p.m., the Awakened platform on Sack's cell phone and Amanda's cell phone announced that the first group of S-rank Awakened would enter Lifestan with the 30 human sacrifices they were carrying to offer to the abyssal dungeon.

The first team's objective was to enter Lifestan, eliminate threats to ensure that the sacrifices entered the abyssal dungeon, and thus gain another month.

There were cameras and drones made from materials and crystals obtained in the dungeons, and the raid on Lifestan would be broadcast on a channel for a suitable audience and through the Despertados platform.

Sack and Amanda sat on the sofa and waited. The raid would begin at 4 p.m.

Journalists, experts, and specialists gave their opinions on the incursion, its chances of success, and the monsters that inhabited Lifestan.

Most of the monsters were insect-like, some were arachnids and arthropods.

Despite what the analysts said, Sack couldn't stop thinking about what had happened with the breakout from the S-rank dungeon in Lifestan.

"What came out of that dungeon? Was it devoured by the predators that had already adapted to Lifestan?" Sack had no answer, but he felt a warning from his intuition.

...

4 p.m.

Twelve S-rank adventurers made up the special team that would carry the 30 human sacrifices.

Cameras and drones recorded the event.

An area filled with huge trees, uneven terrain, unknown vegetation, and something gloomy due to the small amount of light that filtered through the treetops.

Insects!

Watch out!

Among the adventurers equipped with the best gear were:

Four adventurers who could play the role of fighters. Among them was a beautiful woman wearing a low-cut red blouse and tight shorts that hugged her sensual and attractive body. On her white thighs she wore two belts with two spare knives.

Five wizards of different types. Among them, the two women stood out. One of them was very beautiful, with dark brown hair with black streaks, almost golden eyes, and a white wizard's robe open beneath which she wore a light blue blouse and white pants that hugged her long legs. She was a support wizard like Amanda.

Three of them were what in a game would be called tanks, awakened with a class that possessed high defensive power. All three were male.

The 30 human sacrifices were not worth mentioning; they were just cannon fodder. Ordinary humans or low-level awakened ones.

...

Magic spells were fired.

Sometimes the wizards reinforced the awakened ones who were at the forefront.

AAAAAH!

The heart-wrenching screams of an ordinary human who tried to escape were heard. The human fell into the jaws of a B-rank "Bone Eater."

The Bone Eater was a monstrous grasshopper with a white exoskeleton somewhat stained with dirt from the environment. A grasshopper almost two meters tall and almost five meters long.

It was a strong grasshopper that loved calcium, which always ate the limbs first, and its victims did not bleed to death because the grasshopper's jaws contained saliva or mucus capable of stopping bleeding and infections.

Being eaten by a "Bone Eater" was a slow and agonizing death.

And if someone killed a Bone Eater, its hemolymph attracted a swarm of "Bone Eaters."

Since the special team's goal was to reach the abyssal dungeon with at least 20 human sacrifices, they ignored the screams of the human who was caught by the "Bone Eater." But the scene of the huge, terrifying grasshopper first eating one of its human prey's legs was broadcast on television.

...

An hour had passed, two human sacrifices had died, but the core team continued to advance while killing the monsters that appeared.

As the members of the special team were awakened S-rankers, the real test would come when they entered that dangerous territory.

As the members of the special team were awakened S-rankers, the real test would come as they ventured deeper and deeper into that dangerous territory.

...

Three days later, sleeping only five hours a day, they advanced as quickly as they could. If it had been just the special team, they would have arrived in a day or two, but they had to allow the human sacrifices to rest.

...

It was 6 p.m. when the head of an S-rank warrior who had separated from the group to go take a shit returned.

"Everyone, alert!" exclaimed a man with short black hair, wielding a sword, in a firm voice.

What had returned was a third of the adventurer's head, with uneven flesh, and it looked as if the brain had been partially devoured.

Bang!

One of the drones in the air exploded, and before it exploded, a shadow was seen. Then another drone transmitted the scene.

The mages reinforced the warriors and the awakened ones who possessed great defensive power.

At that moment, the vast and wild forest seemed to come alive, the trees rustled, and the monsters approached.

A monster in rank A or lower was no problem, but hundreds of monsters would prevent the special team from protecting the human sacrifices.

...

Three centipedes with dark green, shiny exoskeletons and terrifying, poisonous jaws. They were 7 meters long and ranked A+.

It wasn't just the green centipedes. The "Cerebrals" were also approaching.

The "Cerebrals" were fearsome two-meter moths that loved to devour the brains of their prey using their proboscis. After devouring them, they left two eggs in the body of their prey in the place where the brain had been. The eggs kept the body alive until they hatched, and two larvae devoured the rest of the body in which they were born, then used the body as a shell to reach maturity and become "Cerebrals." Cerebrals were B+ rank monsters, although there was a possibility that there were some of higher rank.
