Chapter 3 - CH3

" Oh what a fool I am " He stepped out of the bar, looking at the neon sign one more time before moving on. " And here I thought I was simply in gta and that's it ... it appears I've been abit narrow minded "

He had thought he was exclusively in the GTA universe and for the longest time he had thought it an impossibility for there to be anything else. It seemed he was wrong.

' Though now that I think about it, there may have been some signs ' Now he was wracking his brain, scratching it for memories of inconsistencies, people that shouldn't be, places that contradicted gtas universe.

' How amusing ' He flagged down a cab, settling himself in as he leant over to the driver. " To schottler "

" On it boss " The russian cabby responded, peeling off and away from the underground bar before anything else surprising could happen.

....

" Eh madman ya bag wagwan " Badman shouted as he let Cole into the apartment, the two clapping their hands together as he stepped into the weed smothered apartment. " How ya business ting go "

" It went real well, I think I'm about ready to start my life here now " Cole stepped past Badman, moving through the apartment to the lounge room where Badman had set up a bunch of papers, apparently midway through packing a joint. " Do you breath with this "

" Ahha funny madman, rude boy got da business goin on down da corner" Badman waved at Cole and stepped out, having been already leaving the apartment when Cole returned.

" No worries" He planted himself down in the recliner, dumping his backpack on the floor, ready to capitalise on Badmans momentary departure.

' Open system shop ' Cole grunted, leaning forward and clearing a portion of the table of scraps of food and guns.

[ SHOP OPEN ]

[ SELECT PURCHASE ]

' Fifteen kilos of molded RDX and a duffel bag '

The system selected the two requests, selecting the white crystalline explosive mold and the bag he wanted to carry them in.

[ Cost 300 shop tokens ]

' Exchange ' He agreed, seeing the tokens vanish from his count before the world infront of his visibly shifted.

They landed with a soft twack, wrapped in silver coloured wrapping, whilst the bag appeared next to his recliner.

' Like a drop in a bucket ' He chuckled at the cheap cost of the blocks of RDX from the system. Well cheap was a relative term. The system shops exchange rate was 1:100, meaning any cost he brought through the system might be a hundred times more expensive in real life.

With the system giving him 100 tokens at 12:01 every day, it was laughable easy to stock up on points. But it was even easier to spend them if he wasn't careful. He had afterall, quite the stockpile through his years of frugality, living by his means from daily gifts from the system. ' Whoever can't survive off one hundred dollars a day needs to check themselves '

' Three hundred huh, for thirty nine points I get the bag ' He grabbed the duffel at his foot. ' If I'm going by that, that means these blocks of RDX have a combined token exchange of two hundred and sixty one points ... Holy shit, that's seventeen hundred dollars a kilo of RDX ... this shits expensive '

The door to the apartment opened with shuffling feet, as Cole looked back like a deer caught in headlights.

Badman stared, he'd only been out of the apartment for three minutes to pick up his takeout delivery, and now at the centre of the dining table sat fifteen kilograms of RDX.

" Eh ya fukn mental madman, why you do dis ting ere" He motioned the pizza at the wrapped bricks capable of leveling the building if they went off right now.

" Sorry I just needed to count stock " From beside the couch he pulled out a duffel, Gently placing the multi kg bricks of RDX tightly together until it was full. " Let's just be careful with this here "

" Don ave ta tell ma madman " Badman sat down apon the double couch, sliding a packet onto the ground from the otherside of the table as Cole finished moving the molded bricks into the bag.

" Got anywhere safe I can put this " Badman gestured to the corner of the room next to the TV cabinet.

" Over dere madman " Cole rose and placed the bag in the corner, pulling out a padlock and sealing the zippers.

" Thaaank you " Cole settled himself down back Into the recliner, " What's on the itinerary for the evening "

" Got da rude boy down da corner running an erand" Badman raised the cheese pizza from the box, watching the strings of cheese as they stretched. " Den we get Don da women, a pretty piece and her friends from down stairs "

" Sounds like a party, say ... how long you reckon Jacob's gonna be out for " He took a slice from the box, shoving the tip of the pizza in his mouth m, savouring the taste as it bubbled in his mouth.

" Should be back now, let me give da rude boy a call" Badman reached into his pocket, shifting slightly so he could still see the TV, pulling out the brick of a phone, lifting it to his ear as he called Jacob.

Their meal was stopped the moment the call was picked up, with Badman shooting to his feet as gunshots echoed through the phone.

" BADMAN " The call suddenly went dead, the Jamaican holding the phone tossing the crust of his pizza to the side as he jumped the couch.

" HEY WAIT UP " Cole darted to his feet, grabbing the duffel back of RDX that hadn't sat for more than ten minutes. " Where's Jacob at "

" It's Jacob da madman, rudeboy in trouble don der in da corner dis ting we go " Badman panicked, his speech slurring into a thicker Jamaican accent as they ran.

Cole followed Badman as they leapt down the stairs, crashing onto the first floor as they rushed around to am emperor parked around the corner.

" Ya drive madman " Badman tossed the keys to Cole whom ripped open the front door, slotted the keys and started the car.

" Alright guide me, let's go save your little errand boy "

" Dis way "

...

They pulled up infront of a warehouse on the outskirts of broker, near the pier, rundown and sparecely populated thanks to the echoing noise of gunfire.

" GO, go get em, I'll be there shortly " Cole watched as Real Badman ripped the door to the car open, and broke into a dead sprint at the the front of the building where several gangsters stood around to guard.

" EH YA FUCKN STUPID BATTY BWOY" They turned in surprise as Badman raised his AK, and didn't so much as hesitate to pull the stringer and spray the four gangsters at the front door in a rain of bullets.

' He can handle himself for a minute ' Cole quickly got to work, cutting into one of his blocks of C4, making quick work of wiring and attaching detonators, before stuffing two ready made bombs into his backpack.

By the time he was finished, badman had already gained the attention of the rival Jamaican posse members inside, as he had been forced to take cover behind the front doors of the warehouse.

' Let's go ' Cole pulled out his GEN 6 glock, pulling out the clip of ammo to check it was full, before nodding to himself, slotting it back in and opening the car door.

' Shop exchange, bullet proof vests '

The shop fulfilled his request without asking for exchange approval, as a vest appeared on the passenger seat that he readily strapped on.

' Perfect ' He slotted several clips into the ammo pouch before slinging his backpack over his shoulder, leaving the car and making a slow march towards the warehouse front.

He crouched down and sauntered up to Badmans side, ducking down as several tracks rattled the otherside of the thick steel doors.

" How many are there " Cole asked, leaning his back against the door, hand raising and moving badman away from the gap between the slightly ajar doors.

" Madman mus be thirty in dere, dis ting bullshit " Badman hissed as Cole nodded, puckered his lips and pulled out his earphones.

" Alright ... I'll take the front, try find a way round the back or onto the roof " Was all he said as he slotted his earbuds into his ears and began to play his music.

Whatever badman said was drowned out by Korn blasting in his ears.

" Daddy's, flown across the ocean " He locked in, focussing solely on what was infront of him, all stray thoughts vacating his mind, only his breath slowly escaping as Badman seemed to give up before running and rounding the corner of the warehouse.

He pulled out his phone, inching closer to the gap between the open doors, using the front facing camera to peek into the warehouse.

' Four in the front ... six behind them... approximately twelve heading towards the back ... alright ' He raised his glock, following the trajectory suggested in the camera.

' Ten degrees ' He tilted his gun upward slightly, and waited.

No less than two seconds later, the posse gangster hiding behind the crate rose, only to find a sizeable hole punching clear through his face, brain matter exploding throigh the back of his skull as a 9mm bullet wizzed through his skull.

' One ... ' Cole adjusted his aim as the others ducked down in shock, clearly they had expected him to atleast pop his head out to aim, not to use a phone advanced enough to be alien to them to peer around the corner and aim for him. And so he moved slightly, turning the glock thirty degrees to the right to the hiding spot of another.

' Two ' The second had only risen half an inch from behind cover as a portion of his forehead evacuated his body, collapsing to the ground in a spray of red and grey brain matter.

' Three ... four... five ' One by one they dropped like flies, without so much as even peeking around the corner, they splattered to the ground, puddles of blood flowing from their bodies as they lay there, deceased.

' Six ' A man standing on a second story catwalk collapsed as a bullet cut through his neck, blowing a gouge into his neck that bled profusely, he'd be dead before he could even drag himself a metre.

' And ... ' He smirked as he simply pointed the pistol away from the nearest goon, instead aiming seemingly at nothing.

' Seven '

[ Seventh star activated ]

The pistol shuddered as the seventh bullet exploded from the chamber, and defied physics in a way no bullet should be able to.

It arc through the air, striking a loose panel, rebounding several more times off of boxes, panels and steel beams before passing through the heads and necks of three goons hidden across the back of the warehouse wall.

' HA... wonderful ' Cole laughed, scratching his chin, turning his gaze back to the camera.

" Hm ... not as ignorant as I thought they were" With nine down in seconds, they kept themselves low, crawling across the ground as they screamed in Patwa, the intensity of the situation forcing them to speak their native language.

He watched them, their shadows shifting as they crawled, using the crates riddled with bullets as cover to near the front door. ' come on boys, alittle closer '

He reached into his pack, fingers toying at the primer on one of the C4 packs he had prepared.

' Ah ... not that way 'He quickly aimed to the left, shooting at the concrete ground, blocking one direction they wanted to shift to. ' Stay together ... that's right ... all of you to the right ... keep close '

They moved slowly, their voices low in an attempt to maintain the secrecy of their movements, unaware he could see them on his phone.

' Alright ' He closed the camera as they bunched up behind the tight stack of crates taller than he was. He pulled up his call log, pulling up the contact connected to the C4 he was holding.

" HEY " He called into the warehouse, getting their attention.

" WAGWAN " A voice echoed back, as the barrel of an Uzi waved.

" CATCH " He adjusted his aim, instead of aiming for the side of the crates, he lobbed it underarm into the air, over the crates where the slab of white connected to wires hovered over their heads, the group finally noticing it suspended over their heads.

" Haha fucking idiots" He pressed the call button, as the charge reached the apex of its arch over their heads. Cole himself ducked, buying his head and he plugged his ears and let out a slow breath.

A single ring went out before a deafening clap escaped, the explosive charge blistering skin, a shock wave slamming into the goons whom collapsed to the ground, those closest to the charge were shredded by superheated air, the concussive force ripping bone, brain and organs apart as the improvised shrapnel peppered their friends in their own body parts.

Few who survived the initial explosion collapsed, scalped by the explosion, some had collapsed lungs or rattled brains, but none were going to live more than a few minutes.

As the last of his exhale finished, Cole unplugged his ears, raised his phone and studied the interior of the warehouse for any movement.

" All clear " He said to nobody in particular. kicking off of the door, pocketing his phone and earbuds before pulling his pistol to his chest.

He remained low as he entered, crossing between cover as quickly as he could, aiming everywhere, vigilant and aware of every little twitch.

He slammed into a crate, stepping onto the mangled flesh and hand of a severed arm.

" Sorry old chap ... " He kicked the mangled forearm away, before aiming around the crate to study the mangled remains of those shredded by the detonation.

" Phew ... any of you guys alive " He called out, and listened to the silence that responded. " I don't buy it "

And so he emptied his clip Into the corpses of anyone who had more two limbs attached, making sure they were infact departed.

" Better " He chuckled and surveyed the remainder of the warehouse, knowing fir a fact that not everyone was dead.

' If they're not down here then ... ' He looked to the stairs that lead into a connected storage room, lips thinning as the back door to the warehouse ripped open.

" Where dey be, a heard an explosion " Badman called out, pausing apon seeing the remains of the rival Jamaican posse scattered about.

" Here .. there ... everywhere " He motioned to the spinal debris littered around, the bone fragments peppering crates and the scorch marks of the explosion zone. " You want to verify "

" Er ... Nah madman ... let's go " And so he joined back up with Real Badman, both rushing to cover both sides of the entrance to the storage room.

" HEY ... IF ANYBODY'S IN THERE I SUGGEST YOU HAND OVER JACOB " Cole called out, pulling a small camera attached to the end of a feed line, silently sliding down to the floor as he began to feed the camera through the gap between the bottom if the floor and door.

" SHUT UP DERE YA PUSSY OLE " A voice responded, as Cole and Badman stared at the feed that came up on his phone once he connected to the camera." WE KILL YA MATE "

" I WOULDN'T DO THAT, BECAUSE IF YOU DO I'M THROWING ANOTHER C4 IN THERE AND NONE OF YOU ARE WALKING OUT " Cole noticed the far side of the room had a panelled up window, gesturing for badman to make his way around to the other side.

" Before you go... take this " Cole gave badman the second and last of the C4 he had on him.

" Keep dem distract " Badman quickly fled back the way he came, making his way around to the side of the building as Cole continued exchanging barbs and hostile words as the spooked posse tried to negotiate.

" HEY GUYS I'D REALLY LIKE TO WALK OUT O ERE " Jacob called, crouched in the corner under gunpoint from two posse standing over him, the others had their guns aimed at the door.

" Kibba ya mouth " One slapped him up the side of the head with the pistol, but none dared shoot him knowing Cole outside would blow them up if anything happened.

" I'll tell ya what " Cole studied their positions, occasionally checking the window in the feed for movement..

" WHAT " The leader, a man crouched near the back of the formation, yelled out.

" Let him go, I'll take him and we'll leave, no more need to die today " He responded, taking the chance to exchange clips to make sure his pistol had full ammo. ' Take out the remainder later '

He watched them seemingly talking to eachother silently, with the audio of the camera unable to pick up on what they were saying.

" WHAT SAYS DA MADMAN WON'T KILL US AFTA" The leader cried out, the group looking between the door he was behind and Jacob in the corner, none of them noticing the hand prying a board off of the window in complete silence.

" My word ... I just want my friend here " His reply made them return to huddling together in silence, as Badman silently placed the C4 on the windowsill before quietly leaving without casuing any disruption.

" OKAY MADMAN, WE GIVE YA THE MAN AN YA LET US GO " They finally agreed, knowing that either way, nomatyer what they did, they were in a lose lose situation. They kill Jacob, they experience a firey death. They realitate, same thing. He had the advantage and they knew it, best to recuperate abd come back another day.

" Sounds good to me " He watched, as they grabbed Jacob by his underarm, and held him up as a shield as he was dragged to the front door.

' Good ... 'Cole dragged the fed camera back through, as he saw badman re-enter through the back door, a silent nod passing between them.

He rewound the camera up and stashed it back into his pack, opening his contacts in his phone just as the door opened ever so slightly.

" ere ya batty bwoy, you leave " They shoved Jacob through the door, slamming it shut, ready for Cole to fulfilled his end of the promise.

" Alright we're going " They stepped back several metres, facing the door incase they chose to attack now, only when they reached the other side of the warehouse, behind cover, did they relax.

" Ya got me back " Jacob didn't hesitate to wrap Cole and badman up in a relieved hug.

" Let's go ... quickly " The police would be coming soon, both parties knew that, best to make themselves scarce before that. And so they stepped out to the front of the warehouse where the car lay, doors still open, duffel still open on the passenger seat.

" We just let dem go " Jacob asked, pausing as Cole brought up his phone.

" Nah " He clicked the call button, and smiled slightly as a thunderous clap echoed from within the storeroom, the outside facing window of the warehouse blowing apart violently as dust, debris and shrapnel scattered in a ten metre cone onto the ground.

Jacob flinched, taking half a step back as he looked back wide eyed, Staring back at what they knew would now be a mangled storehouse full of bodies.

" Let's go ... cops are coming "
