Witch hunter.
The words send shockwaves through our coven. Panicked voices rise from every corner of the room, witches demanding answers. Witch hunters pose the worst kind of threat. They want us dead, and they know exactly how we operate.
These humans have tangled with our kind before. They understand spellcasting basics and carry protective amulets that can block our magic completely.
I scan the room, counting maybe four other witches with abilities like mine. All of them are at least twice my age.
Energy manipulation flows through me like breathing. It's why I never fit in during my school years. Most witches spend decades studying to achieve half of what I could do as a teenager.
The ones who can't summon raw energy or push attackers away telekinetically will be sitting ducks if this hunter strikes.
