Chapter 15 - Chapter : The Windsword Who Challenged a Star

The moment Bareth finished manifesting, the air of Lvandal twisted.

Dark mana surged like a storm.

Kevin stepped forward.

His eyes were calm.

His sword trembled—not from fear, but from anticipation.

"Second Star or not," Kevin said quietly, "you crossed the wrong land."

The wind answered him.

Wind Steps

Kevin vanished.

The ground exploded behind him as compressed wind launched his body forward. In less than a breath, he closed the distance, appearing directly before Bareth.

The demon barely had time to react.

First Technique — Gale Edge

Kevin slashed lightly.

Dozens of razor-sharp wind blades burst forward, striking Bareth from multiple angles. The air screamed as the blades cut through demonic defense, forcing the demon to retreat several steps.

"So fast," Bareth muttered.

Second Technique — Vacuum Sever

Kevin twisted his wrist.

The space around Bareth collapsed inward, crushing him under invisible pressure. The demon planted his feet, claws digging into the ground as shockwaves rippled outward.

"Pressure control… troublesome human."

Third Technique — Sky Rend

Kevin leapt high.

His sword descended in a vertical arc.

The sky itself seemed to split as compressed wind slammed Bareth downward, carving a massive line across the battlefield and shaking the surrounding buildings.

Fourth Technique — Tempest Fang

Without landing, Kevin spun.

Rotating wind currents shaped like fangs formed around his blade, drilling into Bareth repeatedly. Each impact forced the demon back, sparks of dark mana scattering into the night.

Bareth growled in irritation.

Fifth Technique — Aerial Break

Kevin appeared behind him.

A precise strike shattered the air beneath Bareth's footing, disrupting his balance completely. For a brief moment, the demon staggered.

Kevin did not waste that moment.

Sixth Technique — Storm Pulse

Kevin thrust forward.

A concentrated pulse of wind detonated point-blank, slamming directly into Bareth's core. The shockwave blasted outward, flattening everything nearby.

Bareth roared.

Seventh Technique — Wind Prison

Kevin swung his blade in a circular motion.

The air solidified into invisible walls, binding Bareth's movements and slowing him just enough to expose openings.

"Binding wind?!" Bareth snarled.

Eighth Technique — Flash Cut

Kevin disappeared again.

Before sound could catch up, strikes landed across Bareth's body from every direction. The air echoed with delayed shockwaves as Bareth staggered backward.

Ninth Technique — Horizon Slash

Kevin planted his feet.

His blade swept horizontally.

The wind erased distance itself, sending a massive crescent of pressure crashing into Bareth and launching him across the battlefield.

The demon skidded to a halt, smoke rising from his form.

Tenth Technique — Absolute Draft

Kevin raised his sword.

The wind around Bareth became relentless—constant, crushing, unyielding. Every movement became heavy, every breath resisted by pressure itself.

For three full minutes, Kevin attacked without pause.

Ten strikes every three seconds.

The battlefield collapsed under the storm.

Then—

Bareth laughed.

Dark energy surged violently as his wounds closed.

"Enough," Bareth said, his voice deep and twisted.

"Now witness the power of a true Star."

Demonic Blood Art

Dark mana erupted like a tidal wave.

Kevin was driven back, his wind defenses shattering under the force. Heavy blows followed—each one powerful enough to destroy buildings.

Kevin bled.

But he stood.

Even while taking hits—

He struck back.

Sword and claw clashed, shaking Lvandal to its core.

Kevin inhaled slowly.

"…One strike," he thought. "That's all I have."

He raised his sword toward the sky.

The wind spiraled violently around the blade.

"Whirling Wind — Solar Eclipse."

A massive sphere of rotating pressure formed, swallowing light and sound alike.

Bareth's expression changed.

"You won't finish that!"

"Demonic Annihilation!"

Darkness surged forward.

Light appeared.

A trembling barrier stood between Kevin and destruction.

"Uncle… Kevin…"

Jimmy.

"Protection of Light."

The barrier shattered—but held long enough.

Kevin's eyes sharpened.

The eclipse completed.

Kevin moved.

One strike.

The wind devoured the night.

Bareth screamed.

"HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!"

Kevin's voice was steady.

"Just like I said."

"I am more than enough."

The demon vanished.

Kevin rushed forward.

"Jimmy!"

He caught him as the boy collapsed—unconscious, mana completely drained.

Kevin held him tightly.

"…You saved me."

The wind finally calmed.

Lvandal still stood.

But legends had been born.
