Chapter 62: No One Believed Him
"Heh heh, Lord Tobirama is going to personally judge you!"
Danzo froze for a moment, then forced out an awkward laugh. "You're all dead for sure."
Hearing this, Li Jie xuan instinctively curled his lips. Senju Tobirama was a Hokage, after all—someone of that stature couldn't possibly be this petty…
Suddenly, Li Jie xuan caught sight of Senju Tobirama's face, dark as the bottom of a pot, and quietly shut his mouth.
Maybe Tobirama wouldn't be like this with others—but with him…
Li Jie xuan sighed silently. This was the consequence of messing around too much.
"Come in!"
Senju Tobirama pulled open the tent flap of the main camp. Danzo strode in with swagger, grinning viciously as he walked. "You're done for. Leaving your post without authorization during wartime—let's see how Master deals with you!"
Danzo didn't take a single word Li Jie xuan or Uchiha Yuya had said seriously.
Attack is the best defense? What nonsense—don't bring out that kind of garbage just to make people laugh…
The entire Konoha allied force was pinned down on the defensive line, unable to move. Any slight movement would immediately draw several times more Sand ninja in retaliation.
How were they supposed to attack?
Li Jie xuan couldn't be bothered to deal with Danzo. This guy had been useless from childhood to adulthood.
Useless in life, ugly in death…
Following them into the tent, Senju Tobirama showed not the slightest intention of shielding Li Jie xuan. He sneered coldly. "Speak. What reason do you have for leaving the defensive line?"
Senju Tobirama fixed his gaze on Li Jie xuan's group. The overwhelming pressure of a Kage-level presence made the air itself feel thick and heavy. Uchiha Yuya, who had been strutting arrogantly just moments before, couldn't utter a single word now…
"Because we don't need to defend."
Li Jie xuan curled his lips in disdain. "Only trash and cowards shrink back on their own turf, trembling in fear!"
At those words, not only Danzo—even Senju Tobirama frowned involuntarily.
Li Jie xuan wasn't just insulting Danzo or one or two people…
What Li Jie xuan was really saying was this: everyone here—every single one of you—is a damn piece of trash, a spineless coward!
Being humiliated like this, even Sarutobi Hiruzen found it hard to swallow. After all, they had been labeled geniuses from the moment they were born. "Trash" and "coward" were words that cut far too deep…
Sarutobi Hiruzen barely managed to endure it, but the overly sensitive Danzo completely snapped, leaping up and preparing to attack. "You little brat, you're courting death—Wind Release—"
"Shut up!"
Senju Tobirama stopped Danzo in a panic, wearing a strangely cautious expression, as if afraid someone might get hurt.
Although he restrained Danzo, that didn't mean Senju Tobirama would tolerate Li Jie xuan's recklessness!
"Li Jie xuan, I know that back in Konoha you made a name for yourself through despicable methods, but that kind of thing won't work with me."
Senju Tobirama shook his head with a cold smile.
"If this time you can't produce an explanation that convinces me, then I'll have no choice but to punish you! This time, no one will be able to save you!"
As he spoke those final words, Senju Tobirama cast a strange glance toward Yamada Xunzhen behind Li Jie xuan.
Before Li Jie xuan could even respond, Danzo jumped up again. "Kid, you're dead! Just wait to die!"
Petty as ever, Danzo had already marked Li Jie xuan as the second person he wanted to kill—right after Sarutobi Hiruzen!
"What a clown…"
Li Jie xuan shook his head disdainfully and extended his hand toward Might Guy. "Uncle Might, bring out our spoils."
"Mm!"
Might Guy placed a bulging ninja pouch into Li Jie xuan's hands.
The heavy pouch was still stained with blood that hadn't yet dried…
Gripping the weighty ninja pouch, a surge of anger rose in Li Jie xuan's chest. This pouch was the result of them plunging deep into enemy territory, fighting and killing over many days.
Looking around, pairs of undisguised contemptuous gazes swept over him…
No one—not a single person—believed what he said.
