Hannah's pov
I kept wondering what the two of them were doing. Why were they so quiet? They sat there staring at one another as if they were having a conversation only they could hear. It was unnerving to see the Hollow King and his son so still, their eyes locked in a silent battle of wills.
I approached the table with my heart hammering against my ribs. I gave a small, respectful nod to the Hollow King as my father introduced us.
"Hannah, it is nice to meet you. This is my son, Alpha Kasper," the Hollow King said, gesturing toward the man sitting across from me.
I sat down, my silk gown rustling against the chair. I gathered my courage and turned to sneak a quick look at Alpha Kasper. This was the man I had been crushing on for a very long time. Just months ago, I was mopping floors and hiding in the shadows of the ragnars, dreaming of a life that didn't involve hunger and cold.
