Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the Tragedy

In a city in India, a woman lived with her daughter named Anuradha.

Anuradha was eighteen years old and a first-year college student. Along with her studies, she worked part-time as a private tutor for children. Her family was poor, and every rupee mattered.

Anuradha's father had died in an accident when she was only five years old. She also had an elder brother, two years older than her. No one knew where he was now. Just a few days after their father's death, her brother disappeared without a trace. His name was Rohan.

People believed that Rohan loved his father deeply and must have taken his own life after losing him. But Anuradha's mother never accepted this. She believed with all her heart that her son was still alive.

---

One day, while Anuradha was on her way to college, fate crossed her path with a man who could hardly be called human. He was a billionaire—rich beyond imagination—but rotten to his core. He derived pleasure from assaulting underage girls.

His eyes fell upon Anuradha.

She looked beautiful to him, and dark thoughts filled his mind. His name was Mohan. To carry out his crimes, he employed a secretary named Amit.

Mohan spoke coldly,

"I want that girl. At any cost. Do whatever it takes—money, sweet words, force. I don't care. I want her."

Amit replied,

"Understood, sir."

---

The next day, while Anuradha was going to college, her friend Riya approached her.

"Anuradha," Riya said, "you're poor, right? Don't you want money? I can tell you an easy way to earn a lot."

Anuradha looked at her with curiosity and hope.

"Tell me. What kind of work?"

Riya pointed toward a car parked nearby.

"See that car? There's a rich man inside. You just need to make him happy, and he'll make you rich."

Anuradha frowned.

"What do you mean by 'make him happy'?"

Riya smirked.

"Are you a child? You understand exactly what I mean."

Without hesitation, Anuradha slapped Riya across the face.

"Never come near me again," she said firmly.

"And don't ever call yourself my friend. I didn't know you could fall so low for money—but don't compare me to yourself."

She walked away.

Riya went straight to the car and told Amit,

"She refused. I told you already—she won't agree."

Amit laughed coldly.

"If she won't agree, then I'll see how long even her father can stop her."

---

The next day, Amit went to Anuradha's house while she was not home. He made the same offer to her mother.

Anuradha's mother slapped him hard.

"We may be poor," she said, trembling with anger,

"but that doesn't mean anyone can come and bargain for my daughter."

Amit left with a sinister smile.

"You'll pay a heavy price—for this. You and your daughter both."

Anuradha's mother felt uneasy but decided not to tell Anuradha. She didn't want to burden her daughter with fear or tension.

---

That same day, the phone rang.

"Mom… it's me. Rohan."

Anuradha's mother froze.

"What are you saying? This is not something to joke about," she said in disbelief.

"I'm really Rohan, Mom," the voice said.

"I'll be coming home in two days."

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Is it really you? My son?"

"Yes, Mom. It's really me."

She cried uncontrollably.

"Where have you been? Why didn't you call us earlier? Didn't you care about us?"

"I'll explain everything when I come," Rohan replied calmly.

"How is Anu? She must have grown up a lot… even teaching children now."

Then he added,

"Mom, don't tell Anu about me yet. Let's surprise her."

"Alright, my son," she said softly.

"Come home soon."

---

The next day, Anuradha went to college. Suddenly, the college principal called her to his office.

"Bring your mother tomorrow," he said.

"I need to speak with her."

"About what, sir?" Anuradha asked.

"I'll talk to her directly," the principal replied.

When Anuradha told her mother at home, her mother hesitated.

"Rohan is coming tomorrow… I needed to prepare for him."

But Anuradha insisted,

"Sir said it's very important."

Reluctantly, her mother agreed.

That evening, while Anuradha was teaching tuition, her mother called Rohan and gave him the house address.

"I'll leave the keys under the flower pot," she said.

"I'll cook food for you. Eat when you arrive."

"Okay, Mom," Rohan replied.

---

The next morning, Anuradha's mother woke up early and cooked many dishes. When Anuradha saw this, she asked,

"Why are you making so much food so early?"

"You'll find out," her mother smiled.

"It's a surprise."

As they were about to leave for college, her mother drank water, and the glass slipped from her hand and shattered.

She panicked.

"Breaking a glass is considered inauspicious. Should we go tomorrow instead?"

Anuradha held her hand gently.

"Mom, these are old beliefs. Nothing will happen."

Trusting her daughter, she agreed.

---

At 9:42 AM, Anuradha and her mother entered the principal's office.

At 2:00 PM, a terrorist organization launched a brutal attack on the college.

At least 2,000 students were injured.

More than 800 people lost their lives.
