Chapter 70 - Part Four - Chapter seventy

CHAPTER SEVENTY: A NEW DAWN

The morning sun bathed the city in gold as Lucy stood by the window, her baby nestled safely in her arms. The soft coos and tiny yawn brought a smile to her face. Life had been unpredictable, messy, and sometimes painful-but it had led her here, to this moment of peace, love, and clarity.

Mike approached quietly, wrapping his arms around her shoulders from behind. "Good morning," he whispered.

"Good morning," Lucy replied, leaning into him. She glanced down at their little one, feeling a swell of gratitude and joy. "I can't believe how far we've come."

Mike kissed the top of her head. "I can. I've seen your strength every day. You've built a life full of love, and I'm honored to be part of it."

Lucy turned in his arms, meeting his gaze. "We've built this together. And I finally understand what happiness feels like-not the fleeting kind, but the steady, enduring kind that comes from love, trust, and being with the right person."

Mike smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Then let's keep building it-together, every day."

Lucy leaned forward, pressing her lips to his in a gentle, lingering kiss. Their baby stirred happily, and in that quiet moment, the three of them felt complete. The past was behind them, and the future stretched bright and limitless ahead.

Together, they had love, family, and a life worth cherishing.
