Chapter 4 - chapter three awakening of the path

Kael sat at his desk, the pendant clutched tightly in his hand. The morning sun shined through his window, but the glow of the city outside felt almost unreal. Every cell in his body still thrummed with the pendant's energy, a heart that was not his own but it was vibrating .He stared at it, curiosity mixing with fear . Just a small test.. he thought. I need to understand what it can do to survive this world .Taking a deep breath, Kael whispered the first word that came to his mind—"Show me your power.". The pendant pulsed. A faint blue light pulsated across his body and his mind,.His vision blurred, and suddenly, Kael could see the lines of energy moving through the city, faint but unmistakable. They connected buildings, energy, people, and objects in delicate graceful threads."What… what is this?" he murmured, curiosity and fear mixing with his thoughts.A sudden tug at his mind startled him. He saw a shadowed figure—just for an instant—standing atop a rooftop across the street. Its eyes glowed faintly in the darkness of his mind , and Kael felt a voice in his consciousness: "You are being watched."Heart racing and pounding, he tried to withdraw from his consciousness, but the pendant's energy surged, sending a spark through him. His vision doubled, then sharpened. The threads of energy shifted and flowed, bending slightly at his command. He gasped. This is… power , he realized. But with it came a sharp, twisting ache in his temples, like a warning. He had not yet learned the rules—what Selene had called the Path.A knock on his door startled him again twice . He spun his body around, clutching the pendant. No one was there—just a scrap of paper slid under the door. "The first lesson has begun. Control comes with awareness caution. Or you will be consumed."Kael's hands trembled as he read the note . The pendant hummed softly, almost impatiently, as if urging him to act. He understood now: the Path was not a gift—it was a challenge waiting to met head on and trampled on.And the city, with all its shadows and whispers voices, was already testing him.can you survive.
