She had never seen a method like this before.
It was fundamentally different from the White Doves of the CCG.
CCG investigators stored their quinque weapons inside square briefcases.
When facing an enemy, they would press the handle, the case would detach automatically, revealing the quinque inside, which was then activated for combat.
But Kyo hadn't done any of that.
He hadn't pressed anything.
He hadn't even been carrying a container.
"The hell is this guy…?"
For the first time, Takatsuki Sen's expression turned truly serious.
The moment that blue long blade appeared, she felt something she hadn't expected
Danger.
"…You're actually making me feel threatened," she muttered.
Then suddenly, her body began to tremble.
"Hehehe… hahahaha!"
"So exciting!"
"I'm thrilled!"
"I can't wait to tear you apart!"
"Fushimi Kyo… let me swallow you whole and turn you into my child!"
She burst into wild laughter.
In that instant, she fully entered her hunting state.
Her left eye turned pitch-black and blood-red the Kakugan igniting.
From the surface of her body, countless kagune erupted violently, wrapping around her layer by layer.
Her form began to expand at a visible speed.
In the blink of an eye
She transformed into a monstrous figure standing six to seven meters tall.
Chi chi chi!
Four massive gray-white skeletal arms tore out from both sides of her body.
A layer of crimson kagune immediately covered them, forming dense, sinewy muscle.
Boom!
All four claws slammed heavily into the ground.
Even from over twenty meters away, Kyo felt the earth shake beneath his feet.
"ROAR !"
A ferocious howl exploded from the monster's grotesque maw.
A violent gust of wind surged outward, blowing Kyo's hair sharply backward.
On the beast's head, that single crimson eye stared at him with murderous glee.
"Hahahaha die! Die!"
In just a few seconds, Takatsuki Sen had completed her kakuja transformation.
And it was different from the familiar One-Eyed Owl form.
This shape was far more aggressive.
Far more dangerous.
Kyo, who knew the original story well, understood this clearly.
Takatsuki Sen possessed an extremely high RC cell count, with near-perfect control over her kagune.
She could freely shift between different kakuja forms
And each form came with a different level of combat power.
At the very least, the form standing before him now was far stronger than the standard One-Eyed Owl.
And worse
This still wasn't her strongest state.
"So this is Takatsuki Sen…"
Kyo felt every cell in his body screaming danger.
For the first time since entering this world, a genuine sense of dread crept into his heart.
At this moment, he was almost certain
In the original storyline, when Takatsuki Sen was cut in half by Kaneki, she had done it intentionally.
She had been feeding him experience.
After all, Kaneki Ken was the successor jointly chosen by both Arima Kishou and Takatsuki Sen the future One-Eyed King.
If Takatsuki Sen had fought seriously back then, Kaneki's kagune at that stage wouldn't even be worth mentioning.
"Here it comes!"
As Kyo's thoughts raced, a gigantic beast claw descended from above, smashing down toward him.
Before the attack even landed, its shadow had already swallowed his entire body.
"Nether Flash!"
Kyo unleashed the ultimate movement technique of the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu, shifting sideways more than ten meters in an instant.
BOOM!
The spot where he had been standing was obliterated.
A massive crater over ten meters wide appeared in the ground.
Seeing her strike miss, the monster snapped its gaze toward Kyo.
Its back writhed violently.
Kagune bloomed outward like a lotus.
Countless sharp kagune spikes erupted from her back.
"ROAR !"
The monster let out an earth-shaking bellow and crouched low.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh
A storm of kagune shot toward Kyo like a torrential rain.
Compared to this
Touka's Ukaku feather attacks were no more than tickling.
Shing!
Kyo drew his blade instantly.
The gleaming edge danced, transforming into a cascading river of steel that sealed off every inch around him.
Clang clang clang clang
Kagune spikes shattered and scattered across the ground.
Even so, the sheer force of the barrage pushed Kyo back nearly ten meters.
After blocking the attack, he sheathed his blade in one fluid motion
Then drew it again.
Sheathed.
Drew.
"Phantom Dragon Flash!"
Two illusory dragons surged forth from the blade, spiraling violently as they lunged toward Takatsuki Sen.
Though invisible to the naked eye, the monster clearly sensed something wrong.
Unease flickered through her.
She slammed her claws into the ground and roared toward Kyo.
BOOOOM
A deafening explosion echoed directly within the soul.
One of the phantom dragons detonated midair.
But the other pressed on relentlessly.
It lunged forward and bit down on the monster's head.
Instantly
The single crimson eye grew unfocused.
A drowsy haze spread across her consciousness.
"Now's my chance!"
A flash of delight crossed Kyo's face.
"Nether Flash!"
"Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki!"
He appeared directly in front of the monster.
Gripping his blade with both hands, he brought it down in a ruthless arc toward her head.
SHK!
Bloodsong struck true.
The blade nearly split the monster's head in half
Before being jammed violently by incomparably hard bone, unable to cut any deeper.
Agonizing pain ripped through the monster's nerves.
The momentary daze shattered.
Realizing she had been gravely wounded by such a tiny human
She erupted in fury.
Letting out an enraged roar, one massive claw swung horizontally toward Kyo, tearing through the air with annihilating force.
