Chapter 2: A Glimpse of Fate

The palace corridors were quiet as Emperor Kian walked with purpose, his mind still spinning from the vision in the mirror. The bustling world he had glimpsed seemed impossible, yet he could not deny its existence.

Returning to the mirror, he studied the reflection again. The city stretched endlessly, lights flickering like stars in the night. The people moved with urgency, speaking in strange tones, completely unaware of him. But one figure—standing at the edge of the crowd—caught his attention.

She was unlike anyone he had ever seen: poised, alert, and with eyes that seemed to pierce through the world itself. Kian felt an inexplicable pull.

At the same time, Detective Hana was reviewing reports of strange sightings across the city. "Another witness claims to have seen a man in… medieval clothing?" she muttered, raising an eyebrow. "This is getting ridiculous."

Yet something in the pattern caught her attention. The sightings were clustered near one location—a building that seemed ordinary, but with an odd, faint shimmer visible only at certain angles.

Later that evening, Kian stepped through the mirror. His heart pounded as the world shifted around him. The bright city lights, the honking cars, the chatter of strangers—it was overwhelming. He tried to remain invisible, but his appearance did not go unnoticed.

Hana had arrived at the building for her investigation, flashlight in hand. She paused when a tall figure stepped from the shadows. His attire was unmistakably from another era, and the way he carried himself… there was authority in every movement.

"Who… are you?" she asked, her voice steady but tinged with curiosity.

Kian bowed slightly. "I am… Kian. I mean no harm. I am—" he hesitated, unsure how to explain something that would sound impossible. "I come from… another world."

Hana blinked, studying him closely. There was something about his gaze, a mix of determination and vulnerability, that made her heart skip a beat. "Another world?" she echoed, skeptical but intrigued.

"Yes," Kian said softly, almost to himself. "And I think your world… and mine… are connected in ways neither of us fully understands."

A strange stillness fell over them, the noise of the city fading like a distant echo. For a brief moment, they simply stared at each other, two strangers bound by a fate neither could yet explain.

Kian knew that meeting her was only the beginning. The path ahead was uncertain, dangerous, and filled with questions he did not yet have the answers to. But one thing was clear: their destinies were now intertwined, across worlds.

And somewhere, in the shadows, eyes watched them—calculating, waiting, and ready to strike.
