Chapter 1 - chapter 1An Utterance of Agony

Laboni, an ordinary girl, made an extreme decision to save her brother. Her brother was trapped in an American prison due to a wrongful case, where he was constantly tortured. At the hands of a senior police officer, he suffered both physical and mental abuse every moment. Laboni had been silently waiting for the right opportunity, and one day, it came—she killed a powerful officer who had been abusing his power while spreading false words.

After Laboni was sent to prison, the atmosphere seemed to freeze. Everyone turned to look at her. Her black hair and piercing eyes mirrored those of her brother. Inside the female wing, she walked among the inmates. Her hands clenched, her posture strong, and her eyes radiated unyielding determination.

The same senior officer, who had been spreading lies and abusing his authority, appeared in the room. Laboni said nothing, but her gaze spoke volumes.

Suddenly, a female police officer entered. She announced, "Everyone stand outside the room. The inspection will begin. You will have to remove your clothes for the check." The women trembled in fear. The inmates inside, including Laboni, became subject to this rule.

According to the regulations of the senior American officer at the national office, everyone outside could observe the scene. What happened inside was not visible from within, but those outside could see everything clearly.

Laboni stood silently. Her heart was calm, yet her inner fire and unyielding strength blazed. Everyone watching could see that she was no ordinary girl. This prison was a new test for her—but Laboni was prepared. She knew that to save her brother, she would do whatever it took—fearlessly, resolutely, and without hesitation.

Inside the room, everyone stood in silence, fearful. Laboni, though an ordinary girl, carried an indomitable strength in her eyes. She prepared herself for the inspection, removing her outer layers as required. No one dared speak as all eyes were on her.

The senior officer, with a devilish glare, fixed his gaze on Laboni, as if testing her courage and strength. Adjusting his belt, his attention remained fixed on her.

At that moment, his bodyguard whispered nervously,

"Sir… what's happening?"

Laboni slowly prepared herself for the body check. Her abdominal muscles were toned and firm. The female officer carefully examined her, ensuring everything was normal.

The senior officer glanced at Laboni for a brief moment. Then, with a subtle gesture of his eyes, he silently instructed the female officer,

"Bring her to me," he said in a cold, commanding tone. The inspection ends.

The female officer writes something in her report and nods—everything is in order.

A collective breath escapes the room, yet the weight of fear does not lift.

Laboni calmly adjusts her clothes. There is no discomfort on her face, no sign of breaking.

She is calm—unnaturally calm—as if she controls the situation itself.

From a distance, the senior officer watches her.

There is no curiosity in his eyes—only calculation.

This girl unsettles him, not with fear, but with silent strength.

The female officer pauses, waiting for instructions.

After a moment of silence, the senior officer speaks coldly,

"Take her aside."

Laboni does not look back. She does not speak.

She simply walks forward, her head held high.

Today, she is an inmate in this prison—

but soon, these very walls will bear witness to her presence.

Suddenly, the air in the room changes.

A name rises from the senior officer's lips—

Laboni's brother.

That name is her greatest weakness… and her greatest strength.

For a brief moment, her eyes tremble—but she regains control.

Laboni slowly lifts her head.

For the first time, she speaks—her voice calm, fire burning beneath it.

"I want to see my brother."

The room falls silent.

The female officer stares. The bodyguard's eyes widen.

A faint smile curves on the senior officer's lips—

not a smile of warmth, but a predator's gaze.

Leaning slightly forward, he asks,

"Do you know what you're asking for?"

Laboni does not step back.

There is no fear in her eyes, no plea—

only resolve.

"I know," she says.

"That's why I'm asking."

At that moment, everyone understands—

this girl is not just an inmate.

There is something within her

that can challenge even the rules of this prison.

In the silence, Laboni's mind suddenly fractures into the past.

In an instant, she is no longer in the prison room—

she is back there.

Her brother stands behind iron bars.

Dark circles beneath his eyes, cracked lips, a broken voice.

"Appu… I can't take it anymore."

Those words still echo in her ears.

That was the day she understood—

the law here is not a protector,

the law here is a weapon.

Her fists tighten.

That is why she killed.

That is why she stands here now.

"I will not break,"

she tells herself.

"For my brother—

I will become fire if I must."

The flashback shatters at the sound of the senior officer's voice.

"You want to know about your brother?"

he asks slowly,

his voice empty of mercy, filled only with calculation.

Laboni looks at him.

"I want to see him."

A pause.

Then the senior officer smiles—

calm, cold, terrifying.

"You can see him,"

he says.

"But there will be conditions."

The room freezes.

"You will follow my instructions,"

he continues.

"No questions. No resistance."

After a moment, he adds,

"And remember—your brother is still alive

because I allow it."

A storm rages inside Laboni's chest.

But her face reveals nothing.

She speaks only once—

"Tell me the conditions."

For the first time,

a flicker of surprise

appears in the senior officer's eyes. The atmosphere in the room turned suffocatingly heavy as Henry revealed his true intentions. Every word and gesture was a calculated blow to Laboni's dignity. She realized that this man didn't just want her body; he wanted to dismantle her spirit entirely.

Once the room was cleared of others, Henry approached her slowly. His voice had shed its commanding tone, replaced by a toxic sort of intimacy. "My name is Henry," he said. "I am a high-ranking officer. Within these walls, my word is the only law."

He stood inches away from her. Laboni remained motionless, like a statue of stone. Leaning into the curve of her neck, Henry exhaled a warm, foul breath and whispered, "I want a special relationship with you. I'll visit from time to time... do you agree?"

The Mockery of Roses and American Tales

Receiving no answer, a cruel smirk spread across Henry's face. He caught the scent of her hair and mocked, "Do you like roses? You're like a wild rose yourself—full of thorns." He began to laugh, spinning tales of the grandeur and power he held in America—how he could crown someone a king or grind them into the dust at a whim.

Suddenly, he gripped her hand with crushing force. His fingerprints left dark marks on her fair skin. He kissed her hand with a derisive laugh, as if marking his territory and asserting ownership over her.

The Storm Within

As Henry laughed, a furnace of hatred blazed inside Laboni. But she knew that resisting now would mean never reaching her brother. Suppressing her rage, she looked directly into Henry's eyes. There was no surrender in her gaze—only the flickering shadow of a terrifying resolve.

The echo of Henry's laughter hadn't even faded when the heavy iron door swung open again. Henry let go of her hand and stepped back, a look of sadistic satisfaction in his eyes. Two guards dragged a man into the room. He was dressed in tattered prison rags, his body covered in bruises, his face gaunt and skeletal. Laboni's heart skipped a beat.

It was her brother.

An Utterance of Agony

Her brother no longer had the strength to even lift his head. But sensing the familiar scent or the presence of his sister, he slowly opened his eyes. Seeing Laboni in this dark cell, standing before a predator like Henry, tears pooled in his eyes.

In a broken, raspy voice, he whispered, "Appu... why did you come here? Run away..."

Henry's Cruel Game

Henry let out a booming laugh. He grabbed the brother by the hair, jerking his head up so Laboni could see the full extent of the torture he had endured. "Look, Laboni," Henry said. "This is your beloved brother. His life now hangs on the palm of my hand. I could free him today, or I could increase his hellish agony this very second."

He winked at her. The implication was clearto save her brother's life, she had to accept every condition he laid out.

An Unyielding Vow

Seeing her brother in this state tore Laboni apart internally. But she knew showing weakness would only embolden Henry. She looked into her brother's eyes and thought, Don't be afraid, brother. I am here.

She turned to Henry, her eyes like a calm but scorching volcano. In a low, steady voice, she said, "Release him. I will do whatever you want. But not a single scratch must touch my brother again."

Henry's laughter hit the walls and bounced back even more menacingly. "Oh, Laboni! You're much smarter than the tough girl I thought you were. But do you really think it's that simple?"

He paced toward her brother. The boy lay on the floor, half-conscious in pain. Suddenly, Henry leaned down and viciously yanked her brother's hair. The boy let out a sharp cry, his body arching in pain.

Henry forced the boy's face toward Laboni and screamed:

"Look! Open your eyes! Look at your sister, here to sacrifice herself for you. See? She is my puppet now!"

The brother tried to look at his sister through blurred eyes. His lips trembled. He desperately wanted to say—No, Appu, don't agree!—but no words came out. Only a low groan of agony.

Henry tightened his grip on the boy's hair and looked Laboni in the eye. "You said you'd do anything? Then prove it. Get down on your knees at my feet and admit that from today, you are my slave. Only then will I stop the torture for today."

The room fell into a deathly silence. The guards at the door watched the horrific scene. Inside Laboni, a cataclysmic storm was raging. On one side was her brother's unbearable pain; on the other, her own soul. Henry laughed, drunk on the thrill of victory, as if he were crushing Laboni's very spirit.
