Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A Barrage of Three-point Shots, Smelling Like Pure Money!

"No way, Su Yan, you actually have a Three-point Shot!"

Larry Hughes was greatly surprised.

Everyone in the locker room knew that Su Yan came to the New York Knicks as a vase.

It was the same nature as McGrady.

His existence was merely to increase popularity on the court; even if he didn't play, sitting on the bench was pleasing to the eye.

Basically, he didn't have much impact on the team.

Naturally, no one thought he had any offensive ability, but these two extended Three-point Shots were truly groundbreaking.

Generally speaking.

Once is luck, twice is coincidence.

But in the realm of extended Three-point Shots, one swish is barely understandable, and hitting two in a row definitely can't be linked to coincidence.

"I wasn't joking with you!"

Su Yan raised his chin and joked, "If the coach hadn't kept me off the court, how could we have fallen behind so much?."

As he spoke.

He leaned toward Larry Hughes and spoke serious nonsense: "Actually, I am the surprise weapon arranged by Coach Mike DAntoni.

I deliberately let the outside world think I'm a rookie.

And then... I'll shock everyone, catch the opponent off guard, and help the team win."

Su Yan told the lie without batting an eye.

"Really?"

Larry Hughes widened his eyes and exclaimed.

"Why are you shouting so loudly?"

Su Yan glared at him, putting on an act, then whispered, "Think about it. Our team has already lost 10 consecutive games.

If we keep losing, everyone's confidence will be shattered.

Right?"

Earlier, he had heard Reggie Miller mention an 11-game losing streak, so now it was 10 consecutive losses.

Not to mention... for the biggest city in the US, a 10-game losing streak is pretty bad.

"Yes, yes, yes!"

Larry Hughes nodded frantically.

"There you have it."

Su Yan looked indignant, "Now, as the secret weapon, I must play my part.

So... pass the ball to me more often from now on, don't hesitate, understand?!"

"Okay, okay, okay!"

Larry Hughes nodded wildly.

With this attitude... if Su Yan sold him, he'd probably still help count the money.

The game continued.

Less than a minute passed, leaving 4 minutes and 15 seconds, and a 14-point difference. The game seemed to gain some suspense.

"Swish!"

Serge Ibaka hit another mid-range shot... a steady make.

The 16-point difference stabilized the morale.

And when Larry Hughes was fooled into focusing solely on passing to Su Yan, everything became very simple.

Su Yan's offense also became unstoppable.

3 minutes and 47 seconds remaining.

At the top of the key, Su Yan found an opening using a screen, and Larry Hughes passed the ball immediately.

Catch and shoot Three-point Shot.

Quick as a flash.

"Swish!"

Another Three-point Shot made.

3 minutes and 1 second remaining.

In the left corner, Su Yan received the kick-out pass from Larry Hughes' drive and confidently launched another Three-point Shot.

Nick Collison's half-hearted defensive interference was completely ineffective.

Like the sun shining on the Incense Burner Peak producing purple smoke, this Three-point Shot flew straight.

"Swish!"

Made again.

2 minutes and 30 seconds remaining.

At the left top of the arc, Su Yan received the pass from Larry Hughes two meters beyond the Three-point line.

The Thunder reserve Small Forward, Etan Thomas, was guarding him but still gave Su Yan a step of space.

He had no choice.

From that distance, he couldn't possibly rush out to contest.

So, Su Yan didn't hold back at all.

He took another extremely decisive ultra-long Three-point Shot, leaving Etan Thomas stunned.

"That can't go in!"

He roared, snapping back to reality and looking up. The next second... the basketball ripping through the net made his scalp tingle.

In just 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Su Yan continuously drained five Three-point Shots, scoring 15 points, and single-handedly led the team to unleash a terrifying 15-2 counterattack storm.

In an instant.

The 20-point deficit was cut down to just 7 points.

At this point, no one could remain calm.

"Beep! Beep!"

Thunder Head Coach Scott Brooks immediately called a timeout.

He had to call a timeout to halt the extremely hot Three-point Shot barrage from the unknown young player, Su Yan!

That's right.

Su Yan forced the Thunder to call a timeout.

"Wait, what? What happened to the 'vase' everyone talked about?"

On the Thunder bench.

Harden was a little bewildered.

"Who knows."

Westbrook shrugged, "He went 5-for-5 on Three-point Shots. You could say we barely defended Su Yan.

But we have to admit, he's got some skills with the Three-point Shot."

"This is a bit of a headache."

Durant frowned, "At this rate, we might have to go back onto the court."

He wasn't particularly interested in Su Yan.

He was just annoyed at having to continue playing the game.

"Shit bro!"

Harden was both surprised and displeased.

He had just set a new career scoring record with 30 points and exited the game early to rest.

That was confidence.

That was perfect.

Having to go back in now felt somewhat embarrassing.

Crucially... who the hell was Su Yan, and why was he able to single-handedly force the famous "thunders big three" back onto the court this season?

He really didn't want to.

The reality was... the New York Knicks starters were preparing to return.

2 minutes and 30 seconds remaining.

A 7-point difference.

If the starters played against the reserves, combined with a shooter who had the hot hand, there would definitely be many opportunities.

Ending the 10-game losing streak.

Every player on the New York Knicks wanted this desperately.

A perfect opportunity was now presented to them, and there was no reason not to cherish it.

Don't wait until it's missed to express regret.

"The New York Knicks are planning to bring in their starters, so you guys go in too, just in case things get complicated."

Coach Scott Brooks walked up to the "thunders big three."

"No problem!"

Westbrook's expression hardened, "If we get handled by a vase, how can we survive in this league?"

"Exactly."

Harden also curled his lip, "Tonight is my career night, and I won't allow some nobody to ruin it!"

"Fine."

Durant nodded listlessly, "Then let's go out there, apply a little pressure, and let New York feel despair."

Peaking immediately upon debut.

Entering his third year, he was about to claim the Scoring Champion title.

Durant could view the game so nonchalantly because of his absolute confidence in his own ability.

"Beep! Beep!"

Shortly after.

The main game resumed.

The Thunder put in the "thunders big three" plus Power Forward Jeff Green, and Center Nenad Kostić.

Harden was originally a reserve.

But generally, in crucial moments, he would replace Thabo Sefolosha to play in high-stakes situations.

Tonight, his condition was hot.

There was even less reason for him not to stay on the court.

As for the New York Knicks.

Center David Lee, Power Forward Al Harrington, Small Forward Danilo Gallinari, Small Forward Su Yan, and Point Guard Chris Duhon.

McGrady couldn't play.

Al Harrington + Gallinari + Su Yan, three shooters, plus the rim-protecting David Lee, and Point Guard Douby.

This lineup was designed purely to catch up on the score.

The game began.

Thunder possession.

Westbrook received the ball, crossed half-court, settled at the top of the key, and looked for an opportunity to drive or pass.

The 208 cm Gallinari was matched up against Durant.

Su Yan was matched up against Harden.

Su Yan looked especially excited. Harden glanced at him and said, "Dude, you just hit a few Three-point Shots, is that really necessary?

I scored 30 points tonight, double yours, and I'm still calm and composed.

This is how a future superstar should look. Your perspective is too narrow; you definitely won't have much of a future!"

Su Yan rolled his eyes at him, "What the hell do you know!!!"
