Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Leon Fang’s Confusion

Leon Fang used the Broken Sword Style of the Dugu Nine Swords, forcibly dragging the gorilla into a momentary daze.

The gorilla stared blankly at Leon Fang, thinking to itself, You human… you're cheating! How can you change your moves in the middle of a fight? But you're underestimating the Yuan Ape Clan. Just watch me learn it, hehe.

Seeing Leon Fang standing there with a smug expression, the two clashed once more.

"Come on!" the gorilla roared. "I'll beat you until you're pulp!"

Leon Fang shouted loudly, "Watch closely—the Broken Sword Swordsman!"

Broken Sword Style:

A technique designed to break and dismantle the sword techniques of all schools and sects under heaven. Though it is only a single style, it contains the essence of countless sword arts. Though described as "without fixed moves," it is in fact built upon the accumulated foundations of all sword techniques in the world.

Leon Fang suppressed the gorilla for nearly ten minutes. But before long, the gorilla learned it again.

The more Leon Fang fought, the more alarmed he became.

This won't work…

He began fighting while retreating, then suddenly turned and fled. As he ran, he shouted, "Just you wait! I'll come back and fight you again next time!"

The gorilla did not chase after him. Instead, it stood there quietly, watching Leon Fang disappear into the distance.

At that moment, a gray gorilla nearly five meters tall stepped beside it.

The shocking thing was—this one could speak human language.

If Leon Fang were present, he would have been stunned beyond belief and shouted, So this is the real gorilla… a monster!

The giant gorilla spoke calmly, "What happened just now, son?"

It turned out the smaller gorilla was its child.

The young gorilla scratched its head, completely unaware of anything unusual.

"Oh, I was playing happily when that human kid suddenly rushed over and hit me. But his moves were so strange—so fun! They were different from what you taught me, but I've already learned them all."

The giant gorilla nodded slightly.

"Alright. Let's go back."

After speaking, it glanced in the direction Leon Fang had fled.

It was truly strange. In the past hundred years, no one had set foot on this island except Gold D. Roger. How had this human child found this place?

Leon Fang sat by the lake, lost in thought. He muttered to himself repeatedly, "How is this possible? This can't be real. Why is a gorilla more talented than me? Did it also cultivate the Lesser Formless Skill?"

Wait.

He hadn't sensed any internal energy from it at all.

Did it really just learn everything by watching? Or… was he truly too weak?

(That gorilla possessed strength comparable to a Marine colonel. The fact that Leon Fang, at seven years old, could fight it to a draw was already terrifying. If outsiders knew Leon Fang still thought himself weak, they would vomit blood in rage.)

"No… I must defeat it!"

With determination burning in his eyes, Leon Fang began carefully examining the Martial Compendium of Jin Yong within his mind. After reading for a while, he made a decision.

He would cultivate the Nine Yang Manual.

Anyone who had read Jin Yong's novels knew how terrifyingly powerful the Nine Yang Manual was.

Leon Fang immediately entered cultivation.

First Form: Tai Chi Qi-Gathering Method

Stand naturally facing east. Calm the mind and focus on the dantian for three to five minutes. Adopt natural breathing. Visualize pure yang energy descending from the heavens through the Baihui point, while yin energy rises from the earth through the Yongquan points. The two streams converge within the dantian, forming a Tai Chi diagram. Slowly rotate it, maintaining awareness without forcing concentration or letting it drift away. Each session should last at least one hour, preferably two. Once mastered, proceed to the next form.

It took Leon Fang an entire week to complete the first form—proof of how difficult the Nine Yang Manual was to cultivate.

Second Form: Misty Purple Qi

A warm stream of true energy flows from the dantian to the Yinqiao region, locking the Ren, Du, and Chong meridians before turning toward the Weilu Gate at the tailbone. It splits into two streams, ascending along both sides of the spine, passing the Lugu Gate, shoulders, and neck, finally reaching the Yuzhen Gate at the back of the head. This is known as "Reversing the True Qi Through the Three Gates."

The energy then surges over the Baihui point, splits into five paths, and descends to merge at the middle dantian. It divides once more into primary and secondary streams, returning to the lower dantian and completing a full cycle. The body feels as if nourished by sweet dew, while the true qi swirls like drifting incense smoke—this is Ethereal Purple Qi. After one year of practice, one may advance further. This step is best practiced while seated.

Third Form: The True Secret of the Coiling Dragon

At sunrise, sit facing the sun in the Five Hearts Facing Heaven posture. Focus on the dantian, then visualize sunlight transforming into five fire dragons, entering through the Baihui, Yongquan, and Laogong points, converging into a blazing sphere within the dantian. Visualize the sphere expanding to merge with the universe, then contracting back again. Repeat this cycle.

At night, repeat the process under moonlight, with fire dragons transforming into water dragons, and fire spheres into water spheres. Fire becomes the sun; water becomes the moon. The essence lies in transforming yang into yin.

Fourth Form: Vajra Body

The method mirrors the third form, but without the need to face the sun or moon directly. Fire Dragon cultivation requires extreme cold, while Water Dragon cultivation requires extreme heat. The principle is: Yin within Yang, Yang within Yin—ultimate Yin and ultimate Yang.

This cultivation lasted three full years.

Leon Fang's entire body burned like molten iron as he approached great completion. At that moment, he let out a thunderous roar.

Earth Dragon True Secret:

Rooted in the earth, strengthening the spirit. Stretching becomes bending; stillness becomes motion. Bending resembles a crouching tiger, stretching resembles a soaring dragon. Movement leaves no trace, expansion and contraction conceal all paths. The body is harder than iron, the technique as elusive as a dragon. Turning fierce as a tiger, spinning swift as a falcon—front and back, left and right, all transformations are clear.

"Give me—Leon Fang!"

At that instant, the surface of the lake exploded.

It's done! Hahaha! Who else?! Hahaha!

That was Leon Fang's state of mind.

He laughed wildly before finally calming down and inspecting his body.

"I've grown taller again. Not bad, not bad. Let's see… Martial Artist realm." He laughed loudly. "I never thought the Fang family would produce someone like me—reaching the Martial Artist realm after two hundred years."

After rejoicing for a while, Leon Fang fell silent. He sighed softly, wondering if he would ever be able to return home.

I'll keep cultivating.

I'm still not confident I can easily defeat that ape.

I'll cultivate for a few more years, beat it properly… then head out to sea and see whether this world is still Earth.

With that thought, Leon Fang once again entered cultivation.
