I tried using my powers, but they didn't work. My nody was too exhausted.
I closed my eyes and called to all the Pheonixes. I need help. Pyrolisks aboard the cruise. I'm locked in a closet. Powers don't work. I can't help. Gavins in trouble. Please come.
"I hope this reached them." I said to myself.
I waited for what felt like forever before the pheonixes arrived and exploded the door for me. I stood up and walked out, clenching my teeth from the pain of moving.
I hate this stupid body.
"We need to find Gavin." I announced. "Spread out." Dayla stayed with me while the other scattered the skies. I ran to the security room and saw on one monitor hundreds of pyrolisks. I looked at Dayla, and she looked worried.
"We've never handled this much before." She said, sounding like she was trying to be optimistic but failing miserably. "It's okay, we got this!"
I searched the moniters for any sign of Gavin. I noticed that the pyrolisks looked like they were searching for something, but I didn't see Gavin. The pyrolisks didn't attack any people. In fact, the people didn't even notice the pyrolisks. They didn't seem to smell the pyrolisks either. That's when it hit me.
The man. The man who called Gavin over. He said their was a mysterious bird that nobody knew of. Nobody here seems to see them, so why'd he lie? "Dayla. I need help." I addressed her, snapping out of my thoughts. "Can pyrolisks hypnotize a human? Or shape-shift?"
Daylas' face went pale, but she nodded. "One can shape-shift, but it's only in very rare cases. Theirs only one who has ever been documented and only one that has that power. His name is Gytham. He can only shape shift when he is with at least seven thousand other pyrolisks and when he is after something important to them. I think he's after you."
I jumped up from the computer screen and clenched my fist as another wave of pain shot through me. I faltered and gasped.
"Lady Alyssa! Are you alright?" Dayla screeched.
I nodded as I regained my composure. "I'm fine."
I turned back to the moniter and saw him. Gavin was cornered by hundreds of pyrolisks. He looked like he was terrified, but then he looked at the camera and mouthed the words I love Alyssa. Tell her to me.
I let out a choked sob as a pyrolisk pounced. Gavin threw his arm up to block it, and the pyrolisk bit down hard. His arm started gushing blood. It was dripping down his arm and onto the ship.
Suddenly, an overpowering feeling came over me. It was like anger, but more intense and terrible. I started floating, and it was like there was wind from all directions, and suddenly, I was standing next to Gavin. Dayla wasn't there, but I saw the shock on Gavins face as I appeared, and then the panic hit him. He jumped to cover me, but I stepped in front of him.
I was so furious that I waved my hand, and the pyrolisk on his arm turned to thick, black, smoke.
I looked over at all the others crowding us, and I let out a wave of anger from my body. It was so overpowering that it escaped my body in a wave of black fire. One after another, the wave crashed into them, and they turned to dust.
When I realized that we were safe, I looked over at Gavin and saw his arm. It had green bubbled spewing from it, and I stepped back in fear.
"G-Gavin?" I said shakily. "What's happening? Are you okay?"
He was staring at his arm, and I could see the moment when it hit him. He looked at me and gave me a sad smile.
"No. I'm not okay, but that's okay. It's fine because you're okay."
I watched as he fell to the ground, siezing, green foam bubbling from his mouth as he shook.
I screamed as I hurried to help him, but before I could touch him, Dayla appeared and shoved me back almost ten feet. All the pheonixes rounded the corner as she flew away from his body. They tied him up, and I screamed as I watched them bring him somewhere.
I looked at Dayla with hatred in my eyes. "What the hell is going on? What are you doing!" I screamed, but Dayla just looked down at the ground. "Answer me!"
"I'm sorry, Lady Alyssa. We are keeping you safe, even if that means we have to kill your boyfriend."
