Chapter 7 - The Shadow’s Mercy

The Torture Chamber:

The scene is grim. Serina and Evelyn are bound by "Mana-Suppression Chains" in a cold, underground facility. Lord Kaelen Leonhart stands over them, his face twisted in a mix of bruised ego and rage.

Lord Kaelen: "You made us look like fools in front of the lower-ranked hunters. You think because you've found some 'lucky' protectors, you're above the law of the Families?"

Lady Elara: (Coldly) "Give them twenty lashes with the Lightning Whip. Let them remember who truly owns their lives."

The Lead Executioner steps forward, his hand crackling with high-voltage mana. He raises the whip, his eyes cold. "Forgive me, Lady Serina. This is for the 'glory' of the house."

The Intervention:

CLANG!!

Suddenly, a half-empty grape soda can flies out of the darkness. It hits the Executioner squarely in the forehead with the force of a falling meteor. CRACK. The Executioner's helmet shatters, and he hits the floor instantly, unconscious before he even realized what happened.

Silence falls. Every guard and Family Head turns toward the dark corner of the room.

Alex: (Walking out of the shadows, hands in his pockets, smirking) "Oh, Serina... I left my sight on you for a second and you're already beaten up? And Evelyn, too? Man, you girls really need to work on your defensive stance."

Serina: (Coughing, shocked) "Alex?! How did you get past the barrier?!"

Alex: "Barrier? You mean that thin layer of mana at the door? I thought that was a mosquito net." (His smirk turns sharp and dangerous) "No one dares to touch my contractors. Sorry girls, Allen isn't here—he's still complaining that I 'stole' his drink—but don't worry. I'll handle this."

The One-Minute Slaughter:

Lord Kaelen: "KILL HIM! DON'T LET HIM BREATHE!"

Twenty elite guards, the "Silent Blades," charge at once. Blades of wind and fire converge on Alex's position.

Alex: (Softly) "Do you think these lost lambs can touch me?"

A pitch-black barrier erupts around him. When the guards' weapons hit the shield, they don't bounce off—they dissolve. Alex moves. He isn't running; he's flickering.

30 Seconds: He walks through the crowd. Every time he passes a guard, a shadow hand rises from the floor and snaps their weapon like a toothpick.

45 Seconds: He reaches the center of the room. The guards are all on their knees, unable to move as the gravity in the room triples.

60 Seconds: Alex is standing right in front of the Family Heads.

The Climax:

Alex doesn't even use his hands. He summons two Shadow Soldiers—monstrous, knight-like figures made of pure void. They grab Lord Kaelen and Lady Elara by their throats, lifting them off the ground.

Alex: (His eyes glowing a deep, terrifying purple, leaning in with a dark grin) "I thought our descendants would never hurt their own kin... but you guys? You actually disgust me."

The shadows in the room begin to crawl up the walls, forming mouths that whisper the sins of the Family Heads back to them.

Alex: "I could erase your entire lineage before my soda can hits the ground again. Give me one reason why I shouldn't let my soldiers play with your souls for a few centuries."

The Shadow Soldiers' grip tightened. Lord Kaelen's face turned a bruised purple, his feet dangling inches off the floor as he clawed at the incorporeal darkness around his neck.

Alex: (Tilting his head, voice dropping to a cold whisper) "Well? I'm waiting. Give me one reason why your names shouldn't be erased from every history book by sunrise. I'm feeling particularly... creative today."

The shadows in the room began to vibrate, reacting to Alex's bloodlust. The ground beneath the Family Heads started to liquefy into a black abyss.

The Plea:

"Alex! Stop!"

The voice came from behind him. Serina, still chained but looking at him with wide, terrified eyes, shook her head. "Don't... don't kill them. If you do, the entire Hunter Association will collapse. The world isn't ready for that kind of chaos."

Evelyn added, her voice trembling but firm, "He's right, Alex. Please. Just... let them go. We're okay."

The Release:

Alex stared at the girls for a long beat. The terrifying purple glow in his eyes faded back to a bored, casual brown. He snapped his fingers.

POOF. The Shadow Soldiers vanished into thin air. Lord Kaelen and Lady Elara collapsed to the floor, gasping for air and clutching their throats.

Alex: (Groaning, running a hand through his hair) "Aww, man. You guys always spoil the fun part. I was just getting to the part where I show them what real despair looks like."

The Realization:

The Family Heads stayed on the floor, trembling. Their elite "Silent Blades" were scattered like broken toys across the room. Kaelen looked at Alex, his mind racing.

Who is this boy? he thought. He hasn't used a single known spell. No circles, no chants. He just... commands the world to obey. Lady Elara whispered to herself, "Is it possible? Were the prophecies wrong? We thought the girls were the Chosen Ones... but what if these two 'slackers' are the ones the legends warned us about? No... they're just kids. They must be using some Forbidden Relic!"

The Ultimatum:

Alex walked over to a nearby chair, spun it around, and sat down backwards, resting his chin on his arms. He looked down at the "most powerful people in the world" as if they were naughty toddlers.

Alex: (His expression turning dead serious) "Alright. I'm bored of the games. I'll give you exactly five minutes to explain yourselves. Why were you hurting my sister and Evelyn when they've done nothing but clean up your messes?"

He glanced at his watch—or rather, the bare skin of his wrist.

Alex: "Four minutes and fifty seconds left. Start talking, before I decide that 'erasing you' sounds fun again."
