"Sweetheart?"
Jamie froze for a second, genuinely surprised to see him too. "What are you doing here?" He asked after staring at Jett for a while.
"This is Matt's house." Jett replied.
"Oh, I didn't notice." Jamie said dryly.
Silence fell afterwards. And while Jamie awkwardly avoided eye contact with Jett, Jett on the other hand, stared openly like he just discovered gold.
Jamie noticed a dark purple mark just under Jett's cheekbone.
"What happened to your face?"
Jett instinctively touched it. "Oh. That?" Jett laughed lightly. "Nothing, just gym stuff."
Jamie's eyes didn't leave the bruise. "Gym stuff?" he repeated.
"Yeah, training. I'm clumsy sometimes."
Jamie nodded slowly, but his face had gone tight. "Right," he said.
Alex's voice echoed in his head.
Ask him about it and watch him lie, over and over and over again.
Jamie swallowed."Where's Matt?" He asked instead, deciding to ignore the burn in his chest at the moment.
"He's at the garage." Jett replied.
