**Alexander's P.O.V**
I was so pissed, who the fuck was this?
This was the jersey I was going to use and play our basketball match next period.
Shit
"What the fuck, can't you watch where you're go….."
I looked at her innocent face right into her light brown eyes, it was mesmerizing
Admit the chaos she was smiling, odd but
I found myself dumbfounded and feeling drawn to her almost immediately, this reaction of mine was rare
Then I saw a tear slip from her eyes, she immediately ran away with someone following almost immediately
'Had I done something wrong?'
I turned around to see people laughing as she ran out.
"What the heck is funny?" I asked and the whole hall went silent.
"I think you should focus on pulling of the jersey and replacing it" Noah said
I excused myself as Noah followed, we first went to the washroom then to the changing room.
I borrowed one of Noah's spare jerseys as I had left mine at home.
"Who was that girl?" Noah asked
"I was wondering the same thing, maybe new kid, not sure" I replied putting on jersey
"I felt a connection towards her"
"I thought I was the only one" I said trying to look unbothered.
Something about her felt off, I felt the pull towards her but something wasn't just right.
"Be careful, she might just be after your blood, all these fucking restless demons"
"I don't feel a connection towards demons, Noah"
"Just saying though"
We left the changing room as I headed for my locker
A lot of girls began gathering me and asking silly questions,they were so annoying, I wished I could get rid of them.
"Can you give my boyfriend some space!"
As soon as I heard her voice, I regretted coming here, why does she call me her boyfriend even after we broke up last week?
"I heard about that bitch that stained your jersey, uhhhhh, some fan girls have no shame at all, going after someone's man"Jenna said trying to hold my arm.
I ignored her comment as I saw the newbie walking towards my direction.
I pretended not to see her and offloaded my bag slowly.
I threw a glance at her direction to see her walking away.
She was clearly avoiding me.
I checked our timetable to see that our last class was laboratory.
The bell went off
"Hey, let's go" Noah said as the crowd slowly dispersed.
"Actually I think I'm going to attend class, just for today"
"Newbie?"
"It's not a crime to know more about her"
I headed to class with Noah and sat at back.
She was sitting at the front, her head on the desk, maybe half asleep, her hair dropping down.
Mr David walked in.
"Gooday"He said but got no reply.
"Oh, Mrs Hudson would you mind introducing yourself?"
"I'm Claire Hudson"she said then sat down back, didn't even bother looking back.
'Claire Hudson, so that's your name' I said to myself.
"I'm Mr David, your laboratory teacher and supervisor, today I'll be pairing all of you into two's and whoever you are paired with will be your partner till the year runs out, this will likely be your last partner in this school"
"Oh, and Mr blackwood, I see you attended class today" he said addressing me
"Whooooooo" It erupted in the laboratory as I caught Claire looking backwards.
She then looked forward realizing she'd been caught.
The rest of the pairing was a blur until Claire and I were the only ones left.
This year will be very interesting.
"Finally Mrs Hudson and Mr blackwood, the both of you will be working together" He said then left the class.
She immediately tried to slip away but I blocked her path.
"Really going to avoid me all day?" I asked
"What?"
"You can drop the act you've been avoiding me, or didn't you figure out that I'll notice?"
"I wasn't avoiding you" she said avoiding my eyes as I cocked one of my eyebrows up
"Can we not do this here?"She said as I noticed a bunch of people staring at us.
"Can you guys move on?" I said as they started dispersing slowly.
"If you want to bully me then go ahead and do it, I already said I was sorry"
"You think u wanna bully you?" I asked and she didn't bother to reply.
"Is that your first impression of me?"
"My first impression of you doesn't matter"
She felt familiar, why?
"I'm Xander by the way" I asked ignoring Noah's stare.
"Claire"
"Mind if I walk you out?"I asked ignoring Noah's stare.
She was a little reluctant at first but then nodded approvingly.
As I was about to walk out, I bumped into someone.The scent was intoxicating, clearly not human.
A demon
It had a human appearance but I could see through his versage right into it's soul, and I figured he knew.
It's been long since demons dared to enter the school, this one really has balls.
He was as surprised as I was, but immediately maintained his composure and slightly walked past me.
"Are you ready?"
"Yeah, but Xander wants to walk me out"
"Xander?" He asked ignoring the fact that I was right in front of her.
"Oh sorry, Pixel meet Xander and Xander meet Pixel, my best friend"
'a demon being a best friend to a human, that is rare'I thought to myself.
"Nice to meet you pixel" I said not bothering to extend my hand for a handshake, especially not to a demon.
"I wish I could say the same"
After his statement the tension between the two of us was clearly obvious.
"Have you guys met before?"Claire asked
"Not really, can we head out?"
"Yeah, why not?"He replied
' I wasn't talking to you!' I felt like screaming it in his damn face but restrained myself.
We headed out in silence and when we were almost at the car park I finally spoke.
"By the way why were you smiling just before you started crying, like not in a bad way but it was kinda weird"
"I normally smile when I feel tense, I actually thought I was gonna piss my pants"
"The way people were just staring...and the fact that I didn't even know who you were, btw are you some kinda big shot or what?"
"That's if you mean school's best basketballer"
'Why was he so quiet'
As we kept talking I kept noticing him throwing side glances at me like he was trying to tell me he was watching me, who the heck was this bastard.
I waved goodbye as I saw Jenna, Noah and Taylor waiting for me.
"Did you get what you were looking for?"Noah asked as soon as we got into the car.
"No, but she's definitely picked my interest,much more than I'd expected"
"Hmmmm"
"And also, that demon she calls her best friend"
