Chapter 26 - 025: The Man Who Will Be the King of the Galaxy

The alien's face was pale, and he had wet his pants in fear.

In his view, Son Gohan was absolutely terrifying.

His comrades had all been killed by a single punch from Son Gohan, executed without any unnecessary flourish.

The moves were clean and decisive.

How could anyone possibly contend with a person like this?

He stammered, his mind blank, unsure how to answer Son Gohan.

"Speak, if your answer satisfies me, perhaps I can spare your life," Son Gohan said.

"I'll talk, I'll talk."

The alien's legs trembled, urine soaked his crotch, emitting a pungent stench.

Gohan reluctantly pinched his nose, enduring the alien's rambling explanation and incessant pleas for mercy.

According to him, he belonged to Bojack's army, serving in the advance party responsible for searching and scouting life-bearing planets.

A few days ago, after arriving on Earth, they began gathering information about the planet.

Initially, they found Earth to be a low-level planet, inhabited by weaklings whose power level was only 5.

Such planets are usually resource-poor and hold little exploration value.

But yesterday,

They learned about the Dragon Balls from a certain Earthling.

The Dragon Balls, capable of granting any wish, undoubtedly held immense appeal for aliens.

This was the most tempting treasure.

Consequently, Earth's valuation skyrocketed.

The advance party immediately reported the information regarding the Dragon Balls.

Their leader, Bojack, instructed them to find every possible way to collect the Dragon Balls.

Those who gathered the Dragon Balls would be heavily rewarded.

Upon receiving the order, the advance party began interrogating Earthlings about the Dragon Balls.

However, the Earthlings didn't know much.

Not to mention the methods for collecting them.

Unable to get the answers they wanted, the aliens initiated a brutal massacre.

They attempted to use this method to force Earthlings to reveal the location of the Dragon Balls.

The result was predictable.

Son Gohan: "..."

There's a curse word I'm not sure I should say.

Truly, the Dragon Balls are the source of both success and failure.

Who knows which loose-lipped Earthling blabbed about the Dragon Balls.

Perhaps in the future, I should make a wish to diminish the Dragon Balls' presence.

But who exactly is this Bojack?

Son Gohan searched his memory but couldn't recall such a character existing in the Dragon Ball world.

However, he understood.

Since the moment of his reincarnation, the wheel of history had already deviated, heading down a completely new path.

Son Gohan stared coldly at the alien and asked, "How strong is Bojack? And when will he arrive on Earth?"

Mentioning Bojack, the alien's eyes lit up, seeing a sliver of hope for survival.

He said, "King Bojack is immensely powerful; you definitely won't be his match. How about this: we join forces and strike from both the inside and outside? We might have a chance to win."

"What do you say? Think about it. This might be the only way."

Son Gohan replied, "I asked you when he will arrive."

The alien said, "At the speed of the King's spaceship, he will arrive on Earth in about ten hours. We don't have much time left."

"You must think clearly; our cooperation is the only chance."

"We really don't have much time."

"Oh, is that so?" Son Gohan smiled. "What you said makes sense. I'll listen to you; let's cooperate."

"I wasn't wrong, you truly are a smart person," the alien laughed along.

It seems his life was saved.

"Is that right? Hehehe..." Son Gohan laughed, and the energy at his fingertips suddenly erupted, instantly crushing the alien's head.

Until his death, the alien couldn't figure out why Son Gohan, who had been talking amicably just a second ago, suddenly changed his expression and attacked.

Son Gohan kicked the alien's corpse away, then shot out a palm blast, turning it into a mist of blood.

The self-proclaimed clever alien turned into ash and vanished into the air.

"Are you stupid or am I? You're telling that kind of stale joke—that my assets plus Jack Ma's assets could leverage the Asian economy—even in the Dragon Ball world."

Gohan muttered a complaint, then flew up to Videl's hiding spot and found her.

Videl looked at Gohan in surprise and asked, "Is it already dealt with?"

That speed was too fast; she had only heard loud explosions.

Son Gohan nodded and said, "Yes, it's safe for now."

"Safe for now? What does that mean?" Videl wondered. Hadn't all the aliens been taken care of?

Son Gohan said, "I won't hide it from you. A much more terrifying alien will arrive on Earth tomorrow."

"Ah, really? What should we do?" Videl grew nervous again.

Son Gohan said, "Tomorrow, my companions and I will step up. If we win, everything will be safe. If we lose, Earth will return to the time dominated by the Androids—and it might even be worse."

Videl's entire face turned pale.

She asked, "Is there, is there another way? Can't we use the full military might of the entire kingdom against tomorrow's enemy?"

Son Gohan said, "We can't. Let me put it this way: if I wanted to destroy Earth, all I would need is a single Ki blast."

"The power of Earthlings is far too insignificant. Even the kingdom's strongest recognized nuclear attack is like a light scratch to people like us—it has absolutely no effect."

"If I were prepared, even a nuclear cleansing of the area wouldn't be able to harm me in the slightest."

Son Gohan's words shocked Videl into silence.

It was the first time she realized that human power could reach such a level.

It was also the first time she realized how terrifying Son Gohan, standing right in front of her, truly was.

According to Gohan, the danger level of tomorrow's enemy was unknown.

But one thing was certain: they could easily destroy the entire planet.

How could such a crisis be resolved?

Did they really have to rely only on Son Gohan?

Were Earthlings just waiting for death?

Videl's mind was a mess.

She stood there dumbfounded, unsure what to say for a moment.

Just as Son Gohan had said, the kingdom's power was simply too minuscule.

It was impossible for them to influence the battle.

The decade-plus of chaos caused by the Androids was the best proof.

Against absolute power, the kingdom's strength was like the light of a firefly.

Humble, weak, and helpless.

Looking at her, Son Gohan said, "Alright, I should go now. Goodbye."

"Son Gohan!"

Videl suddenly called out his name.

"What is it?" Son Gohan, who was about to shoot into the sky, turned his head.

Videl said, "Be careful tomorrow. I still want to learn how to fly from you."

"Mhm, okay."

Son Gohan nodded, shot into the sky, and flew toward the Lookout.

He needed to check on Trunks' progress and also ask North Kai who exactly this Bojack was.

Understanding the opponent's situation was far better than going in blind.

Just then,

North Kai's voice rang out in Gohan's mind.

"Gohan, Son Gohan, are you listening? It's North Kai."

Son Gohan was surprised. North Kai was actually contacting him proactively?

This was incredible.

The chaos caused by the Androids had lasted over a decade, yet North Kai had never contacted him.

What was the situation now?

Son Gohan stopped, standing above the clouds, and replied, "Lord Kai, I'm here."

North Kai's voice sounded again: "This is the situation, Son Gohan, I'll keep it brief. A terrifying individual is currently approaching Earth and is expected to arrive tomorrow. You must prepare for battle."

Son Gohan was somewhat surprised.

He hadn't even asked, yet North Kai had brought it up himself.

It seemed this Bojack's identity was highly significant.

He was definitely not some insignificant nobody.

Otherwise, North Kai wouldn't be this nervous.

Son Gohan said, "If Lord Kai is referring to Bojack, I have already encountered his advance party."

North Kai was startled: "Yes, it is Bojack. I didn't expect you to know already."

Son Gohan said, "I have already eliminated all of his advance party. Lord Kai, I want to ask: what is the true background of this Bojack?"

North Kai fell silent for a moment, sinking into memory, then slowly began to speak:

"Speaking of Bojack, that is a name from a very long time ago."

"About a thousand years ago, a massive evil force emerged in the galaxy. This force committed atrocities and all manner of wickedness, and their goal was astonishingly the destruction of the four galaxies."

"At that time, this evil force led by Bojack was incredibly powerful and invincible. Wherever they went, life was devastated; countless life-bearing planets turned into dead stars under their hands. Almost no one in the four galaxies was their match."

"The galaxy faced a catastrophe and was in grave danger."

"Later, Grand Kai taught the four of us Kais a method of sealing."

"The four of us Kais, who govern the North, South, East, and West Galaxies, joined forces and finally sealed Bojack at the end of the universe. Peace was finally restored to the four galaxies."

"Over a thousand years passed since then."

"However, not long ago, South Kai was murdered by an ambitious individual."

"With South Kai dead, the seal we jointly established years ago could no longer be maintained. Bojack broke free and is once again causing havoc in the galaxy."

The dignified South Kai was actually killed by someone? That was truly shocking.

Son Gohan managed to suppress his urge to complain and continued to ask, "I didn't expect him to be an antique from a thousand years ago. What is his actual strength? How does he compare to the Androids?"

North Kai thought for a moment before replying, "His strength far surpasses the Androids. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to terrorize the galaxy for so long."

Son Gohan said, "Then there is one thing I don't understand. If Bojack is so strong, how were the four of you Kais able to seal him?"

The implication was that Son Gohan thought the four Kais were too weak to have sealed such a powerful warrior.

North Kai was a seasoned veteran who had lived for countless ages; how could he not grasp the meaning behind Gohan's words?

He cleared his throat, forcefully masking his embarrassment, and said, "It was mainly due to the sealing technique. Unfortunately, now that South Kai is dead, we can no longer set up the original seal. The galaxy is going to be in chaos again, alas."

Son Gohan: "..."
