Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

"This is completely a trap!"

Hestia, standing on the side, heard Takumi's statement and instantly understood the ulterior motives of the wizarding world in recruiting non-pure-blood students.

In her opinion, this was a system that took advantage of the attraction magic held for children to lure them in. It was a trap designed to cultivate 'leeks' for exploitation within their own small society.

As for children with magical talent, they would be in danger if they did not learn to control it.

Even if that were the case, if they truly had the children's best interests at heart, they could simply open a holiday cram school.

Instead, they failed to explain the social system or the stakes involved, and they provided no clarity on the child's future prospects.

The former was brushed off with, 'Due to the secrecy statutes regarding ordinary people, we cannot explain too much to you.'

Regarding the latter, they didn't even bother to offer a positive vision; they simply said, "Your child is talented, and if they do not come to learn magic, they may die."

This was essentially forcing parents to surrender their children.

Once the child is handed over, they are subjected to brainwashing and assimilation.

By the time these children grow up and realize the situation, it is already too late.

Is this not a trap?

"Indeed, this approach most likely has no good intentions," Kochou Kanae couldn't help but nod in agreement.

"My sister is right," Kochou Shinobu added, signifying that her sister's opinion was her own.

As for Tsuyuri Kanao, she didn't keep up with the rhythm and didn't quite understand.

She simply drank her juice silently and watched the adults discuss.

"..."

Hermione was nearly catatonic with shock.

She never imagined there was such a massive pitfall in the wizarding world.

To think she had been so excited and happy to enter the magical world.

She had spent so much thought and energy just trying to fit in.

In the end, was she just a 'leek' who had been deceived?

"Don't be so frustrated, Hermione. At least it's still early and you already understand the stakes, so it isn't too late yet."

Seeing that Hermione was feeling down, Takumi quickly offered comfort.

If he didn't comfort her, it would be problematic if the child became completely withdrawn.

"That's right, this is just the beginning, and it is still not too late."

Hestia also noticed that Hermione's mood was wrong. She quickly stepped forward and hugged the little girl, comforting her.

However, her hug made Takumi's eyes widen.

Hermione, overwhelmed by the physical contact, quickly broke away from Hestia's arms.

The hug had almost suffocated her; it was truly startling.

Seeing that Hestia was about to pounce on her again, Hermione quickly said: "I'm fine, don't worry about me. I just don't know what to do next."

Takumi shrugged: "It's just a matter of making a choice as early as possible—whether to bet your future on the wizarding world, the ordinary world, or to try to balance both."

"In short, you need to prepare a retreat, similar to deciding which university you want to attend."

"But you need to discuss this with your parents; we cannot make the decision for you."

Hermione thought for a while and felt this was the only way, so she nodded: "Well, I will send a letter to my parents after I go back and explain these issues clearly to them."

As for the outcome of that talk?

It was hard to say.

At least for now, Hermione, who had just entered the wizarding world, would not give up so easily.

After all, she had only learned of these situations from Takumi's words; she had not experienced them personally yet.

Most of her current impressions of the wizarding world were still positive.

...

After lunch, Hermione left in a hurry.

Firstly, she was anxious to go back and discuss the future with her parents, and secondly, she was afraid someone would notice her absence, which would cause trouble.

When saying goodbye, she expressed her deep gratitude to Takumi.

Not only did he invite her to a luncheon despite her not helping much, but he also shared so much useful information that little Hermione felt she had gained a great deal.

In response, Takumi just smiled and said it was nothing, inviting her to come and play again next time.

After a polite farewell, Takumi received his reward for receiving Hermione.

"Congratulations to the host for completing the reception of the visitor 'Hermione Granger' and receiving the reward: the magical inheritance of 'Gellert Grindelwald'."

"Hm? It's actually this..."

Takumi couldn't help being slightly surprised when he saw the reward.

He had some expectations regarding whether he would receive magic from the Harry Potter world.

He didn't expect to actually get it.

And it was Grindelwald's legacy!

Who was Grindelwald?

The first Dark Lord!

The spiritual leader who ignited a frenzy of change in the wizarding world!

The lifelong rival of Albus Dumbledore, the most powerful wizard in the world!

A master of the dark arts!

The second-generation Dark Lord, Voldemort, was practically a novice compared to this man.

The reason for saying this, besides the difference in strength, was the difference in their goals.

Unlike Voldemort, who hid away and wanted to purge the wizarding world itself.

Everything Grindelwald did was for what he believed was the good of the wizarding world—at least, he and his followers thought so.

What he wanted to purge were Muggles, ordinary people without magic, to transform the world into one ruled by wizards.

The scale of his ambition was on a different level.

He operated under the banner of making the wizarding world better.

Voldemort stayed hidden, causing harm to the already fragile foundation of the wizarding world.

Grindelwald targeted the outside world, seeking greater space for wizards to survive.

Comparing the two was almost an insult to Grindelwald.

As for that man without a nose?

Was he even worthy of the comparison?

...

Regardless of Grindelwald's character.

His magical strength was undoubtedly top-tier.

By casting spells with one hand and without a wand, he stood far above most wizards.

This was very convenient for Takumi.

The ability for wandless spellcasting was arguably better for Takumi than Dumbledore's inheritance.

Since Takumi did not have a magic wand and no time to search for one, this was undoubtedly the most suitable inheritance for him.

Thinking of this, Takumi accepted the inheritance without hesitation.

The next moment, a massive amount of memories flooded into his mind, causing Takumi to frown slightly.

Fortunately, his physique had become much stronger; otherwise, the pain would have been unbearable.

After closing his eyes to organize the magical knowledge, Takumi raised his hand as he opened them.

Wandless casting!

Silent casting!

A water glass next to him floated up and slowly drifted into Takumi's hand.

"Huh?"

Hestia couldn't help but be surprised when she saw it: "Takumi, do you know magic?"

"Well, I've learned about a hundred million points of it."

Takumi accepted the glass with a smile and gestured toward the air with his fingertips.

Truly a vast amount of knowledge!

After receiving the inheritance, Takumi discovered that Grindelwald's knowledge was staggering.

Spells, Dark Arts, and Alchemy—Grindelwald knew practically everything within the wizarding world to some degree.

He even had a theory of magical composition that he had developed himself.

Through this theory, after thoroughly understanding the components of a spell, one could dismantle and reconstruct it according to their own ideas.

That is... the ability to create new magic!

Grindelwald was truly a master of magic.

While others might be lucky enough to create a single new spell, this man had developed the core theories needed to create magic systematically. It was a complete level of superiority.
