Chapter 30 - Elias & Aurelian

-Sebastian Lightwood:

I should have talked about it last night, I should have mentioned it to him.

That thought had been circling in my head since the second I woke up, relentless and heavy, sitting right behind my eyes while I tried to focus on the desk in front of me. I had sat there for a while, staring at nothing, pretending I was thinking about unpacking, about the castle, about the life that I had just given away to a witch, about anything that wasn't the kiss.

But it was only about the kiss. That moment.

The way Elias's lips had felt against mine, warm and unsure and electric all at once. The way my chest had tightened, like my heart didn't know whether to race or stop entirely. He had kissed me first. That alone still didn't feel real. The way he wrapped his arms around my neck, the way his warm breath felt against my mouth. And then the second kiss—longer, deeper, deliberate—had undone something inside me I didn't even know was still intact.
