Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

ISHAQ:A BEACON OF HOPE AND HARMONY.

Ishaq's presence in the family radiated joy, love, and unity, filling the household with a complete feeling of peace and harmony among all the members. Mr. Hassan showered his wife with immense love for giving birth to a handsome, bouncing baby boy, whose arrival brought celebration and renewed hope to the entire family.

After years of longing for a child, Ishaq was treated like a golden glass by every family member, especially his mother, who guarded him with extraordinary care. He was not allowed to do anything that would harm him, and she hardly let him go out without closely monitoring his movements. The family believed that while humans do their best to protect children from trouble, they can sometimes forget themselves in the process, relying on God who never forgets or abandons His children. There is a hymn that asks, "Can a woman forget her child?" and it answers, "yes, she can", but God cannot forget or forsake His own.

The child's inspiring presence also motivated his father to expand his farming activities, investing heavily in agriculture to provide a better future for the young boy, thereby strengthening the family's livelihood and legacy.

His irrigation projects quickly began yielding impressive returns, bringing unprecedented happiness to his family—so much so that no one imagined even the slightest mishap could ever befall them.

An elderly, poverty‑stricken man in the community once lamented, "Ei! Is life really that cruel to some people? Look how I suffer while the Ishaq's family are rolling in wealth." He noted that some individuals enter the world to make a genuine mark, while others simply "come in just to make up the numbers." He spoke bitterly, became dejected, and forgot that one should not curse one's maker while still alive.

Biologically, every individual is shaped by heredity and environment. Heredity transmits potential traits from parents to offspring through genes. The environment is the setting into which a child is born, with many factors that can either aid or hinder the normal development of the child's potentials. Both height and body size are largely genetic, though their exact expression depends on environmental influences.

Environmental influences can shape a child's development, affecting whether they thrive or struggle. A nurturing environment supports healthy growth, while a lack of proper care can hinder it.Ishaq's surroundings encouraged positive physical development, making him stand out.His impressive stature made peers of his age appear smaller in comparison, which drew attention to him. When Ishaq and his friends were playing outside, people always focused on Ishaq and ignored the other children, which made the mothers of the other children dislike Ishaq and his mother.

One day, an elderly woman saw him on her way to the market and remarked, "Wow, what a handsome boy! I've never seen anyone like him. Could he be a child of ordinary birth?" He blessed his parents for having such a son, wishing he would grow into greatness. She believed that qualities like charm and elegance could be a ticket to success, and Ishaq had the potential to achieve it.

Madam Jamey always receives gifts from outsiders whenever she takes Ishaq with her to the market. Some people even want to take him with them and even adopt him.

A lone guy was just chillin' in the corner, watchin' the whole scene—folks staring at Ishaq, everybody wishing they had a kid just like him. He muttered to himself, "God, bless me with a wife and a child, 'cause Jamey's got good vibes and she's solid religiously. I'm single, ready to marry soon as I spot a gal with the same vibe as Madam Jamey.Everyone knows her in the village." He chuckled, smiled, and dipped his leg.

The child was also a lucky one. His arrival in the family opened the door for two more children to join the household. God blessed the couple with two more beautiful girls, adding joy to the home. The elder of the two girls resembled her mother so much that the parents decided to name her after her mother, honoring the strong family likeness and the mother's cherished memory. The family felt grateful for the blessings of these new children, seeing them as gifts that strengthened their bond and brought happiness to their lives.

The relatives from various villages arrived to visit Mr. Hassan's family when Madam Jamey began having children. They brought gifts and foodstuffs with them. Some of the visitors who came to see them started gossiping, saying they didn't think the child was a blessing from God but that they had visited a native doctor, and also that their wealth wasn't from God.Madam Jamey heard the gossip but pretended she didn't hear anything at all. She focused on how Allah had blessed them with the joy of children and with their wealth.
