Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - The most powerful God in this world?

The memories that flooded my mind were incredible—so incredible that they felt unbelievable. Yes, I am a god. The god of blacksmithing. Did something like that even exist in the original story of Danmachi?

Wasn't Hephaestus supposed to be the Goddess of the Forge/Blacksmithing?

What the hell is this?

I have memories from thousands of years ago. Memories of when I came to this world during the Age of the Gods. I also have memories of when my relationship with Hephaestus began, many years ago.

We were practically made for each other. That's all I can say.

'This is so unbelievable…'

Not long ago, I was at home, sitting in front of my computer—and a second later, I became a god? This is so bizarre it feels like it came straight out of a fanfic. 'I can't say I dislike it. My abilities are… terrifying.'

Worthy of a god.

However, I'm not like the other gods in this world. My abilities can be used freely, but I chose not to use them. A single weapon created by me could end the world.

Isn't that awesome?

"Eryk? Did something happen?"

And what is this? How can a god be called Eryk?

I don't dislike my old name, but isn't it kind of ridiculous for a god to have such a common name?

Ah, and about my appearance.

Long black hair, hypnotizing blue eyes, tall, with a perfect body. The same character I created before coming to this world. 'GMGod… was he the one who sent me here?'

Was one of the game's administrators actually a god? Or was he not an administrator after all?

There's no way to know.

"Eryk? I'm talking to you! Is something wrong?"

"Ah, no, everything's fine. I was just thinking about the past—about the day we met."

"Wow, that was so long ago. How do you still remember that?"

"I remember perfectly every single day I spent with you," I said, smiling at her. Hephaestus's cute face flushed slightly, and then she kissed my lips.

How long has it been since I last felt this?

The sensation of a woman's lips.

Soft. Pleasant.

After kissing me, Hephaestus gave me a mischievous smile, making my heart race. Not even the memories of all the nights we spent together were enough to make me act normally in this situation.

Still, I kept myself under control and didn't show my nervousness.

"You already had plenty of fun last night. Come on, get up—we have visit the shops. You'll go with me today, right?"

"Can't I rest for at least another hour?"

"Hm? You don't usually sleep in. Something really did happen, didn't it? What is it? What's bothering you?"

"I already told you it's nothing. I'm just feeling a bit tired."

"Tired? But you don't do anything all day." Hephaestus laughed as she picked up some clean clothes.

Even though my heart was racing, seeing her naked felt completely normal… It didn't feel unbelievable at all.

Am I getting used to this that fast?

"I do my best." I teased.

"Alright, alright. I'm going to take a shower. When I come out, I want you out of that bed."

"Okay." I smiled at her and blew her a kiss.

Hephaestus laughed and went to the bathroom, cheerfully whistling.

Once she entered the bathroom and left me alone, reality finally hit me. I grabbed my head and messed up my hair.

'This is insane. This is incredible.'

I still can't believe that god was so good to me. What did I do to deserve a life like this?

That was when it happened.

A translucent window appeared in front of me. However, there were no stats like strength or agility—only two skills. The skills that made me the most powerful god in this world.

"I didn't expect to have a status like this. But in the end, it's useless since there are no levels or stats. Unless I gain new skills, this is meaningless."

It's not even useful for checking what the skills do, since I've already used them in the past and know exactly how they work.

"…"

I placed my hands behind my head and stared at the ceiling while listening to the sound of water coming from the bathroom.

The corners of my lips curled into a smile.

"What should I do now that I'm here? Should I just enjoy my married life with Hephaestus… or should I have a little fun?"

There are so many interesting things to do.

I left the room together with Hephaestus, and every time we passed by members of the Familia, they smiled at us and treated us with great respect. No one ever bowed their head to me in my previous life—this feels strange.

We even ate together in a private room before leaving the mansion where we lived. However, I noticed that the area controlled by our Familia was much larger than just that mansion.

It was more than an entire block.

Houses, workshops, warehouses, shops.

I helped Hephaestus manage everything. Not just me—there were other people helping us as well. Speaking of which, I am the captain of the Familia.

Despite being more powerful than Hephaestus, the Familia still bears her name. I accepted that in the past: being the captain of the Familia and staying by her side.

There's also a vice-captain. Her name is Tsubaki, a half-dwarf woman. She holds the highest position in the Familia after Hephaestus and me. She's a good woman—that's all I have in my memories.

I was never very close to her, even though she's the vice-captain. I only gave her orders a few times.

"What's wrong? You seem restless. You're looking everywhere."

"Hm? Oh, I'm just observing. That's all."

"Hmm… You've never acted like this before. Are you really okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine."

"We'll visit some shops in this area, then we'll go to Babel Tower. Don't forget—this is work. Don't act disinterested. At least pretend you care."

That guy… Despite always helping, he was never truly interested. Idiot.

Is there anything more interesting than a forge?
