Chapter 2 - CH.02

"Whoa~"

Vann lay on the warden's luxurious leather chair and spun around.

Overlooking the entire prison from the floor-to-ceiling windows on the third floor, with the Hudson River right next to it, the view is quite nice.

Warden Robert stood ramrod straight to one side, his head slightly bowed.

Dealing with both a Minister of Justice and a member of parliament in quick succession had left Vann somewhat exhausted. Enjoying the comfort of the leather chair, he remarked, "You, the warden, certainly know how to enjoy yourself. The leather chair is comfortable, and the view is beautiful too."

"Boss, you're joking. Managing a prison with thousands of people isn't that easy." Robert bowed slightly.

"In a few days, it won't be a prison for a few thousand people, but a prison for tens of thousands. You'd better keep a close eye on it for me."

"Don't worry, boss, I have plenty of management experience."

"Um."

Van En nodded, then, noticing Robert's hesitant expression, waved his hand and said, "Ask me anything you want to ask, and I'll answer what I can."

"Boss... is an underground prison necessary?" As the warden in charge of the entire prison, Robert naturally knew about the situation of the underground prison.

"I'm not questioning your decision, but I think that if it's something like a classified facility or research institute, it's certainly fine to put it underground."

But for holding such lowly criminals, I think our hardened prison cells are sufficient; I'm confident they absolutely cannot escape!

"hehe"

Van En laughed: "Robert, the underground prison isn't for ordinary people. You'll understand later."

Not an ordinary person?

Could it be a high-ranking official or a spy/agent?

Robert didn't quite understand, but seeing that his boss didn't seem inclined to explain, he could only suppress his doubts.

"Ring ring..." Van En's phone rang.

He glanced at the screen, then nodded to Warden Robert, who obediently walked out and closed the door behind him.

Vann picked up the phone: "Hey, Sitwell, what's up?"

"Mr. Vane, S.H.I.E.L.D. needs to reassign a group of agents. Rumlow will still be leading the team. Are you ready?"

"Of course, I made an appointment with Dr. Faust three days ago, and he will come over."

By the way, I have some good news for you: the BF drug has been successfully developed. After being properly formulated, agents can use this drug without any side effects.

After use, it can unleash power and speed similar to Captain America.

It will only cause weakness for several hours after use, but as long as it is used with appropriate recovery medication, it will not cause any damage to the body.

So, are you interested?

"Of course I'm interested, but...has the price gone up again?"

"Haha, is this a secure phone call?"

"Wait a minute... this is top secret now."

"The adjustment cost is $1.5 million per person, the current price is $2.5 million. Of the extra $1 million, Dr. Faust and I will each make a profit of $500,000. As for the remaining $500,000, I will only give Pierce 70%, and deposit the remaining 30% into your Swiss account. How about that?"

In addition, a set of BF potions and recovery potions costs 300,000, at cost price.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then a voice came through: "I'll report to the minister, and then apply to Director Fury."

"Okay, I'll wait for your good news! Also, Hail Hydra!"

"...Hail Hydra!"

Vann hung up the phone with a satisfied smile. This deal with S.H.I.E.L.D. had a profit margin of 200%!

After transmigrating, ever since he realized he was a Hydra, he felt restless if he didn't shout this slogan every day.

After truly integrating into Hydra's supportive family, he was completely won over!

The connections are too strong, the network is too wide, things get done too smoothly, each teammate has a special skill, everyone helps each other and makes progress together!

What is American-style freedom and democracy? This is American-style freedom and democracy!

After leaving the warden's office, Vann asked his bodyguard Frank to prepare the car, and they headed to New Jersey, which is separated from New York by a river.

Frank is a retired soldier who served in Afghanistan. He is highly skilled, and after undergoing training, his physical abilities have surpassed the peak of human potential, far exceeding those of ordinary trainees.

Perhaps, maybe, he could go toe-to-toe with Captain America!

As the car drove across the bridge, Vann looked at the bustling New York City and wasn't bored at all.

He was originally a Chinese from another world, but ten years ago he inexplicably traveled to this dangerous world—the Marvel universe.

The good news is that this transmigration turned him into a rich second-generation heir.

My father is a multi-billion dollar billionaire who runs a large, publicly traded pharmaceutical company with extensive global operations, primarily focused on vaccines and new drug development, with annual revenue reaching one billion dollars.

He originally thought that all he had to do was spend money, squander his wealth, watch heroes fight monsters, watch Thanos fight heroes, and then gamble on that 50% chance.

It doesn't matter if you lose. Just treat it as five years of seclusion and training, prepare for the worst, and you'll still be carefree and at ease five years from now.

But to his utter surprise, just as he was about to give up, a cheat program appeared.

And what he found out was completely baffled: an entire planet?

What's it called, the Kingdom of Gods?

Which god?

Before he could even figure it out, another piece of news left him dizzy and disoriented: it turned out that his family wasn't some respectable businessmen, but members of the infamous villainous Hydra organization!

My seemingly kind and gentle father is actually the leader of one of Hydra's branches?

In terms of status within the organization, he's on par with former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Pierce!

It should be noted that former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Pierce was only the head of another branch within the organization. Strictly speaking, although he was the strongest, in terms of status and position, everyone was the same.

However, a few years ago, after his father's plane crashed, Vann took over the pharmaceutical company and became the head of a branch of Hydra.

Relying on his father's trusted confidants and divine power, he finally secured his position after several years.

After crossing the bridge, they arrived in New Jersey from New York. After driving for about half an hour, they came to a huge company, the Tiphon Group.

Headquartered in the Typhon Building in Manhattan, which is a large pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and a large training base, it is where he handles the dispatching of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

As we all know, ever since the Soldier Enhancement Serum was successfully used on Captain America, various villainous organizations and even government agencies have been frantically researching it, attempting to mass-produce the serum, build an army of enhanced soldiers, and ultimately conquer the world.

As a branch of Hydra, and also owning a large pharmaceutical conglomerate, there is no doubt that Vann's deceased father had his scientists secretly researching for decades.

The result was not successful, but it wasn't a complete failure either.

They invented a secondary potion that, while not enabling users to achieve superhuman strength like Captain America, could still allow ordinary, physically fit individuals to reach or even slightly exceed human limits.

According to the tests, the adjusted soldiers have greatly improved strength and speed. Depending on their individual physical condition, they can lift 900-1500 kg of weight and run 100 meters in 5-8 seconds.

At the same time, their ability to withstand blows, endurance, explosive power, coordination, balance, and nerve reaction are greatly improved.

Overall, such qualities far exceed those of ordinary people, and can be considered a flawed version of a super soldier.

As far as he knew, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, after being reorganized, formed several special forces teams, and he heard that none of their recent missions had failed.

This is one of the reasons why Sitwell was confident in persuading Director Fury after Vane raised the price.

However, what Director Fury, the "Fuck Man," doesn't know is that most of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who have been reassigned are both S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Hydra agents.

But ultimately, it was Vann's agent.
