Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 – After the Storm

PK had no idea.

While he was calmly returning to his routine—treating the night's chaos like just another solved problem—somewhere inside Law Manor, two identical hearts were completely out of control.

Lana and Luna sat on their beds, backs straight, hands clenched in their laps, faces red—no, danger-level red—and staring at absolutely nothing.

Their heartbeats were fast.

Too fast.

And annoyingly… perfectly synchronized.

Thump.

Thump.

Both of them had been replaying the same moment again and again.

The emergency call.

The fear.

The helplessness.

And then—

PK's calm voice.

His quiet confidence.

The way he took over the battlefield without panic.

The way he told them to rest while he handled the rest.

Why did he sound so calm?

Why did that feel so safe?

Why does my chest feel like this?

And the most terrifying thought of all—

Why are we smiling?

That was when their aunt walked into the room.

She stopped mid-step.

Looked at Lana.

Looked at Luna.

Looked again—slowly.

"…Why do you both look like you just survived a cyber war and then fell into a romance novel?"

No answer.

Just two perfectly mirrored, guilty expressions.

The aunt crossed her arms, eyes narrowing with amusement.

"Oh?" she said slowly. "What's this? Did my serious, disciplined, emotionally unavailable girls finally fall in love?"

Lana nodded.

Luna nodded.

At the exact same time.

The aunt blinked. Once. Twice.

"…Don't tell me," she said carefully, "you both fell in love with the same boy."

Another synchronized nod.

This time, the aunt froze completely.

"Wait—wait—WAIT," she said, pointing at them.

"One boy?"

"Same timing?"

"Same panic?"

"Same blushing?"

"Same heartbeat rhythm?"

Lana spoke.

"…Yes."

Luna spoke.

"…Yes."

Same tone. Same speed.

The aunt pressed her forehead.

"I knew it," she muttered. "Saving your lives was going to cause emotional damage."

They explained everything—how the attack escalated, how they were overwhelmed, how Mr. Fool appeared like a ghost in the system, stabilized everything, shielded the base, and then quietly left.

They carefully skipped details that would have required a full intelligence briefing.

By the end, the aunt slowly sat down.

"So," she said, exhaling, "you both developed a crush on the mysterious genius hacker who saved a military base, told you to rest, and vanished without asking for credit."

Lana nodded.

Luna nodded.

Together.

The aunt looked up at the ceiling.

"Of course," she said. "Why wouldn't this happen."

Then she smiled.

"Well," she added, standing up, "gratitude turning into admiration is dangerous—but at least your taste is exceptional."

The twins froze.

"One rule," the aunt continued, smirking.

"No fighting over him."

Lana and Luna looked at each other.

Then, in perfect synchronization—

"We won't."

We will share.

The aunt paused.

"…That answer worries me."

She walked out shaking her head.

Somewhere else in Z City, PK sneezed for absolutely no reason.

And unknowingly—

smiled.
