Chapter 108 - Chapter 108 – Tested by Contempt

Silas slowly opened the gift package.

Inside lay two simple items—

a clear glass bottle filled with faintly shimmering medicinal water, and a sleek spray bottle sealed carefully.

Silas lifted his gaze and looked at PK.

PK spoke calmly, his tone respectful and steady.

"That bottle contains medicinal water," he explained. "It helps strengthen the body, improves organ vitality, and maintains overall health."

He then gestured toward the spray.

"And this is a sleeping spray. I've heard elders often struggle with sleep as they grow older. Spray it lightly before resting—it calms the nerves and helps achieve deeper, more natural sleep."

Silas listened quietly.

He nodded once.

"Thank you," he said. "It's a thoughtful gift."

His words were polite. Proper.

But deep inside, Silas felt… underwhelmed.

He had expected something rare. Something powerful. Something worthy of a Blackwell elder. Yet all he saw were two ordinary-looking bottles—no aura, no visible prestige.

Still, his manners were impeccable. He would not insult a guest.

The others, however, had no such restraint.

One of the old men laughed outright.

"Where did you buy this junk?" he sneered. "A roadside stall?"

Another scoffed, waving his hand dismissively.

"Cheap tricks," he said coldly. "Kids think medicine bottles can impress Silas Blackwell?"

A third leaned back in his chair, eyes sharp with disdain.

"Take it back, boy. This kind of garbage doesn't belong on this table."

Their words were blunt. Cutting. Unfiltered.

PK said nothing.

He simply stood there, hands relaxed at his sides, a faint smile resting on his lips—as if their insults were nothing more than passing noise.

Silas glanced at PK, then gave a small nod. He understood the situation but chose silence.

At that moment, light footsteps approached.

A beautiful young woman stepped beside Silas.

Her presence immediately drew attention.

Riya Blackwell.

Elegant posture. Fox-like eyes. A beauty sharp enough to feel distant. She stood calmly beside Silas, her expression neutral but observant.

Silas turned to her.

"Get it checked," he said simply.

Riya took the gift box without hesitation and turned away, her movements graceful yet indifferent.

PK remained where he was.

He didn't protest.

Didn't explain further.

Didn't defend himself.

They were elders.

And PK had long learned—some things only time was allowed to answer.

As Riya disappeared into the manor, the faint smile on PK's lips deepened—just slightly.

Because he knew one thing with absolute certainty.

Once tested…

there would be no room left for doubt.
